  1. Reach out with an apology (be a man about this). You've clearly admitted you've made mistakes and committed wrongs. Let him know you are sincerely sorry and see if there is anything you can do to repay his patience. If he says, no...then you've done all you can do. In that specific instance. But how about in the future? I don't know Adonis, but I know this isn't his first rodeo with pretty much the same issues. How would you like me to handle future issues? How about not have any issues? Don't bite off more than you can chew.

  3. Junk. Best $50 that I've ever spent. Not to rub salt in the wound...but it is now the ONLY 9.8 in the census. Just saying... I know Gift grade.
  4. I would say congrats...but it's Spider-Woman You'll be kicking yourself when avengers 7 comes out straight to video. Seriously though, I know it isn't easy to collect that series and some of the issues are incredibly difficult to find in UHG.

  6. Wrong place to whine about it. The correct response is "You don't get one." I was under the impression one could pm Arch and just ask for one.
  7. I always thought folks with custom titles trumped all others I can think of at least one person who proves that theory wrong Custom title envy No, just being a doosh

  9. So are the cancelled preorders for boardies? Is anyone filing a complaint? PL worthiness here. this is the general sales discussion thread not the PL one I figured you'd be along sooner or later.
  10. I would take 100 Cal's over 1 of the other guy
  11. You don't really believe this, do you? Even after all the good that has been done on here to help others selflessly when they needed such assistance, but were afraid to ask? Is this a continuation of your indignation over my comment about the other messsage boards? Seriously, take me out of your sights. Reread what I wrote. There are a few here that have hearts of gold and in the right places. But most . . . not so much. Public donations to charity do not a family make, otherwise me and the bell ringers at Target would be best friends. The few don't care about getting recognition for their generosity. They don't attach social climbing or getting a comic book in return for it. They do it because it's the right thing to do, and they do it quietly and selflessly. And they do it more often than we will ever know. Posting the same tired memes in birthday threads means nothing to me. Buying or selling to boardies means nothing to me. On the other hand, sending backstabbing politically-motived PMs about others, or mailing out a deceased boardie's comic book without protection in the cheapest way possible does. Maybe Christmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more! Thank you.
  12. Why, because I don't like Wizard magazine or feel that was one of the worst eras in comic books? Or just in general? Which I would totally understand
  13. [font:Book Antiqua]Wow that bring memories from a bygone era...[/font] Thankfully it's bygone.
  14. #3 is strong, I'd rank them 1,3,2,5,4. I will forgive you your error. I don't know how anyone could quantify which is the most iconic, but I know I personally prefer #1 By using quantifiable data, such as merchandising, for example. Please share it with me? Don't get me wrong, I like the image, I just never thought it as the most iconic.

  16. X-Force #2 raw is going for $20-25, lots are selling well. And X-Force #1 looks like it's graduated from the $0.25 bin to the $3 bin. Some of these are my recent auctions: X-Force #2 - 5 book lot = $22.70 each X-Force #2 - 8 book lot = current bid of $105 and 12 bidders, 1-day left X-Force #1 - 9 book lot = $3.67 each Not seeing the 8-count lot show up, either via the link, or going to your account. When you say "high grade" -- what grade(s) does that cover? Probably anything under 9.8, otherwise he likely would've had them slabbed.
  17. I think he can do whatever he wants, but I think it's risky in the sense that most of the books I've seen I would not agree with the grade just from looking at the scans. A book can look a lot different in hand, which on EBay can be both good and bad. It's not that risky. Most ebay buyers can't grade very well. It's a long established Ebay business model: Overgrade, accept completely refunded returns, but count on the fact that most buyers will never return anything overgraded either b/c they don't know or they don't care given the amount of money and the hassle of returning. I suppose you're right, the reward far outweighs the risk when you break it down that way. Plus you can just come here and "Grading is subjective! Hard to grade from scans!!" Would you agree it's fair to say that most people here who've submitted enough books to CGC have a pretty decent idea of what a 9.8 looks like? Gift grades aside. I won't speak for Tranny, but I would agree. Jim And if that's the case, the same people would probably have a good idea of what they would call a 9.8 raw within reason. And if they know this and label something a 9.8 which realistically isn't...would that be considered a little on the shady side?
