  1. Here's tonight's trivia question... What is the name of the current comic strip that showcases the "Star Wars Christmas Special" every Christmas season?
  2. It reminded me a lot of 1985's "Silverado."
  3. All awesome Republic's. I would add King of The Rocket-Men (Tristram Coffin) and G-Men vs The Black Dragon (starring Rod Cameron) as being superb, as well. Even the Fighting Devil Dogs which liberally used stock footage, is excellent. There are also quite a few Columbia's and Universal's deserving of restoration and release in higher definition, but the number of great serials from those studios is sparser. Yeah I always like Republic's higher production values. But there were a lot of other companies serials I liked too, that I might seek out down the road.
  4. Jerel. As long as Jerel is around, life is more than good. The girls send you their love mate. Gav! Wish them a Merry Christmas for me. I am only here for Jerel! Chris! Wish your fam a Happy New Year for me as well.
  5. I loved The Masked Marvel and Daredevils of The Red Circle! My favorites Federal Operator 99, Government Agents Vs. Phantom Legion, Daughter of Don Q, Federal Agents Vs. Underworld Inc, Manhunt in the African Jungle, The Purple Monster Strikes, The Black Widow, Captain America, Manhunt on Mystery Island, Mysterious Doctor Satan, Haunted Harbor, Jesses James Rides Again and King of the Texas Rangers. Linda Sterling, Virgina Lindley, Helen Talbot and Kay Aldridge were real beauties of the good old days.

  7. Oh, and I never watched the original. I'll pick up a copy Tuesday.
  8. I watched it Friday and enjoyed it. It was definitely a solid three out of four star movie. Oddly, it was so well balanced, no one really stole the movie. But, Haley Bennett is definitely on the rise in Hollywood. Her "star" burned as bright in it as much as Emily Blunt's did in genre films "Looper & Edge of Tomorrow."
  9. Like their movies recently, I find the Marvel threads rather formulaic.
  10. Yeah, I don't have the numbers, but I would have to guess the 2nd print's run is on the low side. Most of the raws I got were damaged as well. I do believe their will be interest eventually, as the ongoing continues.
  11. Thanks. I was just showing the connection I have with this series.
  12. Out of Four Stars... Batman v Superman ** Deadpool *** Civil War *** Suicide Squad **1/2 X-Men Apocalypse *1/2
  13. I know I'm a little late with my Frozen #2 review, especially considering #3 has been out. Out of the three stories in it, I liked the middle one "Travel Arendelle" the best out of the vignettes. Elsa, Anna and Olaf go on a hike in the woods outside Arendelle to look for the natural landmark, White Stag Rock. I love doing something like this on a second date, ...looking for stone markers in the middle of the woods. In my neck of the woods where I live, I have, Monkey Rock: Frog Rock: Tilting Rock: Turtle Rock: ...even a Sunday Driver Rock! Anna's preparedness to bring necessary supplies in case they get lost compliments Elsa's ice powers to build a quick shelter, sets a good example of the proper respect for wilderness survival, in a potentially harsh setting. That's good because an avalanche sets them back a little and makes them come across a mean grizzly mama bear and her cub. But Olaf's selfless regifts a present Elsa gave to him to the cub, turns everyone into a bunch of Fonzies after. I had my fair share of close encounters with giant black bears, ...but never encountered one during a hike. But, I did run into a gigantic moose before, so I get the startled panic from meeting up with something ginormous in the great outdoors, that could charge and trample me at the drop of a hat. But, I have pet deer like Sven, So I think we would have a somewhat understanding between one another. "She thinks you're stupid!"
  14. All in all, I wish I watched my copy of "Morgan" instead. It stars the extremely talented Anya Taylor-Joy (The main force to reckoned with Thomasin in 2015's The Witch.) She's being considered for the role of Magick in The New Mutants, I don't know if Bosco covered that already, but she'll elevate anything she's in. I keep comparing her to the next Jennifer Lawrence.
  15. Boy, I'm getting good at these movie reviews.
  16. I didn't mind his "Joker." I didn't mind Robie's "Harley." I just thought they had absolutely no chemistry together, like she had with Will Smith (even in Focus.) But at least they had a string of scenes almost in montage form, to justify their love and devotion, granted. Joel Kinnaman and Cara Delevigne were in some kind re-written -script limbo. One moment he's protecting her in a board meeting, concerned about her powers in an apartment, then he's taking her out in the field. Once she takes off, he's practically "Oh Well." We see no conflict of him coming to kill her, maybe because they inserted that scene where she tells him too, if she goes all Dark Phoenix. When he crushes her heart, there's nothing that rings true. Even when he's walking away from her carcass. Yet, the plot requires them to be happy together. Granted, he was a highly trained soldier, but there's no sense to his character's motivations. I think he was supposed to be the audience member connection in this group around these superhero guys. Instead, he has all the personality of a brick, like Kristen Stewart in Twilight.
  17. I wonder how much of this weekend's box-office will be affected because of the winter storm in the Northeast. Because of the extreme cold, the Department of Transportation couldn't treat the roads in my next of the woods as most likely others too, for yesterday's snow event and now we have an ice storm today. I remember reading* in 2003, a blizzard hit when Daredevil opened and it was considered a factor for it's underwhelming (for the studio) weekend cume (could have been the movie too.) *Entertainment Weekly
  18. Watched it. Not as bland as the last X-Men movie or BvS. It was really too choppy and suffered from obvious tinkering. A lot of the actors had zero chemistry together(Flagg and Enchantress-Joker and Harley,) the CG henchmen is getting overdone to protect the PG-13 rating and the constant song score was an annoying device. But, I didn't hate it. Some of the actors were a hoot as they PG-teased evil stuff, the movie had moments and it moved fast enough. It's just I'm gonna forget about this movie by tomorrow. **1/2 out of four stars.
  19. Between The Hunger Games and X-Men franchises, she should be all set, I swear I think they cost her an award for American Hustle, from her peers. Like RDJ, I think it's too late now as she cashed out on her "craft," as other actors and filmmakers struggle to get their low budget message movies out.
  20. I thought it was much better on the second go as well. I thought so too. I remember temporary changing my personal star rating to **1/2, until I watched The Avengers again (back to **.) Watching Suicide Squad tonight. It will probably suck, but it's probably going to be a while before they get A-list talent to make The Dark Knight movies again. Affleck has directed and co-written some pretty good movies though. You will love every minute of it I'm thinking I'm long overdue to like a recently panned movie and I did like one of the trailers (the one that played "You Don't Own Me" over the soundtrack.) So, I'm a little excited. I just have been worried it's going to be too much like Batman: Assault on Arkham. That's probably the only thing that could distract me.
