Also if you were a consignor what prompted you to go with them over the larger auction houses like Heritage and CLink?

The Starman page on mcs is mine, figured I would see if it was worth a shot. I also have some Andy MacDonald published pages there, sold 2 or 3 dirt cheap (under $50). I am regretting it now tbh, it is up there 6 months and I will probably just have it returned when it hits the year. Nice splash page priced at $1000 or so.

  2. gonna put this here :sumo:

I moved last week. Joey also dropped off some books the very day I emailed him my new address and they shipped from cgc last week to my old address. FedEx failed delivery today (I was going to go get them off my old porch but no luck, sig required and driver respected it which is not what I expected). So I called cgc and spoke with customer service. I believe that I had Celeste. She was awesomely helpful, we are going to have them re-routed hopefully to me and that is that. I did not think they did that but that is what Celeste said. B| It will cost 20 bucks, but just more moving money down the drain I guess.

    So Celeste rocks. :headbang:

This was not an official statement, and was just my opinion.  I'll contact upper management tomorrow and find out exactly why it is taking so long to log ME's into the system.  I see there is another thread about ME's that seems to be a different problem.  (not sure if it is or isn't)  I will find out about this as well.

CGC not profiting from ME submissions has nothing to do with TAT's.

Is this your opinion or an official statement? What is the possible reason for 2 month TATs on MEs then? Why would it take longer to reholder a comic than to grade and reholder a more expensive comic? The only reason seems to be $, they are not prioritized due to not generating income. If not that, what is the reason for 2 month reholders?

  5. MEs should be done immediately upon receipt at CGC. The idea that an item not properly encapsulated has to go back into a queue is just bad service. TATs on ME should be no longer than walk through, the rest is just more fisting from the cgc customer disservice department.

Is it safe to assume QC is not being adequately performed? TATs go down, but MEs go up?

give him 2 weeks for an answer

  6. well it was $50 a sig, so forget that. I bought 6 of the calendar prints instead. they are still in the car, got pizza on the way home and didn't want to touch the prints until cleansed. I'll get them out in a bit and show them off. I'm going back to talk a little business (first live auctioneers auction in January) and a little pleasure, may get some more steranko merch

CGC has intentionally throttled Economy to disincentivize people from using the cheapest tier and instead pay up for Fast Track. I don't think it's a coincidence that Fast Track Economy is currently moving at lightning speed.

No addressing anyone specific, but you really have to wear rose colored glasses to think it is anything but this.

mikey checked and was told the economy tier was "the last thing to get addressed" or something like that. I emphasize the word last, as in it will never be fixed. I am not sure it was meant that way, typed words lose context, maybe they meant only remaining but since we have seen no changes (5 days, whoopitdeedo) I would think when they say "last" they mean never, and not at the end.

cgc has gone rotten from the core...it has spread slowly but surely and now even the boards are craptastic. Fun in submitting, fun with slabbing, fun with talking about slabbing here on the boards...all falling apart or gone entirely

    I'm ok with that too.

I mean, at this rate - we're going to see NFL Superpro and Turner D. Century on the Avengers before we get X-Men.

yeah, I guess mutants may be on my roster above (Namor?, never sure what he is) but I did mean X-Men as well

I was saying to wifey the other day, when they bring in the X-Men I hope we get young Rogue who then ends Carol Danvers' time on screen and becomes the powerhouse Rogue I want to see, not the one walking on the Earth but the one flying in the sky sugah! It would be a great way for Brie Larson to move on in a few years and works perfect with the comics source material.

  9. the run of JSA I enjoyed had Jack Knight Starman, my boy!, for one issue and then Stargirl. The old guys were mostly gone, Wildcat was around as mentor and Jay and Alan as well but it was also focused on newer generation. Johnny Thunder passes the lightning bolt to Jakeem Thunder and that was fun.  I had never read JSA before James Robinson Starman introduced me to the characters but I love the books I read in that decade. Mister Terrific was an arrogant (ithought Richard was now allowed?). but a fun read, new Hourman and Dr Fate IIRC both groovy as well. Hawkgirl (name escapes me, Shiera Saunders?), Atom Smasher.

I am an odd DC JSA duck, I care not for Barry Allen, give me Wally or Jay and Alan Scott is my GL from the Golden Age, Starman and these JSA issues and I care little and no little of any other GL. So when guys in the LCS are saying the old Flash is the best I usually pipe up with "Jay? He's my Flash". I did read the wonderful Waid Flash with Wally and Linda, so Wally is aces in my book too.

Does he do promotion for GOTG3 or does Feige fire him?

good question, since I am doing wifey posts now, she said something earlier tonight about the Guardians Holiday Special ( to which I replied, yes I told you about that the other night for the second or third time) and is looking forward to it now that pajiba or whatever mentioned it. but he has that first and then guardians 3 to promote, so good question

What is her definition of 'some good DC movies'?

enjoyable, coherent movies, preferably with no comic knowledge required. she enjoyed BoP but not Suicide Squad 1. She is out of earshot but IIRC she thought the Gunn Suicide Squad was fine but nothing special. She loves Guardians though. she is a fair single person stand in for movies in general...not too pre-judgy like my daughters. I made her watch Snyderverse with me over a few nights and she enjoyed it enough to finish but on her own, nah. she's perfect, so yeah, her definition is the correct one. :sumo: (and so y'all know, zero chance she ever reads that)

The Peacemaker HBO Max show has made me a James Gunn believer. Here's hoping this is the beginning of something for DC movies and TV.

I haven't watched Peacemaker but I am a big believer in James Gunn as well. Hopefully he gets his creative juices flowing and things get coherent and fun.
