  1. I sold two F copies of Avengers 181 for $20 each at a show in Charlotte Saturday. One of them was purchased that morn for $6. Also sold a 7.0 Nova 1 for $35.
  2. But who really cares about the first appearance of Scott Lang? I know about movie hype, but this is getting pretty lame when the original Antman/Hank Pym gets ignored. And I'm far from jealous or whatever, as being a hardcore Byrne collector, I have piles of this stuff. You answered your own question. Movie Hype. The person who buys Avengers 181 or Marvel Premiere 47 isnt the type of guy who is going to shell out big bucks for a TTA 27. It's an affordable first appearance of a character that they're basing a movie on. Not a bad pick-up in my opinion.
  3. You are going to either find a cheap BIN on ebay or mannup and pay. POS ASM 300's and NM 98's sell for $50+ on ebay all day long. Thanks, but what is "POS"? "Mannup" is not so clear as well… Piece of mess copies. Also known as Garbage copies. - In poor condition. Mannup, better known as Man Up and more recently, "Sack Up" - Quit whining and pay the asking price for an UXM 266 It is very simple. Come to America with your overpriced Euros, turn them into [now almost worthless] dollars, and schedule your trip around a few comic conventions. Aside from San Diego or NYCC (though I did ok at NYCC this year in my brief time there) there will be cheap books to rummage through. If you look hard enough you will find cheap copies of these books -- except for NM 98, you can forget about that one --- and no way in hell you'll find even a beater of ASM 300 in even a $2 box...so, basically, come to america to find that elusive $2 beat-up copy of x-men 266. while you're at it, pick up some other stuff as well. honestly, if i really had a krap copy to I'd just send it to you at this point, but i don't. I found a 3.0 copy of ASM 300 in Chris Foss' $1 box at his Heroes & Dragons store last year. I've also found numerous UXM 266s (as wellas NM 98) at flea markets for under a dollar in the last year as well. If you search enough, you will find them. I actually took a pic of the last NM 98 I found at a flea for Facebook. 7/1/12
  4. That's what I keep thinking. Maybe I'm wrong and this character has arrived. But I just don't see it. The Joker's own series in the 70's only lasted 9 or 10 issues, and he's the damn Joker! For Harley's series to work, they are going to have make a (reluctant) hero out of her. And I don't know if they will do that. Her 2001 series went 38 issues. That's a pretty successful run for a character that was 10% as popular then as she is now (if that).
  5. What's the reason? From ComicVine : Note: Due to two major misprints (incorrect price and missing page) Boom has requested all retailers not sell this issue on October 30th 2013 and that they are to wait for replacements to be shipped November 13th, some retailers may sell misprint copies anyways.
  6. I hate when I go away for a while. I just scanned through 187 responses and not one single post had a book that was heating up on ebay. Sigh. Serves me right!
  7. Good day at an estate tag sale this morning. Unfortunately a lot of items that were pictured on the website like loose NES Rob, 12" Joes, a Spidey and Batman Mego, Big JIm Road Ripper in box, Evel Knievel stunt cycle in box, etc were mysteriously gone (I was there half an hour before they let anyone in). I did however find a nice assortment of NES games though including sealed Double Dribble and the opened Final Fantasy in the box. Early issues of Nintendo Power, including 1-9, and all the classic games you'd expect to find in a NES lot i.e. Contra, Super Mario 2 & 3, Mike Tyson, Zelda 1 & 2, etc make this a hell of a lot. As an Uncle Scrooge collector, I may have gotten most excited about the Duck Tales magazines though, which I NEVER see!
  8. Ive seen a couple sell to me for a dollar I have access to a couple hundred at 50 cents each.......................
  9. This is the first work by Scott Snyder on Batman and has been commanding a premium for a while now. Great story! Indeed. I got $15 for a copy at Heroes and the guy was thrilled.
  10. Surely this can't be that hard to find, right? I looked through all the usual suspects but there are none available on MyComicShop, ComicCollectorLive, MileHigh, etc and the only ones on ebay are being offered for $55-75. Is it nowhere because it's so hard to find or because no one really cares and it's worth nada so not bothered listing? Has anyone actually ever seen one sell?
  11. The mario and zelda books sell well on eBay in sets in any sort of readable shape. I would be a buyer of all of them at $0.50 as long as I could make sets. Sets don't have to be complete, just groups of different issues. If you get any 9.8 candidates be sure to send me a PM. Or if you decide to pass or are willing to send the couple hundred books to me, also let me know. How were they stored? I doubt there will be any 9.8. Unbagged, unboarded, most not even in comic boxes, just upright stacks in larger storage boxes. There are still some nice copies, just not 9.8s
  12. I found a new honey hole today but unfortunately wasn't able to pick them all dince they were closing early. I pulled out some nice stuff including Transformers 74 (x6) & 80, Batman Adv 12, 56 issues of Infinity Gauntlet, MOTU 12 (x11), etc. My question is this.......would you buy a couple hundred Nintendo Valiant issues for 50 cents each? I saw at least a dozen copies of each Zelda and probably 30+ of all the Marios ( I say all but maybe not as I really wasn't sure which was the last, how many series, etc)?
  13. Over 150 loose and 25+ packaged JLU and Batman Animated figures came home with me today! Had to drop $300 on them but for the number of figs, it's still a solid deal!
  14. I'll save you the trouble. I just found another small pile of them today. I have some catching up to do. I've been selling my lesser copies for $20 to $50 a pop. Where?! I have my copies at $12-15 at local cons and get ZERO interest
  15. Now we wait to see how many people actually pay for their issues they've claimed in my sales thread. Already getting some resistance.
  16. I used to enjoy Larry's report. Then he wouldn't correct errors when they were pointed out and would keep repeating them week after week, even after knowing they were wrong. Add that to he fact that he's not exactly the friendliest guy on the net and that equaled me unsubscribing from his email list and not reading the report anymore. I've never spent a dime with him so I realize that my opinions are completely irrelevant to him, but they are just that.....my opinions.
  17. Closed for $127.50? Maybe I should break mine out! That's nuts! Better make sure my copy is in decent shape. That's just dumb. An already slabbed 9.8 sold for under $75 less than two weeks ago!
  18. That's why. I picked up 2 copies in 3/$1 oxes in Feb and still routinely grab them at $5 at shows.
  19. Counterfeit Dawns? What's the tip-off that they're not on the up-and-up? If you look close at the printing in the cloud section under CRY FOR you can see a checkerboard pattern from the sub-standard printing.Pretty obvious if you know what to look for.
  20. I actually found 6 more after digging through some more boxes. I left 3 because they were destroyed. They were the counterfeit versions, but I bought them all just to get them off the market so as not to be confused by some unknowing soul down the line.
  21. I would say my favorite Larry article from Google is his Twitter war with Kevin, but I won't because I hate non-topical responses.
  22. Mine is nowhere near as cool as the rest to anyone but me and purely for sentimental reasons. I bought this Dinosaur For Hire #6 pg 14 from by Chuck Wojtkiewicz at HeroesCon in the early 90s. I also bought a Jason Pearson LOSH page at the same show (which I no longer have). They were $10 each.
