  1. Showcase 22 will march higher...and make new highs.
  2. Man, wasn't that smudge...would have been an 8.0+. That 7.5 was offered on CL a few years back.
  3. But your previous copy granted me entry..... Wow phenomenal copy. Major congrats. This book is definitely picking up again. -J. White pages is very rare for this book. It is too! Congrats on finding a SC22 for your registry.
  4. There is only a few 8.0 with off-white and all 8.5's with cream/white. Showcase 22 in cream/off white is the norm. You high standards will cut you out in 8.0's copies.
  5. oops! I'm getting old. I can never remember names I advocated for names to be added to profiles Great idea!
  6. no way to know for sure...I would say very comperable For some reason, there has been a lot more coverless TEC27 in the marketplace than coverless Action 1.
  7. May I ask how old you are?? I'm not that old...I hope. 27 has been biting 1's heels for years. And isn't Batman more widely considered the most popular character in the hobby today? Also, in the 90's, how many years did OSPG rank 27 as the #1 most valuable book? I think both book was tied in terms of OSPG starting in 1990 and TEC 27 has been ahead most of the 1990's. I understand Babe Ruth is the more popular player in term of Baseball than Honus Wagner, but the Honus Wagner T-206 is the holy grail in the Baseball card world.
  8. I see Rick's point. Since A1 is an earlier book...which book exists in less quantity Rick?
  9. May I ask how old you are?? I'm not that old...I hope.
  10. I feel the 5 more "valuable" known books in the hobby are Mile High action 1 (raw) Allentown tec 27 (raw) 9.2 w page tec 27 (cgc) 9.0 w page action 1 (cgc) 9.0 c/ow page action 1 (cgc) the 9.8 cap 1 is pushing the top 5 for sure.... the 9.4 aa 16 wouldn't even make top 10... Good to know. Have you seen it ?
  11. Thanks. That's the link. Maybe you'll find something for yourself.
  12. You needn't be with what I see in your signature I have more not display I have one book you collect you would love to see. . . . and so, where is it GA WW.
  13. One of my new favorite book. From the Southern Belle Collection. Love the providence of this book.

  15. Exactly. Other than an auction I'm just as lost. There have been a couple of 8.5s sold. From 7-8 not so many. A 9.0 went for 75k in 2014 so the book is still going up. Since 2013 6 more copies have entered into the census from 7.5 and up. Yup, very few 7.0-7.5 have changed hands. Test your copy at auction and we'll find out Glad you kept your copy and didn't move it last year. I overpaid when it went up on Heritage with this strange feeling it would pop in price. The registration is near perfect. It was non-cream. I bled when I paid for it. Now, I wouldn't sell it. It's just nice to see it's doing well and I wonder if the TV show would entice anyone under the age of 30 to actually buy a physical book and read it. At that time, you "paid a record price for the grade". Now it's a "bargain". Nice pick-up and a copy that presents well. Yes, the TV show has "ignited this book".
  16. Very nice Bob. I'm jealous of yours and others showcase run.

  18. Wow, it's at $70k now! Holy cannoli wow. Around 2006 or 08 that book sat around forever on one of the sites at either 15 or 17 K. Finally I think Metro bought it and it sat on their website at 25K for several years. I recalled the Mohawk copy sold at CC auction for around 25Kish in 2006. I wonder if the buyer did not pay for it and it end up at Metro site.
  19. woah those are two mega keys congrats Most definitely I've consigned a few high dollar books with CC and have always been pleased with the results. You should do fine. +1 That 7.0 should hit 50k or more easily If great eye appeal and structure. Yes...easily. U think? There hasn't been a 50K+ sale on GPA in a few years. It looks terrific…here's the link to pic… http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5836550#Post5836550 and the Bat… Sharp AF15..no chips. Your Bat 1 put mine to shame. 20. You'll be the first one if I decide....because you almost pried it off my hands years ago Maybe...another one will show up.. I was considering asking you to trade your SC22 8.5 for my SC4 5.5 OW, but you have a SC4 7.5 already.... Thanks for thinking of me. There hasn't been any new SC22 in 8.5+ in the CGC census for about five years. The last 8.0 sold in Heritage in 2013...it tells me SC22 is very rare in 8.5+....anything 7.0+ plus is tough. It has always been very interesting just how tough this book is in grade. Only 15 copies on the census in 8.0 or better making it actually a tougher books than SC4 in high grade(16 8.0 or better SC4.) SC22 in 7.0-7.5 one day when the right copy comes along I won't be denied. Bound to be a SC22 7.0+ up for auction soon.
