  1. I was wondering about the last one. Who is the guy in the red and black?
  2. I got an email from sideshow that this one starts shipping in two weeks.
  3. My books were only pictured because they were home awaiting a trip to a different bank/safety deposit box. Most of the time I display modern or cooper books. I wouldn't recommend displaying any high-dollar book for any prolonged period of time.
  4. man...what do you guys do for a living? Male prostitute.
  5. So, I just got home from work and had the following conversation with my wife: Me: "Honey, do you think I'm anal retentive?" Wife (laughing): "Is that a rhetorical question? Are you asking me about the extent of your anal retentiveness?" Me (smiling): "Yes, I suppose that's what I'm asking...how about on a scale from 1 to 10?" Wife: "Well, it depends on the subject, but anywhere from a 7 to a 10." So, all I can say is that I suppose this personality trait can be an asset around here, as well as an annoyance. I'll try to maximize the former and minimize the latter. If you want to find out where you actually fell on the scale between 7 and 10, use the following... 7 - you smiled and walked away wondering if you were a 7, 8, 9, or 10? 8 - you badgered her for an hour until she remembered that she had some shopping to do 9 - when she returned home, you were waiting for her in the garage to resume the conversation 10 - you're reading this from your iphone as you attempt to track her down in the mall to get to the bottom of it
  6. agreed, that light box is amazing! Thanks guys. Seen a company selling something like it, but was able to put this one together myself for about $80.
  7. Not sure I've ever shared my office/comic room, so enjoy... Lined the closet with cedar..
  8. He's mean. You should see what he said about my Momma's combat boots. What could he possibly say about your sweet mother and her combat boots? and I'm getting ready for bed. Can't let this be the last image in my mind. Click here to get that image out of your mind. www.jessicalaba.com

  10. I'm in the same place with this. +2 I voted "No". The sketch opp and the refund issue are clearly PL worthy (based on the comments by the artist that its Menace that has delayed things), but I don't think it's HOS worthy.
  11. I thought they were all subject to the HOS/PL. Folks can end up on the lists because of an eBay transaction now, why not the Sig sub-forum?
  12. No PM neccesary - with personal payments, from a PayPal balance, you have no protection or recourse if something goes wrong through a non-eBay (or other merchant) account. Scammers like to ask for it so they can rip people off easier -slym K... Please bear with me, I am pretty thick... I have a paypal account, and someone has a comic I wish to purchase. I agree to the price and send ask that person for their paypal email. In my paypal, I use that email as the seller and funds are exchanged any way I choose in my paypal account. Am I using a personal account for this transaction? You're doing it right, just make sure to check that it's for goods/services if you don't intend for it to be personal. If you sending personal, you check the option for friends/family.
  13. so where is the probation? bring it im not selling so what am i probated from? All we're missing is for him to dare us all to keep him from posting. He should go straight to the H.O.S. Isn't probation supposed to be a temporary situation to help provide the offending boardie time to correct a wrong? I thought about this a couple of days ago after my issues and while looking at the list. Some of these folks have been on there for several years. I think we need to look hard at a different course for those that outright say they are not going to make good or have been on the list for a prolonged period of time. I'm not sure if it's a third list that says they are not permitted transactions in the marketplace or if they are moved to the HOS list. However, I'm not sure that the PL is always the answer and where some of these folks should reside indefinitely. i am open to right any wrong. i only offended the buyer in the shipping price. i didnt take or steal any money. i have never said i would NOT try to make things right. some have decided to lynch me over a private selling matter.... can one person come forward that i have done wrong in a completed sell or trade? There are no "private selling matters". The transactions that take place with board members are supported by the community. Fail to take care of your business the way you should and the board will label/address you as they have. You wronged SpideyFein by not following through with the deal as you should have per your own post. It should have been $750 pp shipped. By trying to go the route of $750 pp personal + $15 shipping, you attempted to raise the price on him by $15 and take away any security that he had by paying pp personal. To wrong someone on this forum isn't just about screwing them over on money by stealing, but also by not following through on a deal like you should per commitments. Which by the way, you are clearly someone that should never be sent money via pp personal, given your posts.

  15. Mike, removing myself from our PM was not my intent, but that does not change that we had a commitment for a deal and it was and is my expectation that you complete the transaction as agreed. I didn't realize the 55 was not included in your shipment in April, but I refunded you when you brought it to my attention in November. You are still welcome to complete the transaction and have yourself removed from the probation list.
  16. Yep that is a pretty good break down. The screen shot of the refund is above. It may not have been clear, but remember that Mike didn't raise an issue with not getting the book until I pressed the PL issue recently. The shipment that I screwed up on happened about seven months ago. I let him know and have stated here, I'll excuse his commitment to that book, because it was my screwup, but not the other books.
  17. I just wanted to agree with Bio-Rupp here and say that I've had multiple transactions with Frank over a number of years. There has NEVER been an issue. Over 6 years of buying, selling, and sometimes trading here, I could probably come up with 10 sellers that I would buy from in an instant, even without pics. Frank is definitely one of them. Yep... dealt with Frank quite a few times in both buying and selling. Always a pleasure. Appears there is a breakdown with the buyer over the refunded #55. If I'm reading the buyer's Old English semantics properly, it appears they believe its still paid for on "Invoice #23". This appears to be why they won't continue with payment for the other goods held. Frank has already stated he refunded amount paid for this book due to a simple shipping mistake. Perhaps a reminder email including a Paypal screenshot of the refund will make this buyer whole again. Honestly, if Frank shows him proof of refund, then buyer is out nothing and can just re-buy the book with the refunded money. On the other hand, if the buyer doesn't accept this... then chances are he is just trying to get out of the remainder of the sale. If this is the case, then that's very unprofessional, buyer behavior... and Frank is 100% right in bringing the matter here. If buyer doesn't see fit to honor his obligations to Frank after this reminder, I say PL list is a viable option for Frank. Here's the screen shot. I'm not sure how to send a reminder email. I've sent payments before to emails in my contact list that have said "unclaimed". Those I have been able to bump with an email. However, this one shows complete. Also, Mike has sent a PM acknowledging that he has the $100 for the book in his account.
  18. Mike, You were refunded for the #55 because I failed to ship it to you. There was never an agreement that our transaction was contingent upon that book alone. If you still want this book, you can pay for it with the rest of the books that are outstanding.
  19. 2) Yep, he was refunded for that one. 3) Nothing was contingent on specific books. I've told him that if he doesn't want the #55, I won't hold him to that one since it was my screw up for not shipping it the first time.
  20. That's a fair request. I'll have to go through email and pull them. However, I'm going to guess that even Mike himself won't dispute the books in question or the fact that he agreed to buy them. It's just that he wants the #55 shipped now without paying for it after having been refunded and wants the prices lowered on the other books or some of them removed from the agreement. Cut from a recent PM from Mike... I had a running PM with Mike for nearly two years, that I mistakenly removed myself from in an attempt to keep my inbox organized after my last sales thread. I don't delete any emails, so they are there though. Good news for anyone that purchased during that sales thread is that I was able to keep everything straight and everyone's books are shipping Monday...all 3k books Sorry, I know that's not really relevant to the probation list discussion at hand, but I'm guessing more people will be reading this thread in the next couple of days than may happen upon an update to my sales thread.
  21. Mike, I'm just asking that you complete the deal that we originally agreed upon. I made right on the #55. I refunded you because you didn't have it in hand. I stated above and I'll repeat, you're welcome out of the deal with the #55 because of the mix-up. You still owe me now for the other books that remained on the list that I have held for you. As for the rest of that mess? I've held books for you for long periods of time, helped you purchase books when you were unable, and been fair with you. All things I've done for many other boardies. You're just the first to mistake me for being soft enough at the end of the day to walk over. Post whatever "fact" you feel absolves you from the deal that we agreed upon. (thumbs u
  22. Yes, in a new pm thread separate from the original sent to him on 11/27 at 9:10 am.
