  1. No notice yet and cons further out have already cancelled My bet is if North Carolina doesn't have a stay in order in place by then or no restrictions on large gatherings it'll still be on. I will be missing it because I'm not taking the chance, which is a shame as it's my favorite convention city of the ones I go to during con season.
  2. Isn't that like saying you'd like a large, big salad?
  3. So, Greggy doesn't like cabana boys or shart bananas?
  4. Just bought a book and the turnaround was super fast. Book came in perfect shape and packaged really well, I would not hesitate to buy from him again.
  5. Superhero comics as we know them generally aren't meant for adults. Adults who can accept them for what they are will probably enjoy them more than people who 1) over analyze and 2) wish the books / characters to mature with them.
  6. Maybe if he started selling keyboards and mice like Gamestop?
  7. Anime Central in IL which was scheduled for mid May has been cancelled for this year. I suspect Heroes Con will also get postponed or cancelled but I have not been able to find any news on that.
  8. I thought it was suspension of disbelief? These are superhero comics, do we really need everything quantified? A wise comic book creator has said when you start worrying about how The Thing goes to the bathroom, it might be time to move on to another genre.
  9. When the trailer hit there was virtually no uptick in the prices of 9.8 Eternal Warrior #4. Looking at the trailer as a pure fan, it looks like they missed the boat on what could have been. I like Vin's movies so I will see this once it comes out on Blu ray or streaming.
  10. I know you were, I have him on ignore but since you quoted him I saw his post.
  11. This might be the first time I've ever heard anyone speak negatively of his FF run
  12. That is one of the contributing factors to why I don't buy and read many modern comics.
  13. It's odd, but the modern paper does have that glare / reflection that can make it difficult to read depending on your lighting. I do not experience the same thing when reading a 1980's Marvel graphic novel which uses very high quality paper
  14. Most cons have it in their terms of service that they do not allow bootlegs, but the booths still come. At Wizard World Chicago several years back I saw the police shut down one of those booths, but that's the only time I've ever seen that happen at any con I've attended.
  15. A lot of booths were selling homemade stuff using copyrighted characters, there was even at least one bootleg DVD booth and I know that's 100% illegal.
  16. I think what it comes down to is whose opinion you believe. I read much of the Ditko essays years ago and they didn't really wash with me then and I will admit that his (to me ) odd world view made me take what he said with several grains of salt. The essay he wrote about Spider-Man / Jack Kirby rang different with me because I know that the people who had Kirby's ear towards the end of his life had him believing that he had created the entire Marvel Universe single handedly.
  17. It wasn't Shooter either and I remember him being lambasted in the comic "press" about that issue in the early 1980's.
  18. Context is important. John Buscema saying he had a story torn apart by Lee is not the same thing as Ditko and Kirby claiming he's a thief. Did anyone think that seeing "Stan Lee Presents" meant he directly worked on a title? I didn't, not even a little bit. It's important to not just look at one side of the story, which is what's being portrayed here unfortunately.
  19. Yeah, where are the scathing comments from Gene Colan, John Buscema, John Romita, Roy Thomas, Marie Severin etc? You're getting one side of a story here unfortunately. No one ever claimed Stan Lee did it all himself, including Lee. Kirby's boot licks were in his ear so much towards the end they had him convinced he was solely responsible for the creation of the MU, including Spider-Man.
  20. Just back from the framer. Deadly Hands of Kung Fu by Neal Adams circa 1974
  21. One of my favorite lines I've heard him say is "don't be embarrassed about making a profit", between that and thinking about the long run as opposed to short term sales changed my entire business model
  22. Were any of them published authors with books on Amazon?
