What is marvels First appearance of death?
seanfingh replied to Savaged2222's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
I think that is the best answer - that is the "version" of Death that Thanos loves, and is the one that is relevant to the Marvel Universe. The War is Hell 9 version is more of the classic grim reaper.- 2 replies

Here's what I did with my copy . . . http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=18832&GSub=248

One year at Gem City there was a guy with a small set up who had an 8.0 WBN 32. My recollection is that GPA was around $200-225. The guy had $500 on it. I started asking him about it and he gave me a big sales pitch about how it was really poised to explode, and I agreed with him and told him I really wanted it. It was a white pager and may have had upgrade potential. I think I went to $275 and he wasn't even close to even thinking about it, let alone pulling the trigger. It seemed like he really, really didn't want to sell it but had it priced in case insane money came along. That was probably 2011 or 2012. I just checked GPA and he would be $250 light in this market.

It's highly doubtful you've seen Jamie Gertz on any guest lists, unless it was to the Sultan of Brunei's birthday party. She's married to a billionaire.

Stan Lee signing at Silicon Valley
seanfingh replied to Celestial Comics's topic in The Signature Room
N00bsauce -
His signature looked like that for a time in the early 90's. If I had to bet my own money, I would say it's legit.
-
I don't think you can say that with certainty. The only person I can think of that is like Stan Lee is Walt Disney. Disney was not a prolific signer, that I am aware of. But if he were, how many people would prefer an unsigned copy of WDC&S to a signed copy? Certainly some, but not all, and possibly not the majority of people who will ever be in the market for comics in perpetuity. Thoughts like that keep me from believing the absolute that Stan signed stuff is going to "drop like a fly."

That may be it, totally. But he should probably say that, and add any other content that he has posted, if he wants to foster productive discourse here.- 19 replies

Why don't you copy and paste your Instagram materials here, if you want to foster a discussion here? Otherwise it seems like you are spamming for your Instagram feed.- 19 replies

TWD #1 Museum Edition LE100, Ohio 2004
seanfingh replied to StephenWA's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Because there are lots of people reading this other than those participating. And different people find different things persuasive, from an evidence standpoint. And the reason i know these are fakes is because I was actively participating in the WD market at the time, and I continued to be involved through about 2013. I also was very active in the convention scene in Ohio at the time, again through about 2014. I don't need to see them to know that they are fake and not created contemporaneously with the proposed time line.- 155 replies

TWD #1 Museum Edition LE100, Ohio 2004
seanfingh replied to StephenWA's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
There would have been no reason to produce something like this in 2004. WD #1s were floating in the $30-50 range for the first year to year and a half. It was a hot series, and gathering steam with every issue, but all the buzz was from people actually reading the book. Also, if these were legit, they would have been known about long ago. They are just Image First books with a new bogus cover, teamed up with PGX to give it a slimy sheen of legitimacy for the dull, the greedy and the easily duped.- 155 replies

Good luck with this, my friend! Bump for a good guy and a spectacularly difficult SS opportunity coming to fruition. Collins was at the top of my "to-do" list for years.

Signed Comics Database- How Can You Help?
seanfingh replied to GACollectibles's topic in The Signature Room
If Andrew did it himself there would be SS from Barry Bostwick and Sebastian Shaw instead of Jackson Bostwick and Sebastian Stan. It's just better this way. -
If my photobucket account still worked, I would show you.

Just moving the barcode and 80 years insignia to the back would have been huge.
