  1. It just occurred to me now (after a quick Google search) that Dazzler: The Movie was never actually a movie. I would have assumed the vinyl was the official soundtrack remade for the exclusive, but no.
  2. I can't believe how perfect this guy is for the role. I am so excited for the Summer to end... but only for this.
  3. It occurred to me last week that this will be opening the weekend of the Tampa Bay Comicon, and I might not be able to see it until I get back to Vancouver. I'm getting so used to going opening night
  4. You betcha. Late 90s, early 2000's. Damn if you can find them in Near Mint.
  5. Who would have these procedures in place? CGC could very easily and it would be very beneficial for them and their customers. It's not that hard to Google these books as they come through the door. As the OP stated, the fact that they can't tell that these aren't from the original American publisher is pretty odd.
  6. I've loved every modern Doctor for very different reasons. This Matt Smith rumour has to be completely bogus - the article is based on absolutely nothing of value and it just would make no sense for the show, IMO.
  7. CGC does not have procedures in place to properly identify foreign comic books, and does not care enough to try harder. I'm sorry you've had this experience.
  8. No, because they touched it up in CGI like they probably will here.
  9. I agree. I thought it was God awful. Good parts, yes but overall my least favorite comic book movie post 2007. The biggest hump to get over: He did not look that purple in the movie. What? You don't like purple? I adore purple. It's one of my favourite colours. I don't think Apocalypse should be purple.

But he looked just as derpy. Granted, I feel like his pupils should have been whited out more. He looked a little too cute for my liking sometimes. I believe Nick posted another concept costume design for Apocalypse much earlier in this thread and it was like the comic book came to life. That's what I would have preferred and I'm not sure why they opted for the more human look.

  12. Yes, but that was long before Miles Morales even existed and presumably there was extensive negotiating on a number of fronts in the new Marvel-Sony deal, possibly including this. That's wishful thinking. Marvel stepped in to salvage and redeem the legacy of Peter Parker on film. And there have always been plenty of other Spider derivative characters out there. Miles Morales is just another in a long line (and not even the most interesting or best selling one ). Stan Lee is on the record saying that Peter Parker will always be "Spider-Man" on the big screen. Marvel just barely got back their biggest toy. No one is even thinking about Miles Morales (other than maybe all the speculators stock piling copies of ultimate fallout 4). -J. I disagree with you. There was a large amount of support for Donald Glover when he was vying for the Morales role, which can't all have just been Glover love. I've also seen a few people on these very boards previously express interest in him onscreen. Also, nothing Stan Lee says on record matters at all. He has no say in these movies. I think you're forgetting when the rights deal for Spider-man were actually struck. It's common knowledge that Peter Parker as Spider-Man in every (live action) big screen film was part of the deal. Period. -J. Okay, but are you referring to the deal back in the 90s, or in 2014?

  15. I think it's definitely possible to include Miles as an older Spider-Man-type character without actually giving him the main mantle. In fact, I love the idea. I know it's not true to the comics, but what if Morales had been acting as his own version of Spidey behind the scenes for awhile and comes out of the shadows to mentor Peter somehow? I don't know, that seems so cool to me. The problem with that is Iron Man is suppose to be Spidey's mentor in the film. It could just be that they gave him a part as a tribute to Morales of sorts but actually have no connection to him in the story-line. Besides, didn't Sony or Marvel say that they have no intention of bringing Morales to the big screen a while back? I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. Yes, homage is all we really need. The other thing to consider is that Miles should be reserved for when Tom Holland gets too old or busy to play the part and they need to write him out.

  17. Hogwash. I think the critics just have refined taste & can separate good from mediocre from bad. Case in point: they gushed over Deadpool, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Batman '89, etc. And I haven't checked lately but I'm fairly certain Spider-Man 2 & X-Men 2 are each considered the best of their respective franchises, & with good reason. Here Occam's Razor dictates that maybe the critics (gasp!) recognize quality, regardless of the studio that produced it. I don't disagree with you at all, but I do feel the need to point out that Marvel Studios as we know it today wasn't around to compete with any of those movies except Deadpool.
  18. I fully believe that the premise of the movie will be to pass the torch onto the next Wolverine character, in this case, X-23. I think Weapon X in theory refers to Wolverine, but the plot will involve ...trying to clone Wolverine for his own purposes, which will result in X-23.
  19. Holy mess. The closest thing I've ever been to is a place called Silver City which is a damn sexy theatre with a restaurant/bar inside. Love getting a light buzz on before the movie.
  20. Yes, it was in the Wolverine. So the Wolverine takes place prior to present day in DOFP. I'd think the new Wolverine movie takes place after the present day time line change at the end of DOFP. I guess it does get a bit confusing. This movie has been quoted as taking place "in the future", which I interpret as after the final mansion sequence in DoFP.
