  1. They should have cast Linda Thorson as Plenty O'Toole. It would have started "The Avenger Rule" where a Bond has to have every female from that TV show's cast for a decent Bond movie. Poor Linda, no one ever got used to her after Emma Peel's Diana Rigg. I thought she was pretty cute for the era, no Galore/Cathy Gale mind you. Even Patrick Macnee showed up in "A View to a Kill."
  2. Bond movies I used to like but no longer do are... You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever and Octopussy. I don't know what happened?
  3. Great List! Just watched From Russia With Love for the first time ever. What a great movie. Even though I liked Goldeneye, I would bump it off the top five for The Spy Who Loved Me.
  4. Man, you guys are wicked smart with all the math you do on these funny book movies.
  5. WTB! Your name is very familiar, but I can't quite place it?
  6. He was absolutely fascinating, if not trail-blazing as the henchman in "North By Northwest." ...and his physical response to Cary Grant's pleas for help on Mount Rushmore, practically invented these kinds of heartless tough-guys in the Bond films.
  7. Never. Being an Alfred Hitchcock super-fan, I see a couple characters from his movies in this one. Take Psycho for instance. An icy blonde on the run after doing something horrible. Her sister desperately trying to track her down to set the wrong things right, etc.
  8. I'm wayyy ok, with the casting. 'bout time actually!
  9. With me, the thing that makes the original two so magical is the expert casting of extras. Their reactions to Spidey's derring-do's made the whole CG enhanced spectacles work. My favorites are: Spider-Man (2002): The scene on the bridge when the Goblin is obstructed from killing Spidey (and MJ,) by a mob of folks with bricks. When one shouted that he was picking on a bunch of kids and finished with "You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!" was the most memorable scene in the whole affair. So much emotion, you don't have to be from NY to get choked up with pride. Spider-Man becomes a symbol to the city of hope, much like the NY jumper did in "14 Hours." Spider-Man 2 (2004): Yes, the train scene was masterful, with a well cast batch of passengers, who practically all get a line or two. But, it was that scene where he's delivering a pizza by moped and stops a car careening into a crowd with a web. In fact a pretty lass, says "a web," in the most believable way of wonder and relief. Her "Go Spidey, go!" was our collected breaths of the pay-off for the crowd who were miraculously saved. There's so many more scenes too, the two little boys and the guy in the elevator in part 2, to name at least a couple more. All you see in the 3rd and the Garfield ones are just reaction shots in crowds (very similar to Ashley Johnson's role in The Avengers, before her 5-second interview.) They needed those talented actors to help sell the scene they were in, with little gestures and dialogue.
  10. I've shown these before elsewhere, but I just found this thread this morning, so I figured I would share. I keep forgetting to look for the Olafs.
  11. Picked up "Class" Series 1 today. Does anybody hate it? I heard it was darker, so that made me more interested.
  12. Don't quit. I remember how crushed I was not winning a "Best Modern Set" in 2010. But, I went on to win the more difficult "Best Presented Set" (my opinion) the next year. Do some tweaks here and there to your Registry Set throughout the year and try again.
  13. Nope. You get a plaque and respect. I still feel greedy for asking Dena, last year.
  14. W00t! W00t! I made it a full year without being suspended or banned!
  15. Because I'm a super fan of 2013's The Lone Ranger, I'm still going to check it out optimistically.
  16. Wow! He is the definition of a "fresh, young actor." The studio must have a lot confidence in him. I'm a big fan of IFC Films, I'll have to check out "The Land."
  17. Nope. I gave up cable 6 years ago. I never have time to watch it and I crave Blu Ray/ DVD extras. I think the complete series 10 is going to be released late July or early August. I can wait. (but I can't)
  18. I'm totally in the dark to what you guys are talking about. Gonna be great when I do see it in July or August, when the Blu Ray comes out. Better avoid this thread in the meantime. Later!
  19. Awesome book! With a cover that great, you would have thought CGC would have given Adam Hughes cover credit on the label. Good luck with the sale.
  20. You got me. I only bought it because of Polly. I was never a fan of Patrick Troughtman (yeah, The Omen.) But, I try to pick up anything with Anneke Wills in it. She was great. I wish I could find that show she was in called "Strange Report" someday on disc. But, it was a really good episode. I'm going check out the behind the scenes this weekend.
  21. I didn't even know this was released. I was expecting July 4th for some reason. I've been so sick of Michael Bay since Armageddon (but the first Transformers rocked - and The Rock.)
  22. Kind of ironic it would be one that takes place in a galaxy far, far away as well.
