  1. Not to mention it goes well with that awesome GL collection of yours.
  2. I think that there will be a bunch of copies on the market in a couple of months again, but the big spike in 2009 also forced a lot of fence sitters (including me) to finally get a copy of SC #22 that will sit in collections for a long time now. It seems like that is the pattern with SA DC collectors - they buy a copy to keep for the long run. WRT high grade books, the best known copy of SC #22 to date (Clink 9.0) is locked up tight. I think that SC #22 is so hard to find in 8.0+ that if you can afford to hold it you will. That being said, over the next decade I expect a number of new HG GA and SA collections to hit the market as long time collectors or their heirs cash out. While these boards are a good representation of the active collector set, there are a lot of old timers with collections amassed in the 50s, 60s and 70s that have yet to resurface. I am hoping the next decade will see some forgotten gems come to market - even if I can't afford them, I can appreciate them. (thumbs u I'm waiting for you to pop-out a 6.0+ out of the blue for the club.
  3. Showcase 22 in 5.0's+ are the grades which will increase the most in the long run. Not trying to dampen all the <5.0 holders here. Yes, I'm also a 5.0 and under holder.
  4. This had me thinking. I'll make a fun and speculated guess. How many are in collectors hands? I would image there would be 800-1000 How many are in dealers hands? This is a sizzling book for dealers to flip 10-20 copies. How many are for sale at the right price? 700-900 copies How many are not for sale at any price? less than <5 How much does the book have to escalate in value to get more to shake free? 3/4 of AF15's price. Let's do a fun blue label ratio test: 5.0+ Showcase 4 37.12% Showcase 22 29.10% Showcase 22 is more scarce in 5.0+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.0+ Showcase 4 5.07% Showcase 22 6.09% Showcase 4 is more scarce in 6.0+ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 7.5+ Showcase 4 12.12 % Showcase 22 5.06% Showcase 22 is more scarce in 7.5+ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- From the ratio test SC22 is more scarce in 5.0+ SC4 is more scarce in 6.0+ SC22 is more scarce in 7.5+
  5. Being on the boards is helluv fun and watching on Ebay is work.
  6. Congrats! Green Lanterns says "Welcome to the the club." Right on! Thank you, sir. Maybe one day I can have a stash like yours Thanks. Your were there at the right time and to score a 6.0 at a bargain price is an anomaly. Be proud and you are now part of the 6.0+ club.

  8. Congrats! Green Lanterns says "Welcome to the the club."
  9. Yes to the slab and three bows for the Savannah copy.
  10. Seems legit.Buyer's feedback stats are mostly GL purchases recently, and notes Fast payment. Likely was paid instantly with Buy-it-now and mailed Express the next day,Friday, and received yesterday....seems legit to me. I agree, this one is a good one and I bet it sold in lightning speed.
  11. Definitely a great upgrade opportunity since most copies are always 4.0 and under. Don't know, but I wouldn't be surprise if goes up into auction or resold soon as you said.
  12. I agree with all, it's a weak 6.0. The long crease in the top corner is a bit hard on the eyes. The price paid is a steal like the SC24 9.0 tan copy. There are only 12 6.0's and it this copy was graded in 2003, and is the only third graded 6.0 copy offered in the last three year. This is the first bargain SC22 6.0 ever to hit the market. The Mark Wilson SC22 6.0 sold in 2008 for $3250 and looks much better than this copy and of course this is 2011. Right now, a SC22 5.0 can't not be bought for less than $2500, so paying $2500 for a soft 6.0 (5.5) is not bad.
  13. I wonder if it's going to be re-sold anytime soon.
  14. It will be listed on the sales list as an anomaly. (thumbs u
  15. That is unheard of...you just don't see a 6.0...are we talking about 2008 here. Yeah...you could have been in the 6.0 club.
  16. Well...looks like a Ebay seller sold it and the transaction was good.
  17. I don't know if anyone saw this and maybe a boardie was lucky to snatched this. A buy it now for only $2495. http://cgi.ebay.com/Showcase-22-CGC-6-0-1st-Silver-Age-Green-Lantern-/260725440321?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb4727f41
  18. I think most semi-knowledgeable collectors have always had it as a SA DC Top 5 book. But that didn`t translate into a high value, since being top 5 SA DC in comic collecting circles is kind of like being in the top 5 at Cal Tech... in football. It's true. It never made it in the top five SA DC in value in the OSPG in it's life time and it needs some serious price adjustment it the guide. Is it always about money with you? I was thinking more about Top 5 in terms of importance/influence, which does not always correlate with most valuable. Overstreet always had Showcase 8 as the 2nd most valuable SA DC, probably because it was traditionally considered to be the 2nd SA DC. In looking back through Overstreet`s most valuable lists, it`s interesting how Showcase 9 always placed so high, and for quite a while Detective 225, even after Overstreet had already declared that the SA started with Showcase 4, which made the inclusion of Detective 225 in the most valuable SA list a bit nonsensical. No, but I do enjoy numbers. Flash105 has mentioned it was his top five most important and you as well. I agree, even SC9 has been and early book, it is just not as important. Maybe because she is a female character.

  20. It was a weak 4.5 and I thought it wouldn't break $1900...but it broke slightly above $2K. The $2K may be the new benchmark for 4.5's.
  21. Couldn't be a better time for anyone to add a MC1 or Whiz .
  22. Yeah, back then... book was always making headlines in the OSPG. It's a scarce book and it's no longer considered as important as Action 1 or Detective 27.
