  1. Picked up another half dozen of these at a local antique shop that has lots of comics. I have 25-30 or so issues now with a few dupes.
  2. Would there be any interest in a low to mid grade 12/15 cent Archie titles sales thread? I've accumulated a short box full, somehow, and was thinking of doing a simple condition-based sale, 3.0/4.0-5.0/6.0+ for $1/$2/$3, something like that.
  3. Haven't been there for many a year, but was a semi-regular for a bit when I worked in the Equitable building.
  4. They've definitely gained a following and are a fun set to put together. Not sure how you're gauging "popular", but the under-the-radar Star Comics books are generally the toughest to find in better-than-marginal shape and especially any of those books in 9.6 or 9.8 -- they're going to be very expensive. https://comiclists.wordpress.com/2014/05/07/marvel-25th-anniversary-covers/ Here's a little write up on the different issues in the series.
  5. Sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie, but I'll never know...
  6. I noticed a couple of the Marvel 25th Anniversary "portrait covers" seem to sell pretty well. Any info on which ones are more popular than others?
  7. I was stunned to read that the lead is Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid's kid!
  8. Couple more SME 15 CGC 9.8 issues have hit GPA - $5,200 and $4,600. GPA Is a sea of green arrows on this title all the way down.
  9. Hey, look at that someone sold a SME 9.8 on eBay today for $5,700!
  10. Yes, I made a profit. Actually, I checked my records and I sold it in July 2006 for $2,550 on eBay. The ASM 1 went for $1,800. It was all part of assembling my house down payment.
  11. Finally found my first Mark Jewelers insert in the wild - ASM 321!
  12. Looks like he pulled it before it sold. CLink SME 15 CGC 9.8 is currently sitting at $5,725, ending tonight. Meanwhile, the two copies sitting on eBay have had their BINS adjusted to $6,999 and $6,950 respectively.
  13. $5,089 one day left. Nice. I am kicking myself extra hard right now for not snagging either of the TOD #10 CGC 9.8 or CGC 9.6 copies on Clink last October or November. I had the funds available and was willing to outbid the prices they fetched, but I thought there would be better deals this year since movie/TV rumors had fizzled. I had to settle for a couple of 9.4s instead. I'll never get over selling my AF15 3.0 for $1,800 in 2003. It's small solace knowing that I would have sold it many times over since then given the price run-up, but to think that the same book now goes for about 10X that amount stings a bit. In any event, market watch update on the SME 15 9.8 is $5,289 with a day and six hours left. Shattering the former GPA high of $4,000. This is making the copy on eBay for $5,999 look less pie in the sky.
  14. I just hate to see people in personal turmoil, like Chuck is expressing in his missive. It's sad.
  15. Who's the focus group? Are we the focus group? What the hell do we know about Bisbee retailing?
  16. The SME 15 CGC 9.8 on Comiclink is up to $4,889 with three days left.
  17. It's up to $2,400 with 12 days left. I forget, does GPAnalysis use Comiclink sales data?
  18. Just go to Comic Depot and set up a pull for your beloved ASM - Alan will take care of it, no worries. Tell him the tall guy with the german shepherd says it's okay.
