  1. Hope you didn't pay more than cover price for it, these are still available from the publisher for $5 : http://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=486 Looks like he paid $17 with shipping. Way to throw a little cognitive dissonance up at him! It was actually a little over $12.00 because I bought 2 other books at the same time and he combined shipping on all 3 books. No big deal though. I had forgotten that he posted earlier in the thread about the Alter Ego #21s from the publisher. $12 isnt bad as you were looking at about $8 from the pub after shipping.
  2. As for my finds at Capt Comic's Charlotte show : Crossfire & Rainbow 4s came out of Shelton's 10 cent boxes. Alien Worlds and Crossfire 24 were 50 cents each from Steve Smith. Jonny Quest 3/$1 and the SOTI (with glasses and in a mylar!!) was a whopping buck.

  4. I suppose con sketches belong in this thread, too? I went to Capt Comics show in Charlotte yesterday and pick up this Chrissie Zullo Harley. The DC cover is glossy so the shading doesnt do real well. Still a really cool piece. I also picked up this Budd Root Black Canary. It's a massive 14 * 16 1/2 and is pretty sweet. It's the only piece in my collection with some nudity but I figured if I ever needed any cash, it would move QUICKLY. If you want to see the uneditied version, you have to check it out on my CAF gallery. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=741423&GSub=107831
  5. Another little con tomorrow. C'mon Earl Shaw's cheap boxes!!
  6. Got a nice batch today from the VCC and couldn't be happier. Thanks again!
  7. http://www.lowes.com/pd_101933-1281-CR4824_0__?productId=1000527&Ntt=edsel&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dedsel This is the kind I use. It has a 5000 lb capacity and can be used in either configuration you see in this pic. The 5 high on the left or the two shorter on the right. The are usually around $80 so you can hold at least 50 boxes for under $200.
  8. I guess that's true. I think you actually have to make a statement for it to be sarcasm. Something like " This book is really hot right now." All he had to do was throw a little GGA on the cover and it would be a scorcher.
  9. So I guess you didn't hear about the bump in price on this book recently? Since sarcasm doesn't translate well online, I only have to imagine you're joking. I can put my hands on no less than 30 VF/NM copies at $1 right now. Probably alot more than that if I showed some initiative.
  10. Just got in from the mini-con and no Dave in $1 boxes (OK there were Pacific Presents #1s but I always leave those), but I did pick up some goodies. Top row was at he conand cost me $1.66 each. Bottom row came from Chris Foss' Heroes & Dragons and were $1.50 each. Yay me!
  11. Gonna hit a con tomorrow in Columbia, SC and hit some $1 boxes for some more Stevens goodness. Wish me luck!
  12. I'm still looking for a copy of that book. Ditto. Last one on eBay brought $30 shipped.
  13. And the really nice thing is most of them were picked up dirt cheap. Like others have said before, you can still find some of these in dollar boxes. (thumbs u Or less! My LCS had their annual fill up a long box for $50 sale last weekend. I jammed 402 books in there (so about 12 cents each) and was able to pick up a Crossfire & Rainbow 4 and an Airboy 5!
  14. I love the comic stand on the left! Do you know from what year it dates and in what retail establishment it once did duty? I don't. I just picked it up at the fela market for $50 about a month ago. Most board members think early 90s. It must be later than that. There's a CGC slab at the top. Indeed, because I placed it there the other day. No where else to put it.

  16. While it isn't much compared to a lot of rooms on here, I'm working with limited space. I have hundreds of figures that I just have no room for. so I display just a few of my favorites. To truly appreciate it you have to see what it was before BEFORE NOW Just need to get some of my original art framed and on the wall, and I think I'll be done!
  17. Picked up a few DS issues for $1 each at the flea today. King Kong 1, Jonny Quest 5, and Alien Worlds 2. Of course his run of Crossfires started at 14 and Airboys stopped at 4. Still a nice surprise.
  18. Nice comics, nice price, nice shipping.
  19. and for only $20 shipped, too. Decent price on a super rare piece.
  20. Thanks for the Uncle Scrooge 2 at about 16% of guide! Fast, secure shipping too!
  21. Do you guys still tend to find Stevens' covers in $1 boxes at cons or do most dealers seem to know the demand. I have a few but would love to pick up some more in cheap boxes at shows.
  22. Nice price and quick delivery on a solid GL 87, the last one I needed to finish the Adams run.
