  1. Thanks Dark Knight. The preservation of this copy was astounding which I had to share with everyone. Nonetheless, the AF15 club deserve pictures of each interior page of Spidey's Origin and contents for others too see. This was really an awesome gesture, to photo the entire interior of such a high grade book. Thanks for sharing this. Thanks Straw-Man and Hudson. Hudson, I'm glad you enjoy it, for I can tell you love your books raw...BTW, awesome Action Collection there.
  2. And the price doesn't seem completely unreasonable fir a blue label 5.0 either. House or Tec 27 decisions decisions. Very tough! not tough at all---Tec 27 Have both! Okay, Tec 27.
  3. I sold one about 3.5 years ago for slightly more than $100K. The TV bump was starting at that point. It hasn't. As far as I know it's still owned by the same owner that won it in Heritage, who made it available on Clink for $500K. I spoke to the owner of the book as I thought I had an interested buyer but I couldn't get the buyer and seller in the same ballpark. Okay. Thanks. I remember the 9.6 was available at PGCmint and Comiclink for over 900K. I'm speculating high 300K will take it home.
  4. The last two Hulk 1 sale: a 9.0 275K, 9.2 375K is quite strong in the high grade. H1 in 7.5 and 8.0 has been softer in price compare to H1 9.0+ grades...the 7.5 and 8.0 grades may pay catch up as you mentioned. Last SC4 in 9.2 sold five years ago for 100K before the Flash movie/show bump. I'm not sure what the SC4 9.6 last changed hands at (after the HA sell of 175K), but don't think a SC4 9.0+ will out price H1 in 9.0+. As others stated, SC4 in <7.5 has been out pricing H1 for sometime now. It's more of which books are more valued in their perspective grades.
  5. Thanks you so much. I'm very happy and fortunate to have acquire this copy. Your copy and Spider-Man run is out of this world. A very elite collection of books there Barton.
  6. It's was a high dollar expensive upgrade. I always felt your copy was worth that much a few years ago. All I can say is... -J. I always enjoy looking at your Signature, all those cool keys/monster keys.

  9. I'm very happy with my upgrade and it still retains its' White Pages. This is one of my favorite book of all time. Also, I have taken pictures of the interior of this book for all the Spider-Man aficionado to enjoy. All the Best. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
  10. Very nice 1.0 and great eye appeal. Will be better than most 1.5 out there
  11. Thank goodness they have a Make Offer button! I don't think too much of a discount since this book was sold in 2014 and up for sale again. That year two 9.2 sold for a record price.
  12. I've never had the desire to own this book. I'll see Harley Yee or some other major dealer at a show and ask to see their Hulk 1, AF 15, Adventure 247, but in all my years of collecting, I have never requested to see a Showcase #4. I can understand its significance as the 1st Silver Age book (although arguements can be made against it), but the Flash is a second tier DC character, and the Silver Age resurgence of Superheroes was 50 years ago and for folks in my age group (between 30-40), it doesn't mean a lot. We always had Superhero comics around, and more significantly, Marvel Superheroes. Having said all of the above, I see this book dropping several notches in desirability and relative OPG value against other books in the next few years, but that's just my opinion. Anyone think otherwise? Anybody remember the book's price range at the time of this post in 2010? In 2010 I sold cgc 4.0 for 3200 Cgc 7.5 was 20k Wasn't the 7.5 you were offering in 2014?
  13. I recalled the 4.0 was sold about a month later after the 6.5 sale.
  14. Whoa...what did I miss? Nothing...about 50 pages were deleted. Wow...it must had derailed this cool club. I'm glad it's back about the book.
  15. Whoa...what did I miss? Nothing much. Carry on with AF15 talk. If memory serves, there are at least 2 CBCS 9.6 restored copies. One is currently listed on HighGradeComics. I heard these talks before...missed it this time. I don't check CBCS census often..time to get updated.
  16. I wouldn't mention that on the AF15 thread... An AF15 9.2 recently sold a few months ago for 392K...so I would say both books are trending up...up and away. Is there a link to that sale or was it a private sale? If that is the case then AF15 is still king even in high grades. Here's the link on CGC news https://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=5322& Hulk 1 is more rare than AF15 in 9.0+; hence, the strong price for H1 in this grade. Personally, I think the lone 9.4 Hulk #1 would give people whiplash if it came to market. I could see it pushing $1MIL book at this point. I would think it would flirt with that mark too unless another 9.4 miraculously showed up.
  17. This year. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/detective-comics-27-dc-1939-cbcs-restored-vg-45-extensive-amateur-off-white-pages/a/7124-91043.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Last year. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/detective-comics-27-dc-1939-cgc-apparent-vf-75-extensive-a-5-off-white-pages/a/7104-92029.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 Been a while for a blue label. Although there were private sales. Also a blue label voldey in 3.0 sold about two years ago for 300K, and about a year ago Metro sold a blue 4.0 450K, a blue 6.5 725K.
  18. That would be foolish on the part of its owner. Would be...and bad ethics...but than again the owner got the upgrade. Maybe he just hasn't gotten around to it. I still like to think of a fresh 9.6 to market. Possible and all speculation right now.
