  1. Well said. (thumbs u Let's hope the movie does well and lead to more DC movies, cartoons and video games.
  2. I think the bubble will burst if the book goes up another 200-300 percent were it is now. If it happens, it will come down 50% (crash). I wouldn't go against SC22 as it continues to climb. It's a scarce book compare to Amazing Fantasy 15 or Avengers 4. I sold one of my SC22 5.0 two years ago for $1100 and now is is over $3000. Obviously, a book can't go up in a straight line, but I wouldn't be surprised if prices pause, down or stay dormant after the movie is release.
  3. I would have been shocked if it had been an 8.5 without the rust. That crease along the top right corner/edge is what, close to 3" long? I wonder if the slight hint of color breaking crease along the corner you mention was not alarming by the graders. There is also a slight and more hint crease in GL's foot . Being a pedigree and the most prestigious book in the collection, it will get a $ premium boost. Does anyone have a close up of the back cover to see if there is any damage on it? The book received a grade boost for the looks of things for being a pedigree as well. If you go to Heritage. They do have large scan of the front and back of this copy.
  4. It will be interesting to see how the Mohawk Valley SC22 would grade since the PQ is under average.

  6. seems like the white strip is common in 8.0's. I do see the light soil. I don't know if anyone caught the slight...slight rust in the staples, otherwise it could have been a 8.5 and I wonder if it got a PQ bump for being a key.
  7. The biggest single book in the Savannah collection. The timing couldn't be better for this copy.
  8. No way under $20K...but perhaps $25K+...
  9. I know posting on the thread can be critical and judgmental because no body knows everything. One may know more on certain topic, has better comics, but it doesn't mean the person is a better living person. Everyone has there neat personality and traits and that's what make it fun and social. I have learned a lot and enjoyed reading your posts and seeing yours and everyone's cool books.
  10. Has a copy of SC 22 sold for over $100K? I would think a SC22 9.4 would sell for more than a BB28 in 9.4. There is no such thing currently. Therefore B&B 28 in 9.4 continues to be the 3rd most valuable SA DC book, behind the 9.6 and 9.4 copies of Showcase 4. That is true. If no 9.2 or 9.4 SC22...so no 100K book. From a price and grade point, a SC22 in 8.0-9.0 will fetch more then a SC4 or BB28 in similar grades.
  11. No, you're not chopped liver and no one is. My oversight for not changing in the master list. It's been updated now if you look back a page. Actually, your SC22 6.5 was listed as one of the record sale in my SC22 analysis. I did not snip for my 7.5 and I should have not have logged in the boards that day and I would have end up paying less. For a matter of fact, if I have seen the 7.5 in hand, I would have bid another 20% more.
  12. I'm sure lots of people want to see $1100 for 4.0 to add a copy. For a seller or a collector if it reaches there , but there is going to be heavy buying if it happens. The supply of graded copies in the open market are so scarce right now, your copy should sell quickly if price right. Maybe hold out a bit longer till 2nd quarter of 2011 and see where the prices might go . It will be interesting to see how your 22 grades out.
  13. Has a copy of SC 22 sold for over $100K? trading on inside information Maybe Tim knows something we don't know.
  14. Has a copy of SC 22 sold for over $100K? I would think a SC22 9.4 would sell for more than a BB28 in 9.4.
  15. Happy New Year to everyone. Here are some fun analysis from your die-hard SC22 fan. It has been a considerable year for Showcase 22. Two new high grades copies of SC22 surfaced, a 7.5 ow and a 8.0 ow "Savannah". In 2010, SC22 has gained and average of 15% across the border, but less parabolic than 2009 whopping 225% gain. 2010 started in a down trend but eventually found support in the 2nd quarter. There were a lot of record prices in 2010. Some of the record sales per grade were a 7.5 ow/ow for $12995, 6.5 cm/ow $7050, 5.5 ow $4481, 5.0 ow 3107, 4.5 lt/tn $2195. Other highlight sales were a 7.5 for $12369 and a 6.5 ow for $6500. Also, in 2010 SC22 has taken over Brave and the Bold 28 as the second most valuable DC Silver Age comic. It is still trailing Showcase 4, but it will be interesting to see how this will play out in 2011 and beyond. In the CGC census numbers, SC22 supply still remains scarce compare to Silver Age Marvel Keys. There is a strong support for SC22 and these are the key levels to watch for: $1100 for 4.0 and $2200 for 5.0, and $4000 for 6.0. If prices fall back to these area, it will be a buying opportunity. 2011 looks bright for SC22. The Green Lantern movie is in theaters in mid-July starring Ryan Reynolds and an animated GL cartoon on the horizon two months after. I see 2011 to be a very volatile, prices dictated by supply and demand, and if the Green Lantern movie will be a success or not. Good luck everyone!

  17. only other better price would be 10 cents off the newsstands in 1959 $1.00 flea market or 10 cent Savannah copy.
  18. That has to be the best price ever paid for a SC22 in 2010. If it get graded as a 4.0 $1700-2000 and that is incredible for $1. I bet you got deals like that too.
  19. I never had that happen before. But I would be disappointed to see a 9.8 SA becomes a 9.6 by the time they ship it.
  20. If you call tomorrow morn...you should be able to find out the grades. (thumbs u FYI, CGC is closed tomorrow, Dec 31st. Looks like sufunk have to wait till Monday.
  21. If you call tomorrow morn...you should be able to find out the grades. (thumbs u
  22. Nice! Looks like your books has been graded already and you can call in for the grades. (thumbs u If he's able to see the status as "scheduled for grading",as soon as it changes to "graded",if it hasn't already, he should be able to see the grades and not have to call. From my experience, most of the time I can during CGC business hours and find out the grades after schedule for grading shows up. Depends if they have just started the grading or finished it that day. If the schedule of grading showed early in the day, most likely the books are done graded and you may call for the grades.
