  1. Grendel has long been a favorite. I am hopeful we see a finished product somewhere. For some reason as soon as I saw this guy I think his body shape screams Grendel, not in every photo but in this one and a few others. this guy in the suit holding the staff would look fantastic, like the statue I think

  2. I prefer dealers who refuse F&F, which is a sign they are a real and trustworthy dealer.

I would never 3rd party payment someone unless a friend, a real friend, is involved. Saw a play recently where it was stated...business is business. And for some people that means they can screw someone, it ain't personal it's business. (Yes it is a bit of a sociopathic viewpoint.) So don't be surprised when things get lost on loan, prices change between middlemen, and people disappear with money. It's business to them. Don't put yourself in a position to have someone give you da'business is my advice.

John Buscema, among others of his era, understood classical anatomy

yes he certainly did, how about Gene Colan though?

they are all making choices. Buscema's demons are where he gets funky and his 80s Avengers are to his earlier stuff what this Thing is to Ronin.

My point was about editors sending art back, striving for realism isn't a top priority on a cover.

  4. comic book figures are not realistic, it is not just Liefeld or FM. (BTW, I am not a fan of this Thing. ugly WW, trashy Black Canary, they are what he intended but this seems, while intentional, poorly visualized with no depth as mentioned earlier.) Editors accept wonky anatomy...I remember hating on Jim Starlin predrawn con offerings because the poses meant each characters legs were different lengths but my pal told me to lighten up, they looked good and he was right in the end.

  6. glad to see it settled, I hope to OP's satisfaction :golfclap:

I hope we can get a statement at some point in the future to restore confidence. It doesn't have to be specific ("we are aware of the circumstances surrounding this book and have modified our processes to eliminate the chance of similar occurrences in the future") but this seems like sweeping it under the rug, but we still know it is there

This Econ fiasco is just CGC raising the prices without actually raising the prices. They aren't stupid, they know the OCD nature of collectors and that folks will pony up the extra $15 for FT and not have to wait a year. Don't see them changing the TAT's on Econ any time soon.

absolutely, although I would add in addition it being a price raise it is also a delay of the reinforcement/reward; they are actively dissuading ET submissions.

We are looking into this.  It may take a day or two before we have an answer.

He has been wronged but cgc will get back to him at their leisure. He should have been contacted immediately and re-assured it would be investigated. Yeah, better to leave him hanging since CGC remains a geographical anomaly...two weeks from everywhere. He can just check into the message board every few days until someone can explain to him how he was stolen from, let's inconvenience the guy as much as possible. :headbang:
