  1. Did I read that correctly? He has a *gasp* Star Trek 1 *choke*?
  2. That looks like twine binding damage. From before books were shipped in boxes, they were bundled and bound with twine.
  3. I think that is the basis of this thread, but I can't positively tell, and if so, it quickly moved on
  4. In the summer of '89, when the Michael Keaton Batman movie was released. Batman (in the aggregate) was as hot as any of modern Marvel movie books. Any Joker cover books were smoking hot - and i mean smoking hot. Getting $15-20 in trade per Joker cover and buying Marvel Bronze in F-NM out of the quarter boxes - Eternals, mid run SubMariner, ROM, 25 cent Caps etc. I was in comics from about 1984 through 2016, and the only thing that was ever close to '89 Batman was the Walking Dead in about 2012.
  5. I would reconsider the whole program. What if that thing comes back as a 3.5?
  6. Alec - I would be super concerned about a grade drop. Those stains on the back are really bad. Just something to think about.
  7. I couldn't even finish it. Bleah. I REALLY enjoyed the 1st Shazam! I haven't seen Quantumania yet. Could be how I wash the bad taste of Shazam 2 out . . .
  8. It doesn't necessarily have to be the artist. It can be a writer, editor, letterer, colorist. But you definitely want someone connected with the story.
  9. Hopefully this links to my Bronze collection. Most are in new homes now, but boy did I have fun getting these books made. --Sean. https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryRoom.asp?GSub=630
  10. That almost certainly had to have happened as a result of something covering the paper and preventing the ink from being applied to the paper. A Google images search shows none other like that, the CCA stamps are all over the place and there seem to be lots of "Yellow Ds" and lots of "Red Ds." Printing problems were rampant in the 70's. This one is interesting, but I don't think it will be determined in the court of public opinion to be a variant.
  11. Actually - not confirmed. That is the Rocketeer's right hand. I don't know what that other book is.
  12. Confirmed - that is the cover to #1
  13. And one of the great Splash Page intros of all time "Carrion, my wayward son."
  14. I feel like that is one of the Bernie Wrightson Master of the Macabre comics - (but that is just a guess).
  15. Just saw it last night. I would imagine for big Warlock fans it was a huge let down. But most comic fans knew that they weren't going to be able to do Warlock right after the Vision stole most of his thunder (in terms of having an Infinity Stone in his head) and Thanos is already gone. Warlock was the only thing that pulled me out of the narrative. There were several chances for Gunn to pull him into the group (grieving the murder of his mom being the biggest softball) but he never really took those chances. Overall, I really, really liked it. My favorite Marvel movie since Shang-Chi. It was a great ending to a great series of movies.
  16. Maybe if you sgd ttm every once in a while you would know.
  17. @TegrityComics From what I can see, the way that the case is defective is very problematic. The posts are what makes the case "tamper-proof," and it is the first place that people will look to check for problems or tampering. It is inconceivable to me that CGC would not consider an unsealed case for re-holdering. I am sorry this has happened to you.
  18. Ron, will you please buy a nice form fitting crystal clear bag for that incredible book?!
  19. Three-eyed thalidomide Spidey is the stuff of absolute nightmare.
