Artistically, not the best piece. Characters are small, it’s more of a panel page than a splash page. What I like is it has 5 main Marvel characters on it.
HOWEVER, what this piece has going for it is history. It’s a historic piece of Marvel. It is very early Spider-Man, early FF, and retells parts of ASM #1.
As a piece of art: 6/10
As a piece of Marvel history: 9/10
Overall 7.5 rating for me.

Another question would be, what do they look for during the process? Also are the QC people familiar with comics? Because the book I posted, clearly had the writer/artist's name on it, plus a 10-cent book would not be from 1986, so there were two things that should have been on a check list not just one. I get that people make mistakes, I also get that there are a limited amount of people who are willing to work in Sarasota and know a lot about comics...but training for the people who are there seems to be an issue.
Even easier than that would be to look for the July cover date on the comic not matching the 10/1986 label date!

While this is a stunningly vibrant page, which any collector would be happy to own, it also contains some of the elements of his work that bother and distract me. Take a look at that left leg of Cap’s. Did he dislocate it? And, why does it seem to be longer than his other leg? Then, there’s the window angle compared to Cap. From a composition perspective, it’s tilted shape makes sense. But then why is Cap jumping almost straight out? Was the floor crooked? Now, none of this changes the fact that it is a great piece, but I really don’t like these types of mistakes.
If you don’t like these “mistakes” you’ll hate the even more exaggerated “mistakes” of Todd McFarlane’s anatomy.

Kirby had his hand on so many things from 1940's-1990's. Superheroes, Romance, Westerns, Crime, Monsters, back to Superheroes, etc. He had a hand in creating a ton of characters & even the genres themselves! I'm struggling to think of 1 thing Adams actually created. He was good at advancing the art of already established entities, but created almost none by comparison.
Artistically they are too different to compare. You either like the styles they implemented or you didn't. I appreciate both!

So sad! I met Neal Adams several times. One time in particular he was at a bar after a day at a con back in 2014. He was telling us all (a court of 10-15) many stories of his early days back at DC. He was quite the story teller!

The first is my 2021 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116503, the next is my 1990 Rolex Submariner-Date, the third is my 1961 Rolex Oyster Perpetual (it still has the original strap), then my 1961 Omega Seamaster. Then my non-watch photo - my 1985 Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole.

Got a lot in common with my dad. He’s got a watch collection, car collection, and did have a red 308 years back. Here he is in one of his two Lamborghini’s at a car show. This one is a ‘72 Miura SV.

The fact that it is sideways art, does that help it or hurt it?

Not in my wheelhouse as a collector, but that seems like a crazy low number to me. I'll take the over for sure.
The fact that it looks like the entire book is up for auction, collectors will have a lot of choices. One already said they prefer the splash to the cover. 300k plus juice plus tax is actually a 400k purchase! I could be off, probably am. I guess we’ll see.

I realize the market is very volatile at the moment, but I’m curious as to what folks think the McSpidey 16 cover will go for?
300k + juice.

It's not a pedigree. He side by sided the MH with the copy he has and his copy was better. That guy has proven to be the most astute buyer of high grade comics ever, and it is clearly out of love as he's not sold any of the top books without an upgrade.
It’s possible in todays arena, the MH is better than his, why? 30-35 years back, the MH was viewed as a restored 7.0 to 8.0, depending on who you asked. Everyone knew it was restored, with some resto having been removed since those days, such as piece removal. If the other copy was only a 6.5, by default a 6.5 unrestored trumps any restored copy, MH or not! Flash forward to the world of restoration removal, grading and grading bumps, it’s not so clear.
I know nothing about the other copy, never seen it. I’m only suggesting 1 possible outcome. Until a grading company verifies the other copy, this is all we have, guesses!

He had a deal in place to buy every MH Redbeard had, and did so for many, many years. Towards the end of his deal, he felt paying 150k for a "low grade" Mile High was not in his best interests, so he passed on the book. The book made it's way to Bechara.

Congratulations -you're rich! (measured in art or money)
Or maybe not, after all?
For about twenty years now I've considered "trading up" a terrible way to collect and haven't done it. Why? Because you are strip-mining your bench* to add a single star. I had done a bit of that very early on but found the practice leaving me feeling a bit empty. One new star in, bench cut in half. Bah! So then around that time, when my cumulative collection value was approximately what it would take, I tested myself with a thought experiment: would you trade it all for one top Frazetta oil? Answer: no. And that was that, I haven't looked back since.
A much better idea, which I've practiced ever since, is to just pour as much new money as possible in -and be happy with what that level of spending buys. It's true that the first ten years of the new century, when prices were not moving up more than 10% or so a year, some years not particularly at all, some discipline and faith were required to stick to that plan but those were also the years when I was accumulating a ton of art, as my income was (still, then) climbing faster than prices! That's the essence of buy low and like any dollar cost averaging (DCA) plan, you will buy less and less quantity (for the same periodic outlay) as you climb the price ladder (which is a sign that your early faith was well-founded after all) but you'll also see the value of your existing accumulation (your bench!) to date rising along with. And...
Which means you can still buy "today" like yesterday and for around the same money, meaning just as many pieces coming in and approximately just as much thrills (a much anticipated package arriving several times a week if not every day) as before...if you're flexible on content. Are you collecting art or certain specific nostalgic characters/titles/companies/era? Your answer there is going to drive it all. To those that most/all of the above doesn't work for...I wish you the best and it's well past time to buckle down and get another degree or suite of professional designations along with a second job as you're going to need to double your income every year to keep up with the limited pool of art you're stuck on that's also doubling every year. No snark, just how it is.
*Imagine if the New England Patriots hadn't had a sudden QB health problem requiring promotion of Tom (from The Bench) and instead Drew stayed healthy and NE traded Tom away for a "star" replacement a few seasons later? Lots of (future) stars start off riding the bench, just like the mountains of 1980s Marvel panel pages I was buying for less than $50/page 25 years ago -glad I kept 'em!
Do you want 1 Michael Jordan or 20 Joe Blows? Quality over quantity! All day, every day!

How long to you typically leave comics in for?
My advice: Go to your LCS and buy 1000 books from their 25¢ boxes & press everyone at least once! Then you MIGHT be ready to press something of value. Seriously!
