  1. Did anybody watch this movie yet? The copy I bought is slowly collecting dust on the shelf. Feel free to pan it if you didn't like it. I was just curious what people thought of it.
  2. I just did the same thing on my lunch hour. I got about 20 minutes and was zoning out so I bailed. Way too many top notch shows to catch up on to watch it. I ended up watching the end when I got home and it grew on me a bit. I'll be interested to see if they can give Archie a Twin Peaks kind of vibe. Dancing little folks. I just started to rewatch Twin Peaks, last Friday. It surprisingly holds up really well, for a show that's almost 30.
  3. Which was an awesome remake to the '78 one!
  4. Arrogant comes to mind. I'm sure someone will come along and wonder what Avatar was about. Or not. I had a really awesome pic depicting this, but there is swearing, and it's *gasp* too much for this forum... http://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/30417_700b.jpg I guess he doesn't remember Piranha 2: The Spawning. Everybody tries to break into the business, with maximum studio control over a franchise project too, as the Alien sequels were. I read all of that in the unauthorized Cameron bio "The Futurist." Never heard of Piranha 2: The Spawning. I will check it out. Any fun like Toxic Avenger 1? If you keep your expectations low and being slightly inebriated, I think you'll enjoy it. Too much time has passed to take it too seriously as a creative failure now. Despite Cameron being fired from it like twice, it's still a Cameron film, Look for typical Cameron movie cast cameos in it too.

  6. Interesting... http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/208531/james-cameron-alien-franchise/
  7. There is but it is not a "storyline" twist. I think that is my only negative feeling about this movie. I was really expecting some major jaw dropping twist to the story, and it never came. But that last shot was still awesome!
  8. Let's be honest. The thing could be called "Star Wars: Blue Harvest" and still do $550 million domestic.
  9. I imagine although improbable, Sound Effects Editing might be BVS's sole nomination from the Academy.
  10. It was certainly different.
  11. Its naked crazy grandma good
  12. I can kind of sorta agree with you,but now that James Cameron is on board I will give it one more shot. I can see why they don`t want to give it up from a business perspective in that the Terminator franchise is a billion dollar franchise, and as someone once said billion dollar franchises do not go gentle into that good night. You got to give Spielberg credit for not milking E.T. for all it was worth with follow-ups after it became a phenomenon. I didn't hate the last Terminator, but they really should have stopped at two. Everything was so nicely wrapped up with it's mythology.
  13. Was M Night's The Visit any good?
  14. I'm very excited to catch this one on Blu. Anya Taylor-Joy has been on a hot streak after the classic The Witch and the engaging Blade Runner-esque Morgan. I would watch it in theaters but it looked a little too Criminal Minds for me.
  15. Has anybody watched "The Accountant" yet? I bought it tonight because of Anna Kendrick (Maine-girl success story , but after some of the reviews I might take it back.
  16. Or, they may chalk it up to what they liked you didn't appreciate. So why would that be a 'suckerpunch' - because you don't think like they do? What is odd are folks that feel like it is crazy someone can appreciate the DCEU movies. That seems to be more the trend here, rather than people saying you can't dislike these movies. For some, these are going to work. For others, not. That doesn't work. My personal favorite funnybook movie is The Dark Knight, really closely followed by Superman: The Movie & II (Theatrical Cut) and Batman Begins. I liked The Dark Knight Rises better than The Avengers and Iron Man (which I liked.) Batman, Batman Returns, Supergirl, iZombie are good company efforts too. The only trend I can see is Warner/DC starting to produce middling movies during this current time frame like they used to (Steel, Batman & Robin, Catwoman.) I'm just driving at a certain bar has been set with the Nolan and Marvel movies. Heck, even Marvel went past it with Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm not going to settle with some over-stuffed blockbuster wannabe. ...I'm hoping Affleck's solo Batman movie is 'da bomb, like Phantoms or all is going to be lost to this moviegoer (and probably many more.) I'm not interested in any others anymore other than Gadot's WW and that one. I don't think they have the "talent" to pull off team movies yet. Same. I'm a Marvel guy, but my top three superhero films are Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, and Batman Begins. DC just hasn't figured it out outside of Nolan. And I'm hoping for the exact opposite and for Geoff Johns to right the ship. I forgot about how great Spidey 2 was.

What is odd are folks that feel like it is crazy someone can appreciate the DCEU movies. That seems to be more the trend here, rather than people saying you can't disli ke these movies. For some, these are going to work. For others, not. Folks find it crazy that someone goes through this length to stick up fora mediocre film and try to treat this film like it is some kind of masterpiece that deserved Best Picture. Cool special effects and fight sequences don't make a great film. A film needs a superb plot, fantastic acting, and a music score that drives it everything else else falls beneath this. Man of Steel had a good score off the areas that count. The only other thing Man of Steel had going for it was Snyder's unique cinematography style that is always pleasing to see in the big screen, but that does not make this a good film. The Toxic Avenger is a masterpiece compared to this film Speaking of Toxic Avenger it`s on my Amazon Prime on demand for free. Should I watch it? I never seen any of these Toxic Avenger movies. Someone told me I should at least watch the first two? watch Toxic Avenger, Citizen Toxie: Toxic Avenger IV the middle two are terrible when they were under a big corporate umbrella essentially making adult films marketed towards kids Thanks I will check them out over the weekend. I concur it was a very entertaining for what it was.
  18. Ummm... What doesn't work? That other people may like Man of Steel, and you didn't like it? Ummm... I think that is what your points have been attempting to note - you saw it one time, and never wanted to see it again because it was too dark. Ummm...maybe next time take a moment to read before attempting to post a smart-aleck comment. I was dissed and dismissed. Or do you say, I got served. Yeah, I regretted putting that "Ummm..." in right after I left this morning. So I apologize.
  19. That was my feeling with this movie. Even though Brandon Routh seemed like a solid successor to Christopher Reeve, 'Superman Returns' ended up being a bar fight between Lex and his minions with Clark. No super-powered baddie where it would have made it so much more interesting. 'Man of Steel' made up for that. Between his fight with Faora, then the fight with Faora and Non, and finally with General Zod - this movie is packed with super-character fights. Superman: Returns wasn't as fun as Man of Steel, but it was a better film. Critic reviews agree. Why the studio and fans have been pooping so much on that film starting two years after it was released is beyond me. I personally like Man of Steel better and find it far more rewatchable due to the fantastic action sequences, but I enjoyed Returns when I saw it. I assume it's the whole idea of Superman being a deadbeat dad, which doesn't actually apply since he didn't know about the kid. I still love re-watching the entire crashing plane scene from Returns starting from when it first got into trouble all the way through the standing ovation in the baseball park. Extremely well done. The more I watch Superman Returns the more I like it. I think a lot that went wrong with the buzz with Superman Returns was a year earlier Christopher Reeve had died, so it was kind of hard to watch a new Superman without thinking about Christopher Reeve. I like to watch it now and then too. Other than Kate Bosworth and Parker Posey being horrifically miscast, it holds up very well. I really miss Christopher Reeve in the role too. He had a presence, no other actor could touch or were too afraid to.
