Anyone ever try Storagetreasures.com to Buy?
mrwoogieman replied to cigars&comix's topic in Comics General
I bought a long box or two out of storage units in my time, but not because they were abandoned property. I just met the owners there and did some business. Got a nice Batman Adventures 12 off one guy! -

The Director General of the Society - still in existence in the same location in NYC - is looking forward to the return of this bookmark to display in their library. I'll probably drop it off in person sometime next month so I can take a look around. -
That was as succinctly as he could put it!

Any idea if this is a published artist or is it someone trying to pick up a woman by drawing her profile on a piece of scrap paper? It's literally on the bottom of a folded up cardboard food container that you'd see at a con. Looks like a three namer in silver ink, first name Alan or Adam? -

I found this for $1 at the flea market Sunday morning, the cover is knocked off and it's in pretty rough shape. But all the pages are there. And this was inside, which I think is kinda neat -
I think a lot of what went on with Stan at the end was the result of him outliving so many in his life, not least of which his wife Joanie, and others as well.

This AARP article was linked on Mark Evanier's blog: https://www.aarp.org/entertainment/celebrities/info-2020/stan-lee-elder-abuse.html A shame they don't still horse whip people.

Thanks for typing this all out, pretty much what I've been thinking since reading this thread.

The Madness of not being able to find that one comic you know you have
mrwoogieman replied to Ares's topic in Comics General
I lost a poster in my home office for about 2-3 years. I knew it was there but I didn't know where. Finally, I found it one day doing another sweep - it was in a keeper magazine box in my closet but it was in a cardboard sandwich and the sandwich was at the end of the box and I obviously kept passing over it thinking it was just the end of the box! -
Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
mrwoogieman replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Good idea. I'll submit, you pay for everything? If I wanted to bankroll it myself, I wouldn't have bothered suggesting it here I would've just gone ahead and done it and then posted the results. People can criticize all they like but if they don't have empirical evidence of over-grading all they are doing is blowing out hot air. -
Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay

Maybe someone could buy some Grime books and submit a batch and see what comes back. Consider the investment a public service to the boards. That would be worth more than just saying, "there's no way that book is that grade!" all the time. -

I had an opportunity to do some dollar box diving at a local garage sale this weekend - at the house of a local comic con/show vendor. Unfortunately, he had most of the stuff color coded yellow/green/red/blue for $1/$2/$5/$10 books, or prices as marked. I found a bunch of yellow stickered books (all bagged and boarded too which is i nice): Superman 74 second print, Superman 75 second print (2 copies) and third print (3 copies) Some X-Books, the Phalanx Covenant cross over and the hologram cover books - 7-8 issues total Hulk 2099 - two newsstand issues Couple Image newsies, Cyber Force 1 and 2 I believe Couple Silver Wolf issues for my personal collection Eclipse Comics' X-Farce parody book Few other issues, nothing great. Oh, and I splurged for a red stickered Spawn newsstand $5!, a random issue below 30 I believe, nothing special.

Ah yes, the Bellmore flea. I am convinced that if you went up to any of the regular sellers and offered to buy them out they would refuse on the grounds that they would then have nothing to do the following weekend! I hit up one garage sale in Bellmore Saturday morning that said "comic art" in the listing. To this seller, that meant a framed promo poster for the Netflix Defenders series. All was not lost, however, as he had some books and I found two volumes of the Library of Graphic Novelists - Art Spiegelman and Will Eisner. Pretty cool thin little hardcovers and a steal at $3 each. -

Finally got around to reading Negan Lives. Even reading 174 beforehand couldn't make this dud sing. It added nothing to the franchise, the story, or the character. Hopefully it served its stated purpose of providing a sales boost to LCS because there was nothing else there. -
Dude, show some gratitude. The guy unstuck your hard drive and now you own a chain of successful comic and collectibles shops across the mid-west!
