TWD #1 CGC 9.8 black label fans are really obnoxious.
I agree with this!
-
What if actual zombies start popping out of the ground? Would that cause a spike in the WD #1?

I've always wanted a copy of this book. At one time this was THE book to own.
I wish I could swing it but alas I can't
Good luck Roy

Great to see new TOS 39 owners and the thread bumping.
Nice 4.5!

NOTHING lasts forever.
But can nothing last forever?
Good question!
The dead last forever....

sold for $1600....That's a freaking deal.......
I'm not so sure. $1,600 for 1-4 raw NM. That seems like an okay deal for 4 books that might not grade higher than 9.2-9.4. I don't think it's a steal.
Show to me that WD still has serious demand.
Does grade really matter that much when it comes to SS books, or books up for charity for that matter?
I have no idea what you mean? That auction was not for SS books or a charity to my knowledge.
Grade always matters and correlates to value/cost.

I will say it once more - I don't think anyone here actually thinks this will be a $5 or even $50 comic one day again. It is a modern key, to be sure. I think I speak for most of the so-called "haters" when I say that I believe the book cannot sustain its current value. IMHO, $2000 + is an inflated price due mostly to the show's popularity. In my not-so-professional opinion, the book will dip as far as $400-500 at its worst, but will probably float back up to $800 as a long-term price for CGC 9.8s.
Which, if you paid cover for the book, is still pretty dang awesome!

I think we understood your opinion the first time

Some here would say WD1 is priceless!
I find this whole debate pointless.

black labels are a lot different than white labels guys.
they sell for much more and are much more desirable...
Ridiculous hyperbole.
They sell for slightly more sometimes. The premium over the white counterparts is usually $100-200 more than a while label. Saying they sell for much more and are more desirable is BS.
Outside of this forum and some "knowing" ebayers...this is a non issue. Most don't know anything about this debate.
I find all this posturing is unnecessary. Why the need to say out loud that WD 1 is THE book and is king etc?
Why do some need to post they can't wait for the books price to drop?
And $2500 for a WD1 is a high price. Black label or not.

No offense...I think it is.
Of course having the OA is cool but I don't think the cover is good at all

I have some recent books that came back with this weird indent on the back. I have over 100 slabs and none of the others have this. It's new and strange.

I agree that the covers have been lame by Adlard in recent years. My favorite cover from St Louis WW and that's not even Adlard.

Hey again --
Another new one to my collection (From Filter81) -- one of my favorite early covers and also one of the very toughest to find in HG:
Thanks,
Dan
It’s also one of my favorites (among the others FF #65-67 and #36) but I’ll never be able to "upgrade" it as it’s the one I have signed by Jack.
Awesome white page copy!

And the Wizard World Philly cover...
Sigh. Still no black zombies.
What? Are you implying artists are only drawing Caucasian zombies?
The zombie on the far right can be black...
-
Yeah, i'm with you on that...
I don't like it.

It's going down soon!
I know people are down on the story right now but I think it's going to build up to some awesome stuff....
I have to say I was blown away when Glenn got killed in 100...so I do expect some major action to happen soon.
Bring it.

Actually the number is shrinking...at least by one recently. A boardie had an unfortunate incident where a 9.8 was broken in half in the mail.
I'm sure there are raw copies out there that might have some accident happen to them.
Overall the number isn't increasing.![:)](//content.invisioncic.com/r266625/emoticons/smile.png)
