  1. A warehouse find to our benefit. Now the trick is to find a nice one with a good wrap. Issue #33 is the easiest of the first 50 to find in high grade with over 211 copies in 9.4 or better. For comparison, next up with the most would be issue #45 with 146 copies in NM or better.
  2. I've been trying to decide which books to grab next for my collection, so I took a look at the census. May be common knowledge for most, but found the following interesting about graded copies of the first fifty issues of the ASM run. Issues with the most copies graded… 1. #1 with 1587 2. #14 with 1480 3. #50 with 1419 4. #40 with 1148 5. #39 with 968 6. #19 with 921 Issues with the fewest copies that are VF/NM or better… 1. #11 with 31 2. #1 with 33 3. #2 with 40 4. #4 with 48 5. #3 with 61 6. #5 with 62 7. #7 with 64 8. #12 with 75 9. #28 with 75 10. #6 with 80 Issues with 9.9 graded copies (there are no 10's)... 1. #19 with 1 Issues with the most 9.8 graded copies… 1. #33 with 25 2. #47 with 11 3. #45 with 10 4. #30 with 7 5. #19 with 6 6. #43 with 6 7. #49 with 6 8. #8 with 5 9. #17 with 5 10. #29 with 5 11. #34 with 5 12. #50 with 5 Issues without a 9.8 graded copy... 1. #14 with 21 in 9.6 2. #7 with 9 in 9.6 3. #9 with 9 in 9.6 4. #28 with 6 in 9.6 5. #11 with 5 in 9.6 6. #4 with 3 in 9.6 Issues with the fewest NM or better copies... 1. #4 with 9 in 9.4 or better 2. #2 with 11 in 9.4 or better 3. #1 with 12 in 9.4 or better 4. #11 with 13 in 9.4 or better 5. #23 with 13 in 9.4 or better 6. #3 with 14 in 9.4 or better 7. #28 with 17 in 9.4 or better Based on the above, I think I'm going to target #11 ( ) and #4.
  3. Worth watching. Interesting that he mentions Frank Miller Dark Knight #1 being worth $30 back then as a good investment. Does anybody know what the book value of it is now? $65 in NM, according to OS. I sold my last NM copy for $18.75
  4. Sweet books, Frank. They're all perfectly centered too. Is that by design? Nice additions Frank! Thank you! Did the #44 used to be one you owned? Don't have it in hand, but extremely happy to have added this today, as an upgrade to my 8.0...
  5. Sweet books, Frank. They're all perfectly centered too. Is that by design? It is
  6. Although the 25 was added a couple weeks ago, here are the recent additions to my collection.
  7. And because I don't love the lighting or focus issues on the group shot... The stuff of dreams. I'm amazed at the quality of your run. Regardless of the grades (which are stellar), the wraps, the PQ, and the colors make for just absolutely gorgeous books. Clearly you were picky in putting it together. Fantastic
  8. I'll be posting 50-75 books in GA/SA/MA later today or tomorrow. All but a couple are raw. A few low grade, but most of the books are nice. All the big marvel titles will be represented and I'll even be posting a few DC's, including a few nice Bat's.
  9. Not a fan. We had worked out a deal for a high grade slab through eBay messaging. Told me to put the offer we agreed to through and he would accept it. Put the offer through at midnight on a weekday and he messaged me back later that night, saying the book had sold while he was trying to accept the offer. Could have I suppose, but would have been for the highest price ever for the grade and book according to GPA. Also, the last time I looked, the book was still listed on his site for sale (weeks after the "deal"). Again, could have been legit, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, I had bought a high grade raw book that had a water stain on the front cover and I didn't agree with the NM grade. Messaged him and he took care of it with a partial refund. Book was part of that "fire mountain" run he was selling through eBay a year or so ago. My opinion after that was that if it's a book that he's selling raw, there's a reason it's not in plastic. He slabs the nice books. I'm pretty sure he's a board member, but not overly active.
  10. Picked up a nice Spidey slab from Don. Book arrived in great packaging and before the check cleared Thanks again Don.
  11. 9 hours seems like a short period of time to me, to make an offer and then move off of it without any idea if it's going to be accepted or not. Did you tell him you wanted a response back in seven hours?
  12. I'm one of the 3 that have not received the books as well. And no response to my PM (not read either as well). I assume at this point I should just begin Paypal refund proceedings until further notice? Or am I jumping the gun here? I sure wouldn't let the deadline for opening one pass
  13. Bought and received a nice stack of Spidey slabs from Brock. Packaged well and arrived quick
  14. Just opened a nice box of Spidey slabs Dan shipped. Thanks again Dan

  17. Brian picked up a few books in my last sales thread. Great to deal with as always
  18. Purchased from Adrian and was very happy with the transaction
  19. I bet a lot of people were looking at the average sale for an 8.0 (around $135) and the hammer price for the last Lee/Romita SS 7.0 that went for $99.
