  1. Never too late. Nice solid copy and welcome to the club!
  2. Be if you show it to the club when you get it back.
  3. Well, one of the 4.5s is my copy, but I believe that the label was submitted as well so it should mean there is one less 4.0 copy from the last census. Regarding your 4.5. If you did send your label for the 4.0...then it is correct that there are 31 copies of 4.0.
  4. I'm just very amazed and . With all the recent additionals Showcase 22 added to the CGC census yesterday, why aren't there any 5.5 and under for sale in the marketplace...at least those are the more affordable copy.
  5. If I have seen your copy...I would made an offer...but it wouldn't have been sufficient for you.
  6. Was this copy to be held in his private collection, or is the buyer most likely to flip it? Sounds like a flipper (I really don't know) if he is willing to pay the premium for a raw 8.5 or 9.0. Rick probably has a better sense. one thing the GA crowd knows about me, that the SA crowd might not (well, except Nik, rest in peace, he knew) is that folks LOVE to buy my 8.0's and 8.5's raw.... I sold Nik several 8.0's and 8.5's and all came back 9.0 and 9.2 from cgc Rick, well done! Everyone's happy Indeed, seems like a nice sale! But why didn't you slab it yourself and put it in an auction? Do you feel like the HA 9.0 sale still might not beat your sale price? If Rick was guaranteed a 9.0, Rick would have asked for a lot more. I think Rick was smart, not to take a chance if it came back as a 8.0 which he would have made only a little. Rick 2x+ is money...why take take a chance and he also made his customer very happy.

  11. Do you know who owns the ComicLink copy? The CL copy looks like the best eye appeal copy unless the new 9.0 copy is also off-white pages and we need to see a scan of it.

  13. Hard to focus on the corners when my eyes keep being pulled back to the miswrap. This well explains why Showcase 22 does not exist in 9.2 or better; such as books like Brave and the Bold 28, Showcase 4, Flash 105, Green Lantern 1 SA. I don't think miswrap well explains why there are no > 9.0. There are plenty of SA miswraps that I've been surprised to see 9.6 and 9.8. Quite true. On another note, I just callled CGC for the graders note. They said the pre-graders graded it 8.5 and 9.0. They decided as an 8.5 with no questions asked. They also saild it's a very strong 8.5 and no notes about miswraps. I should have contacted them earlier for this. (thumbs u Resub it 10x...the law of probability & stats says it has to change (but up or down?)... kimik said he'd foot the bill for ya... It's like black and red...you and I should perhaps resub someday. It's a different of K's if you know what I mean. I guess someone was being very strict that day for grading my copy and the day they graded your copy. Do I sense WP for your copy for the next submission?

  16. The new scan has the bottom spine (near/around the bottom staple) looking a little more cream than the scan in 2006. Hard to tell because the colorings are not matching between the scans, though. What do you guys think? Heritage is known to alter their scans. I dont know about you guys but that book looks to have a good amount of wear on all 4 corners... My copy is just as nice...the four corners are a little bit better...why not a 9.0
  17. The new scan has the bottom spine (near/around the bottom staple) looking a little more cream than the scan in 2006. Hard to tell because the colorings are not matching between the scans, though. What do you guys think? Maybe the grey...gives us the optical illusion effect. Looks pretty consistent.
  18. Most likely it is the the one HA sold on 5-10-06. http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=820&Lot_No=2101&src=pr#Photo Since it has off-white pages...it might just be. It will be interesting to see if it is still the old holder or the new holder. We should be able to find out if this is the new 9.0, the old Heritage copy or the ComicLInk copy with the updated census. Wow, we have the 8.0 Mound copy and the Heritage 9.0 up for sale. At least we know the Heritage sale will be in the GPA data. (thumbs u Photo is up. Same copy as one sold 3 years ago. Hopefully, the seller will make a little profit on it. Yelp, the same copy. Gary is going to have a nice handsome return . I previously estimate 9.0 copy with crm/ow is value between $40000-50000 and since it is off-white it may fetch $48000-60000. Very clean copy and such a rarity! (thumbs u
  19. Are you currently looking for one? What range? I'm currently in the market for a 9.0 or a 9.2 with white pages and good eye appeal . I'm picky when it comes to comics.
  20. That's quite true. The classic Neal Adams Green Lantern run helped GL sales back in the 70's...I believe this is the most popular Adams art run next to the Batman he did. I just can imagine how many people would love to complete this run now. I still don't own a GL 76
  21. That was an unheard of price back then and page quality is not as a big issues as it is now for SC22. I actually was watching that auction till the last seconds. I had a brief conversation with Mark that day and he couldn't believe the price he got it for it. I guess a few collectors knew this is one of the few high page quality copy out there and willing to pay a premium.
  22. Three pages back. It did not generate much interest yet. I wonder if we will see some census creep. Are there some books in mylar that will be shook free and give us a 9.4 or 9.6. The census should be updated any day now. Showcase 22 is difficult to locate in high grade (9.2 and above) is because of the black, green, and grey cover. I really thought my copy had a chance to be a 9.0, but just not quite there. Imagine if no copy ever surface above a 9.0...then holders of 6.0+ club will be well rewarded. On another note, If you look at the 6.0+ list in the club, very few copies exist with ow/white pages. There is a SC22 2.5 (the only other white pager) with white pages out there and I'm willing to pay $2500 for it. Isn`t unbelieavble that this book lay dormant all these years then WOW! That`s why I love collecting comics. No kidding, my first few copies I have held on for 20 years! I guess all it take is a movie and a major storyline...and all this in less than a year. This book is still setting record prices and especially the minimum grade of 8.5 Rick sold just the last week for a mind boggling 30k+++. (thumbs u
