  1. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Someone asked me "Are were in a comic bubble" I believe we are in the 3rd inning and have a lot more room to rise (golden age and silver age quality material and high end) till this "bubble burst". Below are seven signs if we a in a comic bubble. 1) almost everyone you know talks about the rise of comics 2) many people begin to flip comics for a quick profit 3) many people spending their life savings and are cashing in their 401k to buy comics (I'm sure some of you out there have done this) 4) it's not about collecting anymore, but it's about making money 5) restored comics are rising rapidly too 6)five to ten comic related movies are made in one year. 7)single comic sold for a million dollar 8)more single comics reaching $500,000-1,000000 in auction house 9)Showcase 22 9.0 reaches $200000 (I add this one in just because I love SC22 so much)
  2. Thanks. Wish I had just jumped on a HG copy of SC #22 a couple of years ago now to complete the run! Are you looking for a 7.0 and above? That foolkiller copy looks very sweet, maybe negotiate a better price. If the Green Lantern movie does well and if there is a sequel, all Green Lantern comics will do very well. (thumbs u
  3. You are accumulating a high grade GL collections. (thumbs u
  4. Nice page quality. Wow! If it wasn't trimmed or color touch, this copy might just be your twin copy Brannon.
  5. There's a Showcase 22 8.5 restored on ComicLink and the seller wants $10000. That 6.5 CGC copy sold recently for $5k was a bargain. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dshowcase%2B22%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26ItemType%3DCB&id=823307
  6. Good luck with the sale, Brian. (thumbs u That's a very nice all around 7.0 copy. This is the only copy above 6.0 for sale in the market place right now. (thumbs u
  7. You do have a point on the dust shadow...but I feel it's just a wee bit too much. From my experience, I know CGC downgrades 9.6 to 9.4 if it had a slight dust shadow. If you go to Heritage archives and get a bigger scan of the Nicolas copy, you will notice there are a bit more color breaks and imperfections than the Keller copy. I feel this copy is stronger than the Mound City copy though, but a weaker 8.5.
  8. I have to be honest about this. After seeing a larger scan of the Nicolas Cage copy on Heritage, I just don't see it as a 8.5. The dust shadow on the right is quite visible. This is the weaker 8.5 in my opinion.
  9. Do you mean the whitish scuff near along the spine in the grey area? Maybe printing defect in most copies.
  10. I dont' think this has been posted in the club yet. The Nicolas Cage SC22 copy. [/img]

  13. As you all well know, this club is about SC22. We have found out a great deal of information this year. What other thread can you think of which has such a tremendous growth. We should thank kimik for starting this thread. Not many would have anticipated this surge in demand for the book and interest in this thread. At the end of the day, when demand for SC22 wanes down, so will this thread.
  14. Totally worth its money. I have no idea why it doesn´t sell Still around three hours left to bid and anything can happen. You collect any other comics, or just this one? Yeah...golden age, silver age, bronze age, and copper age since I was 12 years old. Just love it!!! Superman is my favorite, next is Green Lantern, and last but not least...Spiderman. If you see my signature...the Amazing Spiderman #1 I bought it when I was 16 years old with my paper route money. (thumbs u

  16. Who's going to be the next 6.0+ member? This auction is ending today. http://cgi.ebay.com/Showcase-22-CGC-FN-6-5-1st-Green-Lantern_W0QQitemZ220510617557QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335774ffd5
  17. Respectfully disagreeing, I don't think there is a 9.2 sitting out there. If so, someone would have graded it years ago. Once CGC was on firm ground, I think most of the ultra HG SA DCs surfaced. Just using my knowledge and soapboxing for alot of the oldies pertaining to this book. It's always on the 'ole goodboy Christmas list for DC collectors, but Santa always disappoints them. Go sample the old CBGs (Comics Buyers Guides) and look in the ad pages. Betcha won't see many HG DCs for sale in them. Yes, DCs are in shorter supply than Marvels, esp 7 up. And I'd put SC22 near the top of the list. No kidding, I've pretty much done a daily search on ebay for SC22 for years. Maybe hit one nice match a month. Spiderman 1s? Daily matches by the dirt buggy ! I hear Tim has a 9.4 BB28. Personally, that's the first one I've ever heard of...much less being put in an auction house for sale !! But, I've been wrong before.... I think Peewee raises a good point, because almost all of the top SA DC mega-keys came into the Census from 2002-2004: 9.4 B&B 28 9.4 GL 1 9.4 and 9.6 Adventure 247 9.4 and 9.6 Aquaman 1 9.4 Showcase 34 9.4 B&B 34 9.2 Flash 105 (which has subsequently become the 9.4 Flash 105 that currently tops the Census) 9.4 Flash 123 There has been amazingly little movement at the top during the past 5 years. A few additional tied for highest grade copies have appeared, but mostly in the 2nd tier mega-keys like Showcase 34 and B&B 34. The only changes where a new top copy emerged that I can think of off the top of my head in recent years have been the 9.6 Showcase 4 (which displaced the 9.4 copy which had been in the Census from early on), the 9.6 JLA 1 (which displaced the 9.4 copy which had been there from early on) and the 9.6 Atom 1 (which displaced the 9.4 copy which had been there from early on). Even the Toth collection didn`t displace any top mega-key. Maybe prices like $59K will draw more Showcase 22s out of the woodworks, but $60K in more valuable 2003 dollars didn`t draw more B&B 28s out of the woodworks. It's going to be very hard to top that BB28 at 9.4. Aren't you glad Hong Kong dollars is peg to the US dollars. Your BB28 done a lot better than holding US dollars (which dropped over 40% against most currency).
  18. Showcase 22 CGC 2.0 cream-off white pages http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dshowcase%2B22%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26ItemType%3DCB&id=822984
  19. We are still waiting for the result of Rick's private sale copy. Also, aman619 has some really nice raw copies. Whenever he ever gets them graded, it will grade at least a 6.0+ . (thumbs u
  20. Yes...there is still a lot of copies out there that are not graded. But when they get graded...it's normally a 5.0 and under. Last census there wasn't any copies graded higher than a 4.5.
  21. Good point. Your ungraded SC22's will grade nicely in the 6.0+ club. (thumbs u
  22. passes showcase #4 as most valuable DC silver in grade (i think) Yes it has...but in reality, it is not worth more than SC4. SC22 9.0 is considered the 9.4 of it's kind.
