    Probably because there aren't a hell of a lot of female superheroes to work with that have the potential star power Captain Marvel does - besides, they're working specifically with Carol Danvers, not some made up "female version" of the character. I imagine she'll wind up essentially playing the Ms. Marvel role, but Ms. Marvel might not translate as well as "Captain"

    1) His motivation, while not perfect, makes sense. Wait and see. Without going into detail, it's an irrational decision made out of torment. 2) Agreed, silly. 3) Again, completely ridiculous of them to try to pull of as normal.

    Like when Heimdall was cast, many people pointed out how that went against Norse mythology. I know he was much more of a supporting character than the Ancient One, but that did turn out pretty well
