  1. this thread needs a bump I have some free time so I dug out my SA Avengers readers and found a few decent books..enjoy (thumbs u
  2. awesome books...someday they will be on sale and it will be a fun day to see what kind of crazy prices they will command.
  3. There are two Pacific Coast X-Men #1 copies, the other one is a 9.8 white. Doug used to own both, but he upgraded the 9.6 to a 9.8 and sold the one pictured above. My memory is telling me this one was a 9.4 at some point, but I could be misremembering that. sounds like anything that passed thru Doug was/is/will be maximized
  4. ah...the Pacific Coast copy. I am not surprise there. (thumbs u
  5. that Avengers #1 looks a hell nice for a 5.0
  6. If you sold them last year, wouldn't it be cheaper now to buy similar raw books or slabs in similar grades cheaper? for high grade, the Avengers #4 has slid 30 to 40% off the high.
  7. I agree...I have never saw a 9.2 even with W PQ, anyone? I wonder if the few copies that are 9.6/9.8 are White pages.
  8. updated added this one..the same one sold a few months back on CL. Lets see if this will cross $22k. So far bidding is strong at $18k http://cgi.ebay.com/X-men-1-CGC-9-0-VF-NM-1963-1st-app-X-men-Magneto_W0QQitemZ230452494053QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item35a809fee5#ht_1436wt_1167 9.4 ow - 11/09 Mound Auction - $106,050 9.4 ow/w - 2/10 CL auction - $101,002 9.4 - 5/10 CL auction - ? 9.2 - Pedigree - $55,000 (1/10) 9.2 - 2/10 CL auction - $47,177 9.0 ow - 3/10 CL sale - $27,950 9.0 ow, date stamp on cover - 1/10 CL auction - $22,507 (1/10) 9.0 cr/ow - Ebay 9.0 cr/ow - CL sale - $22,000 (1/10) 8.5 ow - 1/10 CL auction - $12,575 (1/10) mine, going to a good home I hope. 9. what is crazy to me is sometimes the notes are too brief to give any indications that a crease or bend is press...able but some people can roll the dices.
  10. #1-129 is indeed a pretty sweet run...but you sold your AF #15 to save up for something better?! The nerve. yup, I also sold my X-men #1 8.5 at the same time...now I can go after what I really wanted and not have to worry about not having the cash to pay for it
  11. Agreed! I think it will be soon be at least an 8.5. That 8.0 is about as good as I have seen...stronger than my 8.5 for sure so I already downloaded and saved the scan for future reference

  13. wow, I thought my book was miscut badly but that is nothing compared to yours.
  14. here is one bad miscut...if this book is worthly and it is not to be slab, CGC probably will turn it down because it won't fit?
  15. I have a decent run from 1 to 129, I think I am missing about 10 issues. Sold off my AF 15 last month to save up money for something better. I am also have a 2 complete run of Peter Parker Spetacular run from 1 to 40, mostly in 9.8, only if i can find someone to take one of them off my hand
  16. I think most bronze 9.8 slabs should be price $50 or less. Beside keys or top of the cencus slabs, I can't imagine why most people will have to pay more because they are quite easy to get.

  18. here is one sharp looking 8.5, might be the best looking 8.5 out of the 3 they are in the sale area. I think both the other books should have taken the offers over $14k and run but what do i know. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fnewitems%2Easp%3F%5FSORT%3DYES%26Type%3D%26f1%3Di%2ELastUpdate%26ODire1%3DDESC%26f2%3Di%2ETitle%26ODire2%3DASC%26f3%3Di%2EIssueNumber%252C%2Bi%2EVolumeNumber%26ODire3%3DASC&id=839412
  19. if I can figure out how to get an advance loan of the future value to buy one of those thingy to freeze myself when I am dead. This way, when the book is worth 7 figures, my great great great grand kids and wake me up to see the book getting bid for 7 figures.
  20. yes, it is my favorite SA book also but anything in the 6 figure range is for me to spend money on.
