  1. The operative words being right now. If they screw up the character too much, fans might defect from Spidey. You mean Hulk right. Your 6.0 is a pedigree...hard to beat that.
  2. This is my old copy that I bought in 1991 from John Verzyl. For those of you who know the collection, this is the Daniel Erwine copy. The 2 biggest defects on the book is the chip out of the spine & someone (before I owned it) started to erase Daniel Erwine's name from the bottom of the 1st page. They put a small hole in the paper. The book has no Marvel chips or tears at all, a real beauty as a 7.5! It looks like an 8.0 all day long. Has the gray background become yellowish? Surely, that is the scan. -J. This copy sold on EBay in late 2011. The seller will do very well. Nice copy! $20k net before fees Would be if the buyer was the purchaser in 2011 and the seller now. Congrats on your new 7.0. I remember in the old AF15 club, it was discuss that it took to 6.0's to get a 7.0. But now two in 5 ers' will do it...well done.

  4. AF15 is the KING of the SA. Showcase 4 is on par with Hulk 1 right now...let those two battle it out.
  5. The 6.0. . That's about on par with what an AF 15, 5.0 would bring. The 5.5 AF 15 with the gnarly dog ear went for about $20.3k. -J. Damn you're right. I guess i was reminiscing the days when a 7.5 could be had at that price Ah yes, way back in early 2013. I remember like it was yesterday. -J. I think in 2013 was like 26.5 and you need to go back to 2011 in the 14.2..
  6. Wow, really incredible copy! thanks I want that 8.5 SS #22 in your sig line ! WOW Sorry it resides in my collection. For your information, there are four 8.5's: The Nicholas Cage copy, The Mound City copy, The Metro copy, and my copy. The books in your Showcase Sigature is just outstanding!!!
  7. Thanks everyone for the really nice comments regarding the SC22 WP'S. It's pleasant to have new members here. I believe Oakman's OW/W was from our Gator the man.
  8. Graded: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-361-CGC-9-8-White-Pages-Hot-Venom-Carnage-Movie-/171532716283?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item27f02588fb -J. Nice well centered copy to boot!
  9. Yes it is. Definitely not a surprise at all. (thumbs u -J. When ASM 361 2nd print came out, I recalled the print run was around 50,000. Do you have any documentation for this? It would be nice to have that sourced. Thanks! Back in the 1990's, it was rumored (or from the information passed to me) that the Marvel gold and silver 2nd printings had a print run between 50-100K. The ASM 361 definitely had a smaller print run compared to the others 2nd prints. But no documentation, or contemporaneous information, huh...? I don't doubt you, I'd just like to have documented proof. It's like the much bandied about 10,000 print run for the Spidey UPC Gold. That was the number given out at the time, but does anyone have any proof? Like for the 35 centers, at least we have Sol Brodsky's letter, to peg them at about 1500 copies. Dealers have mentioned orders for the 2nd printing with the announcement from Marvel/Diamond/Capitol City "stating print runs on certain 2nd prints". It would be nice to see a proof on print run statistics regarding the 2nd prints. I do recall Alpha Flight 106 2nd print had a print run of 50K (unfortunately I do not have printed documents regarding this).

  11. Yes it is. Definitely not a surprise at all. (thumbs u -J. When ASM 361 2nd print came out, I recalled the print run was around 50,000. I was very fortunate to pick up about 30 really nice 2nd prints in the mid-1990's for about a $1 each. Out of the 30 copies, 8 did score a 9.8. (thumbs u
  12. This book is heating up. The first printing is firmly selling for more than the 2nd printing.
  13. Keep in mind CRM/OW books may get a higher page designation on a regrade. Since page quality can be border line, the discount could be in your favor.
  14. For a matter of fact...Showcase 22 has been picking up stem lately. Popularity and price movements moves in cycles. You recall when SC4 and BB28 have done nothing for a while and exploded in popularity. Green Lantern will be back in vengeance.
  15. Yes...sir....You got that awesome Showcase #4 Savannah...with OW too
  16. Congrats Bob for a great set. An awesome achievement and you have great passion for DC's.
  17. BIG congrats! That's the best looking SC4 for its' grade.
  18. Good points. But I believe that Blazing and I both recognize that the market can be irrational and inconsistent. IH 180 valued much lower than IH 181. Some say its not a first appearance. And, frankly, for me the issue is not value (for blazing it is), it is story continuity and completion. If you want to be a Teen Titans completest, you have to own BB 54 as that's the origin and first appearance of the team. BB 60 is the second appearance of the team, first appearance of the name and Wonder Girl, and a great and desirable comic. The only reason why I think anyone would want to talk down BB 54 as the Teen Titans first appearance (and exclude it from the canon of Teen Titans stories) is to boost the value of BB 60, and blazing readily admits that is what he's trying to do as he expands his hoard of BB 60s. I agree the market can shift, but BB54 has been established as the first Teen Titans for so the longest time. Unless the next herds and generations shift to BB60 which could happen, but I really don't think so. I feel the market is so speculative with so much shilling and hoarding causing bubbles on certain books, which can end badly.
  19. That may not be the case long term, the trend is FP 1 FP1 is so common...maybe folks want to root for FP1. No me.
  20. The market is what it is. Check out Superman Man of Steel 17 (doomsday cameo), but is valued much higher than Superman Man of Steel 18 (full doomsday). Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen 134 (Darkseid cameo) valued much higher than Forever People 1 (full Darkseid).
  21. Get all three editions centered. I always love this book.
  22. A SC4 9.2 sold in 2011 for 100K...so this 9.6 should be around 400-450K. Come-on...a Hulk 1 9.2 sold for 320K.
