  1. It is on the inside cover that will not get the qualified label.
  2. I saw three people snatched Journey into Mystery #86 first Odin, early Tales of Suspense issue, Batman #200 and Our Army at War #85 1st Ice Cream Soldier. I don't know how many more books they took. Just glanced at them in their bags. Missed them by few minutes so I decided to grab many books I could find. Made the offers to the people who handled the estate sales. They accepted my offer. Those pictures showed only five books online but there were 60-70 books. Two guys took about 15 of them. One young guy took two. I took 34. The remaining books are not worth money. The people told me all comic books were brought down from the attic first time since early 1970's and they didn't have time to do the appraisal on them. She told me that owner wanted $500 for whole collection but no one did. We bought individuals much cheaper. I will say half of them have slight brittle edges due to the heat inside the attic for many years. Some edges looked like burned but moisture damages that became brittle condition. My opinion is for the estate people are totally amateurs. Three guys were ahead of me and I didn't know they had the numbers. I took #29 and waited for 20 minutes outside before I got inside. The estate people didn't tell me that and they were unprepared. The door was finally opened 15 minutes after 10am. Also, they didn't take the pictures enough for the comic books. What I saw inside the house is more than the pictures.
  3. It looks like a ghost in that photograph.
  4. Went to the estate sale today. Missed the chance to grab some minor key issues after three guys ran off with them. So what was left so I decided to grab most of the remaining comic collection. I hope I didn't regret with my decision and I didn't want to go home empty hands. I am going to sell all of them in the selling area only thread now.
  5. No difference for CGC. I don't think anything will make the difference with those price boxes.
  6. I went to Antique Mall then the local antique store today. Found two books.... 1st appearance of Power Girl - about GD+ 2.5 but only 2 bucks! Cool Michael Gould cover. Also Vietnam Vet Don Lomax wrote this issue. About VF/NM for 3 bucks. Not bad finds.
  7. was this in Niles? Hey Hector, that is correct! I showed up before the door opened to the public. i saw it on tuesday night, went by Wednesday and it was all gone. glad to hear someone got it from the boards. i saw a doctor strange in the pics. i thought it was #169 Me too. That was a bronze age - 2nd Series Doctor Strange. I am surprised all books were gone! Not much worth books.
  8. +1 My wife will tell me to throw it away if I bring it to my house.
  9. was this in Niles? Hey Hector, that is correct! I showed up before the door opened to the public.
  10. Last week on Monday morning, it was the estate sale. I raked through 1400+ comic book (the house was nearly hoarded) and found New Mutants #87 VF, 2 X-Men Annual #14 both NM, Secret Wars #8 VF, Marvel Spotlight #1 Red Wolf NM, Omega Men #3 VG and Thanos Quest #1 Fine (water stains in ever page) for $20. Another guy competed with me at the same time. I saw he sntached Cat #1, two Rawhide kid and some 15 cent non-key Aquaman copies. I had them in my hands but they were about 20 bucks each. Those were super low grade so I handed them over to him. There were only 5% valued books in the collection that we got all. Before we entered the house, the manager warned us that guy was coming to buy them all for $500 so we grabbed the best books that we could find before he showed up. I never saw the guy came. I think the manager might bluff. Even though I got a good deal.
  11. Hello War Comic Collectors (included me too)! I know I sounded silly. I started to collect Star Spangled War Stories in late 2014 focusing on Mademoiselle Marie, Enemy Ace and Unknown Soldier. I never thought about the Dinosaur covers -- soon I will receive #90 from MSC that begins "War that Time Forgot" series. Did those dinosaurs eat soldiers? I never saw or open the books to see what happened to them. Those wrecked all war machines but not men?
  12. 232 would be my alternative choice as well, featuring the debut of my favourite Batman villain. 251 wins out on nostalgia value, being the first Adams DC comic that really impressed me, and it features some exceptional artwork. I read it as a reprint in a small, Best of DC digest comic in the late 70s, and soon afterwards bought an original copy. I nearly collected all Neal Adams Batman/Detective Comics. Only one missing is Tec #408. I narrowly missed it twice but I will get it somehow no matter how hard to get it! I always believe all copies were done by Neal Adams even only covers he did will be hot in ten years.
  13. That is awesome! What else is in there with it? Shazam 5 and Superboy 197 That may be a sentiment value because it is inside the original 3 comic book pack. I have not seen this one for a long time since I was a young boy. That was the last time I saw the pack at Woolworth. It is still amazing one!
  14. I collect all Adams cover (thumbs u but 411 is a tough one...all I have is a low grade reader. I don't see high grade copy of that book often and when I do, the price is way too wacky for me to buy.... What are the average grades on those books?
  15. Amazing! It looks like Hake's Auction but it is your original collection. It's fun to see your real stuffs from many years ago.
  16. To anyone who are ready to part Star Spangled War Stories #84-#91. I am interested. I do have #84, #85, #86, #87 and #90. All are below 5.0 -- all are attached to the covers.
  17. Please add me on the list too. Board Name = JollyComics eBay = mjsjes2jzd2 Many thanks!
  18. Oh bummer. I just sold my ASM Civil War issues two months ago but I still have ASM #529 1st Iron Spidey. Funny thing is that issue was unsold and re-listed for the third time in three weeks. I had ZERO watcher in those weeks. All of the sudden, I have 9 watchers on my book that hasn't bid. I saw the announcement was made on February 9th and I am now understood why my book is now targeted. You can PM me. I will direct you to the right thread.
  19. Thank you HarveySwick. I may pursue the second copy. Wait and see but I have at least one copy! It is always excellent to be part of it.
  20. Count me in! I just got it off MSC last month.
  21. The years of 1977-79 are my highlighted times in my life. I was 12-14 years old by that time included early Atari and first Star Wars movie. I was surrounded by four LCS, Woolworth, Ben Franklin, 7-11, White Pantry and Walgreens within the walking distance. If I missed the issue, I could use my alternative place to get the issue without missing the rhythm. I loved my moments when I read them while I walked home.
  22. This is first time to do it. Please add two bidders/buyers on the blocked user list: doingitright2010 - No response to few emails, opened case for one week, one more email (I tried to warn the buyer before closing the case) and still no response. I finally closed the case two days later. One day later, he flipped me off with profanity. Finally I got first response and explained. He still pissed me off with other profanity. I blocked him out. sidetracked77 - Unresponsive. I closed the case for the unpaid item. He came back to bid my same book. I removed his bid then blocked him out. He changed his ID. I forgot his first ID name.
