  1. Likewise to both sentiments, Scott. I took a look for my old copy in the three you posted, but I think you've upgraded way past it! Nice haul! I still have your old copy and a few others, but they were in a different box that I didn't want to climb up a ladder to get to. It's rough getting old.
  2. Only a loser would hoard multiple copies of this book. (There would be six here, but the other two copies are at my office.) Happy 2/27! You've been holding out on me, Jon.
  3. I bought some sweet high grade Jimmy Olsen's from Sharon. Super nice lady and the books were expertly packed. Thanks Sharon!
  4. I was surprised at the price of the 395. Hopefully I can nab a cheaper 9.2 copy soon.
  5. Would that make 10 in the census in 9.8? As the numbers swell a bit I believe the price will come down. 9.8's - 7 blue, 1 SS 8 total February 11th, one more blue was added (from 6 copies to 7). I've seen scans of 5 of the 7 blues, of those only 2 had super wraps and registration. The Oakland copy is the best I've seen.
  6. Another 227 9.8 is in this month's CL auction. It looks like it was just added w/o scans. I wouldn't mind for the price to drop on nosebleed graded copies. I'd love to own a 9.8, but at 4-6K, no thanks.
  7. Deja vu. He did the same thing to me. Complained about books being inaccurately graded, wanted a partial refund. I only had a few dollars in the books (dollar box finds) and the transaction wasn't for a whole lot of money (less than 50 bucks) so I agreed on a partial instead of a return and full refund. I suggested 10 or 15, he wanted 20. I said ok whatever, just to be done with it. I make a WTB thread, he can't figure out why I blocked him after I didn't want to make an offer on his books sight unseen. Reading his posts in this thread and seeing other people's thoughts about him just my confirmed my suspicions as a character to avoid. Now 4 confirmed cases. +5 incoming. i would try to lay out my case but this is it almost exactly. good riddance to bad rubbish. Yikes! If he claimed that you overgraded, that doesn't bode well for him.
  8. Cool book but having never read it I'm not sure I understand the significance of the cover. Is his "banging" killing the scientist? Here's a review of the book along with some interior pages. Some wild stories back then and some great art. http://iamthephantomstranger.blogspot.com/2008/11/phantom-stranger-13-june-1971.html
  9. Just bought this one. Been looking quite a while for this one in high grade.
  10. Look at what's up for auction in February.
  11. We aren't going to find out what the Oakland copy is going to bring just yet. The owner yanked the listing for the CL Feb. Auction.
  12. you still believe in Santa and Unicorn Nah, I only believe in the tax man. He's coming soon, too.
  13. I was surprised it didn't get the PQ bump along with the 9.8. Nevertheless, a beautifully registered book. My naive side wants to believe the owner just did a straight resub. I don't listen to my naive side much anymore.
  14. Good call on this one. No PQ bump. http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fauctions%2Fpreview%2Easp%3Fcode%3D2014feb%26pg%3D2%23Item%5F997368&id=997368
  15. Stunning books, Scott. Congrats on the grades and happy new year.
  16. This little rascal just went up for sale. I'm playing MegaMillions and Powerball this weekend.
  17. Bought a couple of sweet high grade bronze Hulks from Mark. They are beautiful. Thanks again Mark. Scott
  18. justin case has no excuse. Yea, I hope a boardie won it. CL screwed up. I didn't receive an outbid notice and miscalculated the ending time. I can buy Christmas presents for the family instead now.
  19. The Oakland 227 closed at $2,407.00. I thought it would go much higher. Congrats to whomever won it. It sure is a beautiful book.
