  1. I figure die hard completists to the title they focus on, which is A-OK with me. I know I look for all kinds of oddball variants(and other books written by Joe) myself with my focus. Right now, I found Keyhouse's actual 1st appearance(Joe considers it one of L&K's characters) in a comic(not in a preview), I plan on grading soon. I find this kind of behavior keeps you loyal to your title, by letting you breathe a little by looking elsewhere. Basically, it helps you build better runs.
  2. The actual awards have always bothered me with their plain-ness. After seeing what Ralph did to his with the creator's signatures on his plaque though, I wanted to have a better reason to frame one.
  3. No, he quickly scanned them, but I don't think it "registered". Yeah, I changed my mind on going way way last minute after we talked. I got there, somewhat late.
  4. Fox is one big happy family. The producers of Locke & Key produce Fringe too. Too me it would be awesome for them to reshape the network. But... The Jesse McCartney fans demand the series get produced.
  5. Well, 150 miles and $35 in gas money later... I went to the Jetpack Comics Free Comic Book Day event in Rochester, NH. ...and picked up some great little floppies. Joe Hill was at one of the locations, so I decided to get some signatures from him. I always wanted to even out this poster EvilAsh gave to me with Joe's name next to Gabriel's. I was about to have him sign all the key tags I had that didn't come with his signature originally, when a family just jumped in front of me and started to have him sign FCBD floppies. His co-writer buddy there Jason Ciaramella looked as stunned as I felt. He started to sketch a Skrull Electra on a little girl's Secret Invasion #1. It looked pretty great after he was done. Then it became my turn again. But, I was so rattled, I sounded like a gibbering fool. Jason really enjoyed the keys. I felt bad because I was so distracted, I almost totally ignored him. But, Joe got them all done. Perfectly. Signed some Subtterrean Press Hardcovers. ...and I wanted to do something no one could replicate. I had him sign my Registry Awards, to make them look more official. I think I got the idea from oneasian. There was a Crow there and a Baroness from GI Joe(no pics of her though, as I thought she was gonna slap me around and call me Suzy if I did). Joe knew right off his 1st comic appearance was Creepshow #1 too(which makes me want to keep mine all the more now). Saw the lovely Sara Richard and gave a hometown shout out. I got to meet CGC boardies Ralph(Jetpack Comics) and Andrew(GACollectibles) too. Andrew was a super cool guy to talk with me for a bit about a Joe Hill book for being really so busy there. All in all, it was fun adventure.
  6. It's easier for the mainstream to understand, something that has to explained in a paragraph. Technically, the army of beasties waiting behind the Black Door, are from another dimension too. Kinda, like the physics of the T.A.R.D.I.S.
  7. Voted and commented. Since I'm selling my Locke & Key set after the TV series didn't get picked up, I voted for the Kiefer Sutherland drama.
  8. Michael paid 2 Fast 2 Furious! Highly recommended buyer!
  9. Nahhhhhhhh... have faith. Doug, I know you are kidding, but I agree with Cheryl. This really means nothing at the moment(joe_collector enters the thread to silence my fanboy denial). I figure it's only about the money at the moment for Fox. The producers of L&K, also produce Fringe which although is falling in the ratings is getting closer to being able to be syndicated. That's practically free money to everyone involved once that happens and that's great. But unfortunately, like American Idol, Fringe is getting expensive to produce. That means expensive-unproven little ditties like L&K's pilot($10 million+) gets punished. I have no doubt, all the bells and whistles will done to promote the pilot airing around Halloween time this year to prove to the mainstream what a great property it is. Hopefully, they can keep much of the cast busy with minor network projects to not shake-up the continuity of the program.

  11. Almost 30 years of comic covers with Joe Hill on them so far. OK... Next mission.
  12. Sorry about having to give them up, but congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
  13. Is the latest issue the end of the current story line (No Way Out pt. 5)? Kirkman's writing has gotten lazy to the point that I can no longer read it an issue at a time. same here. Totally lackluster to the end of this story line--he needs new methods of story telling or tricks...nothing seems to be moving anywhere fast. It seems that since the Gov the story and direction has been wandering aimlessly---a lot of IDEAS but nothing coming to fruition. He's been doing this for a bit now if you haven't noticed. Issue #48: Issue #49: Issue #75: Issue #76: Issue #83: Issue #84: If you want an kick-butt semi-horror book to read this week, go buy Locke & Key: Keys to the Kingdom #6.
  14. FA? First Appearance maybe? It doesn't list it on L&K #1. Yeah, that's probably it. I always wondered how they would do that if they did it anyway. "First appearance of Locke & Key", doesn't sound right. But, I do hear "1st Chew" alot, so who knows? When I was scripting my descriptions, it would make for a busy label for sure:
