  1. The new movie is so distant. Maybe the market sense Hal Jordan is under owned and under value.
  2. Those are. Especially the 3.0 which would be a GPA high. -J. Yes, record price on the 3.0. Almost a 30-40% jump across all grades within a year. Long term holders are doing well and looks look the bad movie of the past has not affected recent prices. That movie is (mercifully) fading from memory and it looks like DC is doing some interesting things with the character and concept of Green Lanterns in the new Rebirth launch. So yes, those who bought this book on the dip are sitting pretty right now. -J. It's like the housing crash...distant memory. Congrats on your low price pick-up. So much love for SC22

  4. Very strong prices tonight on Comiclink for SC22. Showcase 22 CGC 3.0 CRM/OW $1600 Showcase 22 CGC 4.0 OW $2351
  5. He also owns a Showcase 4 CGC 8.5...so he most likely would bid on a 8.5+ copy.
  6. If there were equal amounts of SC4 left in existence similar to AF15....the value for SC4 will crash down in price. Showcase 4 is one of the book which scarcity and demand causes the high price. Again, the Golden Age books like Action 1, Detective 27..and others are value so high...again due to the scarcity and demand.
  7. If the SC4 trends continues...possibly yes. This recent SC4 surge might cause a price spike to AF15.
  8. Now at 7k, an all time high on GPA for that grade. DC books are really doing well in this auction. Could be that people are realizing how affordable the 22 is compared to the 4. And how tough it also is above a 5.0.... -J. That's a very nice 6.0...but again SC22 has been undervalued. SC 22 6.0 closed at $8k. -J. Again, very nice copy. SC22 6.0 under 6K days are over.
  9. Wow!! I'm pretty sure I owned this gem once. White pages and a white back cover to boot. I busted it open. It's the scanned book below my id. Congrats! I still have it. It's staying with me You still have that beautiful 6.0 as well? Thanks. Unfortunately the 6.0 is gone. Someone has a nice 6.0. Bummer! Would have loved to have had a crack at it. I believe it sold after you upgraded to a 6.0.

  12. I KNEW the guy who got that CGC 9.0 copy a little while back on comic link got a helluva deal. -J. Yup...crazy price for this one...AF15 is on fire.

  14. It's nice. Just don't understand why they don't CGC'ed it. Looks to me those in the market for a bargain minty copy have found their book. BTW I know Borock is grader over there and he used to be the toast of the town back in the day when he was primary grader here but his rep has taken quite a hit on these boards. I personally bought a 6.0 i was very happy with recently. Has the grading by and large really been that loose over there or are books getting under GPA mostly due to lack of name recognition? Been out of the loop so a brief update on the situation would be appreciated if anyone has the time. The market for CGC books tends to perform better than the other company in the same grades (if same structurally too). CGC has been more stricter lately which makes the other company grades to be a bit softer.

  16. I know who owns the book and I offered it to a few prospective buyers and there were no nibbles at anywhere close to half of the asking price. Showcase #4 was a slow book for a long time, regardless of it's value in OSPG. For whatever reason, DC buyers in the past just have not spent as much on SA keys as Marvel buyers have. I did sell several Showcase #4's during the run up including a 9.2, 9.0, 8.0 and several lower grade copies but haven't sold one in over a year but I have followed the market. That's why I disagree with blanket statements like 'Hulk #1 is #3 now'. In lower grades SC #4 may be trumping it because of relative availability but in higher grades Hulk #1 still a more expensive book in my opinion. Also, I've learned that peculating what a book would sell for is futile. Only the people shelling out the money know what they'll pay for it. The AF #15 thread is a perfect example of that. Many people thought the book would hit $500K easy and it came about 10% short. I do have a customer who wants a VF or higher copy of SC #4 if someone want to part with one. When was the book shopped around? Before the end of the 3rd quarter 2015? Showcase 4 jumped quite a bit in sub 6.0 grades after this period of time. I understand you sold quite a bit of high grade copies of this book , but all before? Not too much data for 6.0+ copies recently. The 7.5 being offered on CC next month will test the higher grade mark for this book….even a 7.0 in auction would be something to watch. Regarding the AF15 9.4 which recently sold in Heritage: I believe CGC would have graded the book a 9.6 if it was more “fresh and bright”. I was one of the folks that didn’t think it would hit 500K, but for sure no less than 400K. Books in the 500K is definitely in a arena of its own and the pool is quite thin as you said. With many recent sales data...SC4 is the second in term of value in sub 6.0 grades...and the market will decide in which book in the higher grade. I'm almost 100% certain A SC4 7.5 will sell for more than in H1 in the same grade appeal. FF1 is hardly included in these "who is number 2" discussions. FF1 would be in this discussion pre-2015....Hulk 1 and SC4 took the leap post-2015.

  18. Not a problem. The scarcity of SC4 drives the high price. If BB28 and SC22 was as scarce as SC4, price will double in prices for those two books...of course everything is supply and demand too. Books will be in cycles and this is definitely a strong cycle for SC4 and H1.
