  1. That is an amazing looking book. Congrats, Bob!
  2. This is a bit surprising. Perfectly wrapped copy, yea, I would understand. A very stout price for this wrap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Man-24-CGC-9-4-HIGH-GRADE-Comic-Origin-of-Black-Goliath-Ringmaster-/221720726170?ssPageName=ADME%3AB%3AWNA%3AUS%3A3160&nma=true&si=EgUTzaVADsnk4SsavLY5Uigeqho%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  3. Just sitting there... just sitting there at $1500 for a miswrapped 9.8 should not be too shocking Bingo.
  4. Don't have it. MOTP#20 is one tough book. Only seven copies have cracked the 9.0 level. I would like to own a high-grade copy someday, like the Rosa (9.6) that's been on eBay for months. But that seller's price point is way too rich for me. So for the time being, I acquired the next best thing. Now that is "balla"! Beautiful!
  5. Holy mackerel! http://www.highgradecomics.com/article.php?dynamic=book_details&id=102436
  6. Your copy is awesome as is. This book isn't that common with good centering, which yours obviously has. Sweet copy!
  7. It is definitely a scarce book in 9.6 or higher. 8 9.8's and 13.9.6's. There are 86 copies 9.2 or better. I consider that pretty tough for an early 70's book. When you consider 1/3 to 1/2 are miswrapped, that shrinks the best looking copies down considerably. I have no idea how many have been resubbed to a higher grade, but it isn't many. One would think that after the first 9.8 sold for 10k, the floodgates would open for HG submissions. 8 graded copies in 6 or 7 years is a trickle. There aren't boatloads of 9.2+ copies. Edit: I didn't include Yellow labels as I don't pay attention to signature books. The total numbers are 10 9.8's, 15 9.6's and 95 copies total in 9.2 and higher. Still a modest census count for 9.2 and above.
  8. That FF collection is pure sweetness. I got dizzy viewing that FF #5. What a beauty.
  9. No LCS's in my hometown, but I would often nag my folks to take me to a shop in Stockton, CA on Pacific Avenue (before Al's Comics). They closed after a year or so and I picked up books across the street at a place called Avenue Books. Mitch M. opened a shop not too far away from Pacific Avenue in either 79 or 80. I bought several high grade spidey's from him (39,43, 52 and a few others) along with a sweet FF Annual 2. I distinctly remember he had a low grade AF15 in a big glass case. Being a high grade snob, I didn't even consider it at the time. I think he had it priced at $450.00. It was always a treat to visit Comics and Comix on k street in Sacramento. Saw my first Strange Tales 110 along with JIM83, Avengers 1, etal. My favorite shop during the late 70's/early 80's was Atlantis Fantasyworld in Santa Cruz. They had a huge building downtown chock full of GA, SA and BA books. I picked up my X-men 1, GS X-men 1, 94-121 and countless other books from them. I have fond memories of all of these places.
  10. What a beauty! Try finding another well registered copy like this one. I dare you. (Then sell it to me).
  11. Bill Foster / Black Goliath was the 1st superhero casualty in Civil War, and if the movie remotely follows the storyline, dig out those Power Man 24s Please dig them out and sell. I"ve been hunting PM 24's for a year and have only bought 2 high grade raws. There are no high grade copies for sale on all of the normal venues.
  12. Awesome. Never seen such a white copy. That's pretty white. It's a pity neither of you guys have a 9.2 though.
  13. Wow! Congrats and welcome to the club.
  14. Need to bring this thread to page 1. Values have increased throughout 2014. Will there be a 9.4+ in 2015?
  15. Bah, cameos! BWA-HA-HA-HA... -slym Those hacks will never amount to anything . . . That Rose fella amassed a pretty good career despite being a disembodied head Long live the King! Cooperstown or "bust" eh? I bet he liked posing for that picture.
  16. Is Divad a sanitation engineer? A whole lotta grime usernames.
