  1. That is such a neat book. I didn't know about it until your last post. I am glad you got it back!!
  2. I do a "no thanks." They either go away, or they put together another offer. And I don't have to waste any time on folks that want uber-deals. There is nothing wrong with that, but sometimes I have to laugh when I have stuff at $10-20 less than slabbing costs, and folks want more discount.
  3. This is an oft overlooked point. With the whiplash-inducing spikes in price (of PP) there are tons of people who have barriers to entry to the high end of collecting. Also, WD had droves of people buying and reading trades who were lured back to the floppies. Finally, I have yet to hear anyone rave about the story in PP. Has it been Eisner nominated? Is it going to go past 100 issues? PP is already a speculator's dream. A couple of times as a matter of fact, because that big time softening led to another buying spree right after the animation announcement. I question the staying power and the long term play.
  4. Saw some amazing GA books on Saturday. Absolutely spectacular color strike. So vibrant as to defy age. I have only held a few GA Peds in my life, so you salty dogs may think it's cute, but I am telling you, wow. Hopefully Tim will be along soon . . .
  5. Here is the link to the other: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6247129#Post6247129
  6. It doesn't appear that CGC knows that . . . http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=sonic+the+hedgehog+1+mini+comic&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xsonic+the+hedgehog+1+mini+comic+cgc&_nkw=sonic+the+hedgehog+1+mini+comic+cgc&_sacat=0 Oh, and there's no link btw . . . Bronty only mentions it. That one that you linked is the real mini-comic. The cover is glossy, not newsprint stock. The reprint, in addition to being newsprint, is the same size as regular comic pages, and the authentic mini is much smaller. I will bump the Sonic thread. Yes. I was referring to the 2nd CGC'd book - the newsprint copy. Neither is labelled as an "insert" of any kind, which, if they are, should be. This thread has a bunch of great infor in it. Including lots of pics of Maloney414's copy. There was another thread that i can't find now. A guy came on guns a-blazin' with his newsprint copy, and Maloney, Green, RMA and Bronty broke it all the way down and showed that there was no evidence that any of the newsprint issues can be shown to be different from the pulled out Superman/Justice league copies. As it relates to CGC, I agree. People are getting hosed on these things. Link to the first thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5671959#Post5671959

  8. It was an insert in several DC comics with print runs in the hundreds of thousands. The thread that was linked does a great job of sussing out all of the hype and rumors. In my opinion, there is no real evidence that any of the newsprint issues are anything other than unstapled and removed inserts from the Superman book, or one of the others. I bought a bunch of them from Mile High for a a buck or two a piece with the idea that I was going to cash in on the mania. But I am not comfortable with it. The only real collectible, as I see it, it the glossy mini comic. The newsprint versions are all bogus.
  9. It takes everyone else's cool to cancel out CAL and Black Hand.
  10. I miss Gav. Best n00b ever. 2007 and 2008 had some sweet n00bs.
  11. Oh, man. Nick's take on the Spidey Rogues Gallery is epic. He makes everything ugly and weird. And I mean that as the highest compliment!!!
  12. Doug, please add this show so this thread doesn't get bombed again.
  13. This is so awesome. Kudos to everyone involved
  14. If it were my birthday cake, I would make everyone call me "Oppenheimer" and I would eat the entire cake brain case with my hands.
  15. That's exactly what should have happened here. Otherwise, why threaten the buyer with the PL and then back out? It doesn't make any sense at all other than to bring his name up on here. Pretty much as I stated earlier this morning in a reply in this thread about amends by paying him but apparently he wants me to get down like James Brown and suck his coo coo.... Does your mom know that you're using her computer? There's no love lost between me & RMA, but if I was him, I'd tell you to go pound sand as well ... grow the *spoon* up, already. +1, I'm not happy about RMA's ideas about selling to PL listers and I was I was feeling sorry for kitsune. What possible reason could you have to feel sorry for kitsune...? What has he done in any of this to cause any reasonable person to feel sorry for him...? Why would someone say something like this out loud...? Why do people respond to people that they have on ignore? Why do people talk about people they have on ignore? Ask yourself that question shaving tomorrow, cowboy.

  17. This is one of the stupidest conversations in recent memory, and a classic example of a tempest in a teapot, but the one thing that shines through is that you are a USDA Prime Grade-A crotchpimple.
  18. Wow. I am upset for a few reason. The fact I look hung over in that photo being #1. Three hours of sleep will do that to you. Every con I see you at, you are in awesome spirits on Thursday, and you look like grim death on Sunday!
  19. Considering his image is being linked to a scam, I think he will be pissed. But I have been wrong before.
  20. I believe that he was put on and removed once before.
  21. That is exactly what I do and if I am looking for a particular book I pm them to ask if they have one for sale. I have been heading in the opposite direction, less and less Ebay and now almost never. But for me its not simply about the negative things, the things I don't like about Ebay, its the positives in the selling format here, the "forum" and the unfolding threads. Its obviously way more interactive here, and for me that is much more exciting. To be able to communicate with the seller on the fly as it happens, to negotiate from scratch with (usually) rapid responses, the thrill of the hunt, I would not want to give that up. I do not find the risks here any greater, the rewards are substantial, and for myself I have lost nothing by leaving Ebay. Unfortunately interactivity is now currently frowned upon by current moderation as I found out in running the last CT when the same thread shenanigans and tom-foolery posting that makes having a sales thread fun... was deemed by CCGMod0 as "bumping sales threads with extraneous material" and that any post that "is not a book for sale, a sold notice, or a useful information update" will be considered spam bumps to take up front page real estate and thus making punishment a viable option. And this was in MIXED where it takes approximately 10 days for the front page to change. More and more effort is being put in place to take the "chat" out of this "chat-board"... so don't give up on eBay just yet. That was ridiculous. Setting all other differences aside, that was one of the most nonsensical things I've ever seen.
