  1. stop selling crazy high graded and high price books selling $50 or less slabs like me and you won't have any problems...knock on woods
  2. That could be related as well Do you think a lot of this collection is going through the Economy/Value Tier ? Doubtful. But it could still draw resources away from other customers books. +1 the lowest tier get pushed out to make rooms for the big spenders...at the end of the day, the higher tiers get to cut in line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, etc... my biggest gripe with CGC really. There is always people that will say "pay more" if you want faster but next time you are at a dentist waiting to get in at your appointed time to relieve some pains and somebody walk in with a big wallet and said "I can pay more, screw the guy in the waiting room, i want to be next"...how would you feel?
  3. thanks for the fast payment...glad you like the book (thumbs u
  4. you mean Deadpool is not number 3
  5. I called and left a message on my book with them on Monday and they haven't call back so I don't even know if they open all this week.
  6. yup...i consigned on a few auctions this year and the wait for the checks make waiting for the books so much easier. Honestly, they do shipped books fairly quickly since the summer.
  7. well, I sold a book on CL marketplace on 11/28 and shipped the book out right away. The book arrived on 12/2 and no check for me so far....it goes both way as far as the blame for slowness.
  8. I actually learned of this forum about 3 years ago when I googled "CGC". I was just curious about the company since I owned 2 slabs in my entire collection...and to my surprise it is right where I live. I was still out of the hobby at the time but I probably visited this forum daily for almost a year looking mainly at "What is new in your collection" and "PGM" to look at all the great books that people posted. Took me a while to bother to get a private email account to officially join the forum later.
  9. I think they are so busy that they really don't bother with "extra" revenue stream(s) I dare say they are busier this year compared to last year.

  11. money talk with CGC speed...when you forked out big $$ with the walk thru, they will get it done asap...when I forked out economy value tier, I got the back of the line and feel free to cut in front of me if you are willing to pay more kind of service.
  12. congrats on the 8.5....seems like an accurate grade based on the limited pics you shown.
  13. the last 9.0 sold on Ebay to someone on this forum for $1600 I think...just a month ago or 2
  14. the GPA 90 days average is #1 - 6.0 - $750 (not really useful since there are not that many transactions) #2 - 9.6 - $221 (recent was $300 but that is wack) #3 - 9.4 - $46 #4 - 9.6 - $64 now you can see why the original asking price of $999 didn't have any takers...the books are fairly price and the price you got is decent...not a bargain where you flip tomorrow for big profit.
  15. nope, for now just the cert# of that 8.0 was retired recently right when this 8.5 was graded. I did have a scan of it but I can't find it all day so if I can locate the old scan, I will post it.
  16. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fsearch%2Easp%3FPreviewCode%3D2010nov%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dtales%2Bof%2Bsuspense%2B39%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item%5F864808&id=864808 freshly pressed up from an 8.0 that was sold back in 8/10 for $12k ...now I know why it went GPA high.
  17. Frank bought some raw books way back on my very first sale thread and a few other times..always fast paying (thumbs u
  18. Patrick bought quite a few books from me this past year and always fast payment
  19. I have bought a few books from Roy this past year and always safe and fast shipment and great prices
  20. the only flaw that I can't tell if it is there or not is by iceman's hand...is that a non color breaking crease in that corner or my eyes are seeing something it isn't there other than that, slight abrasion at the bottom left front corner and the one spine tick by the upper staple in the green area are the only 2 noticeable flaws. No doubt this is as solid as it can be for an 8.5 or strong 8.5 as many will call it.
  21. a recent addition to the market place at CL decent looking copy that doesn't look like it can be improve. So now we have two 9.0 out there for sale/auction. I want to see a 9.2 darn it! http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch%2Easp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dx%2Dmen%2B1%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26ItemType%3DCB&id=862455
  22. super cool...so do you have the rest of the books after #1? hopefully you didn't just buy #1 and then stop looks like Heritage just got a brand spanking new OO X-men #1 9.0 http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=7027&LotIdNo=107005
  23. ok, can we ad Grimace to that list now? since it is over 30 days that the buyers (me included) paid and all PMs over the past 2 weeks have been ignored? TIA
  24. I just picked up 100 bronze slabs from CGC and I will start listing tomorrow...mostly 9.8, some 9.6 from X-men, to Nova, Ms Marvel, FF, Firestorm, Star Wars, Invaders, What If, to Spider Woman, Wonder woman, and an almost complete run of John Carters in 9.8 all will be below GPA anywhere from 10 to 25%...hopefully a blow out with the average slab costing less than $50.
