  1. Jerel will tell me if I am wrong but, Locke & Key #1: Welcome to Lovecraft arc, is the first proper appearance. There are glimpses of the world etc in Joe hills other books, prior to this, i.e Spider-man Unlimited and Grave Tales #6. Locke and key also appeared in the preview books IDW: Coming Attractions #1 and the tenth anniversary books but I don't know if these pre-date the Locke and Key #1 mentioned The Locke & Key Universe can be spotted throughout Joe's previous works. Spider-Man Unlimited #8 and Grave Tales #6 and could be considered prototypes to characters and their actions. Heart-Shaped Box has alot of elements from the Crown of Shadows arc. Bits and pieces of tone can be seen Joe's short story collection 20th Century Ghosts too. The first "preview" book was Doctor Who Classics #2, followed by Cory Doctorow #4 and Dominatrix #6. But, the very first appearance would be found in Locke & Key #1. Dodge making a cameo in #1 before her/his/it's first full appearance in L&K #2(that's one to watch-as he has proved he is no bumbling comic book villian). Dodge's appearance and voice mannerisms(no leafy crown or broken voice) were later changed in the DF's, Special Edition, $1 book and trade. This might make the first and second prints more desirable, because of his original unaltered first appearance. Knesia Solo's acting might boost sales too.
  2. ...and I must say it was a cool Salem the Cat cameo on page #16. We get alot of cats climbing trees for birds in the winter up here.
  3. they are pimping him pretty good I wonder if the con will have any twd exclusives I don't think there will be any con exclusives, just my guess, I know Tony won't have any and Image is not there...so... Yeah, usually it's just a print that is limited to a 1,000. This year it's for the floppy "The Cape"(Joe Hill).
  4. Steve, did you ever notice how this series follows a major event from The Walking Dead with a similar one. A couple examples...
  5. I'm seriously considering buying Cheryl's SS CGC 9.8 of #2 she has on eBay right now for "investment purposes". She will tell you, I have a knack for this with this series. "Dodge" is now too big of a character to just stop when the series wraps next June.
  6. Do not read if you haven't read KTTK #6 I mean it.
  7. Definitely, worthy of another series alone. This series cannot contain him/her/it. I see L&K #1's and #2's having a nice future in the Marketplace if there is a spin-off when the series wraps. Because let's face it, evil this good shouldn't ever stop.
  8. I think "Dodge" has now become one of the top ten comic book villians of all time. My
  9. Anyone know what the deal is with TWD #81 ComicPro Exclusive? Saw a 9.8 worthy one at the LCS and wondered.
  10. Congrats Jerel! Beautiful book!!! Great book Jerel, absolutely love it and hope to own one myself at some point I can't wait until I get it from Sarasota, hopefully by Saturday. This was a fun book to find, because it let me expand my focus ever so slightly without breaking it.
  11. Really nice set-up Michael. I'm gonna hit the yard sales in Bedford & Amherst(richest towns with the best furniture) hard this summer, for a nice antique dark wood cabinet myself. Something Gothic-ey.
  12. Maine's right next door. Once it hits Springfield, Mass, it's practically on my door rock.
  13. But it was definitely a busy issue. Not as heart-breaking as HG's #6 or COS's #6, but on par with some of the best action-packed ones, COS's #2 and COS's #4-5. Great way to end the arc.
  14. O... M... G... My only regret with it was it made me forget to pick up TWD #84. ...and my Shadow Key rolled in too. Today is a good day for L&K!
  15. I posted in a few places already(including Facebook), but what the heck! Possibly Joe Hill's first appearance in comics based on his character from 1982's Creepshow. An impossible 1st print to find in this high of grade.
  16. What a great idea, Mike. It definitely makes the book more personal to you. I'm gonna do the same thing too. But seriously Mike, I hope your package gets to Andrew in time. Gav, in the name of all the things that are holy, please keep this one out of the "Out of Context Thread".
