  1. Finally found another double cover - it's literally been years! MCP 78 double cover and a newsstand issue to boot!
  2. Good for Bob! Look at how much goodwill he's generating on this just here alone. I would love to see him set up a big wheel at a con!

  4. I have about 100 post-2000 DC newsstand issues that I will be listing in this thread. I picked almost all of these up about 4 years ago from a reader rather than a collector so the comics came to me without bags and boards and with plenty of spine creases, etc. Consider them to be in Fine condition and you won't be disappointed, and may be pleasantly surprised. I will provide a complete list below along with a few representative scans to show condition. Prices are $1 each, or 6/$5, or 12/$10, etc. Rules: Payment by Paypal only. Shipping as follows: for U.S. buyers 1-4 comics via USPS First Class for $5.00, 5+ comics will go USPS Media Mail for flat $5.00 charge - buy as many as you like for the same flat $5. International bidders are welcome, but be prepared to pay actual shipping and be careful, just because the comics are cheap doesn't mean the shipping will be; please inquire beforehand if you have any concerns. I don't usually ship outside of the US (but am willing to make an exception for fellow boardies) so I have no idea what the shipping charges will be. Those on the PL or in the HOS are not permitted to buy. If you are on ignore, you cannot buy. If you are on my personal list, you cannot buy. in the thread rules all. Returns - I will accept returns for any reason, just reach out and tell me what's the matter! That's about it. Good luck!
  5. Met him several times at the Big Apple Cons, he would share a table with Jim Salicrup, both very nice guys. In that environment they seemed like a couple of irreverent teenagers. RIP
  6. These are great books in condition that average collectors can afford! Love to see these types of threads here!
  7. Do some searching, this was only on page 2!
  8. My ancient Epson 2400 photo flatbed scanner just keeps plugging along. Gotta be 12-15 years old by this point, and whenever I get a new computer I have to search the web for the drivers. But I'll keep using it until it dies someday!
  9. Nice bump! There's a rapist AND a child molester on page 2, and sadly they're two different boardies.
  10. It's a little lost in the shuffle up there. You should quote it down when you update it so that your scholarship is not lost!
  11. $50 for the pair in less than NM condition to the same buyer.
  12. I would also add MTU 4 to your list of notable issues. An all-new story featuring the original X-Men team, whose own title had gone into reprint purgatory two years prior, plus a relatively early appearance of Morbius the Living Vampire! Not to mention the cool picture frame format with a tough black cover border. Here is a low grade copy that I had lying around.
  13. I don't know about Walking Dead or Image comics in particular, but with Marvel the indicia date often didn't change from one printing to the next, so people will use the ads in the later printings to estimate their publication dates.
  14. As Dan likes to say - To The Long Boxes!! Found a FCBD 2007 and an ASM 546 hiding in there - woohoo!
  15. Does the seller name dekada_collectibles ring a bell? I ask only because it made me think of an ebay seller I bought from a long time ago (2009, according to my records) who had sold me a ridiculous amount of low-grade GA books for dirt-cheap. They were obscure titles, like all the Timely cowboy romance books. He was located in the Philippines. It always struck me as odd that this guy had all this stuff. Well it didn't ring any bells, but I just went through my feedback and see that I left that seller feedback a loooong time ago! Here is the item number listed with the feedback - 726706211. Is there a way to figure out how long ago it was? edit - all I can figure out is that I left him feedback sometime within his first 100 transactions on eBay, he joined in July 2000 and I joined in December 2000, since then he's racked up 6,000 plus feedback!
  16. Grand Comic Database says yes, pencils and inks. Speaking of Frank Miller BA covers, what about this one?
  17. Here's a good one - sometime back in the very early 2000's I found a seller based in the Philippines that had some incomplete coverless Golden Age books for sale. I think I bought an incomplete Kid Komics off of him and I asked him if he had any more. He said that I missed out, that he had sold off all the ones with covers and that all he had left was coverless and incomplete comics and he didn't even know what issues they were to list them. I offered to help him out and we struck a deal where he sent me pics of the comics and I would look them up for him by the story titles (I think I used Grand Comic Database, I guess he didn't have that) and as payment I could choose one of the comics and he would send it to me as a thank you. The one I chose was about 6-8 wraps of Captain America 1 - I told him which issue they came from and he was happy to send it!
  18. My take on the eroding quality is that Kirkman and his comic plots were cast aside in favor of ideas from people in the tv business who think they know better than the creator. They were wrong in this case, but who are the powers that be going to side with - their cronies who they hired to deliver the product or the outsider who brought in the original idea?
  19. Hi Jimmers! Is your family motto LUBRICANTS too? Don't forget to bowl for your health!
  20. Is that the Murderworld issue? As a kid I loved Arcade in his X-Men appearances!
