  1. Really sorry to hear that, I hope she’s going to be ok.
  2. June 1975 is the cover date of Journey Into Mystery Volume 2 #17. I think that's the mistake they made. Yeah, the book is mislabeled and will have to be fixed.
  3. True, but the last forecast I saw said no rain on Saturday.
  4. The parking garage is all underground, so even if the weather sucks one doesn't have to get wet coming into the show.
  5. I got the JIM #2 and a mid-run ST (which will remain anonymous as it is a gift) as well as the 7.5 TOS #7 last month (forgot to post a scan of this one too), and just the JIM #17 this month. And I'm still overdrawn in my collection fund! 6.0-7.5 tends to be my range in these books, and for the early issues I tend to shoot for 6.0-6.5 as there is decent eye appeal for the price. I've been both excited and scared for the availability of nice 6.0s lately (scared because of what I might spend). Maybe in some of the upper class Clink auctions coming up we will see some.
  6. How do we let the best thread in the SA room fall to the second page? I blame myself. Here are my latest pickups. Some may think they are too early for this thread, but as early issues of one of the Big Four pre-hero titles I think they count. I have been making some strides in my JIM collection this year and am really enjoying it.
  7. Picked this up in last night’s Clink auction action. Now I just need #106 to have a mini run of #105-111 in affordable grade.
  8. Managed to dilute my shipping costs while adding to my low grade early Flash run.
  9. Looks decent to me, as long as the rain clears up.
  10. Considering that 90% of the money I made on preview night at Free State was to other dealers prior to the actual opening, I’m not sure it is needed. I do appreciate the Friday setup though.
  11. CGC 9.8s. Several sold on Clink in the past couple of days with a few more to come.
  12. I’ve seen plenty of random books sell for $75-100 if they’re in a 9.8 holder. I’m never surprised by that anymore. The Batman #511 does seem a bit high, I’ll grant that one, but it’s also a black cover. It’s possible it’s got a low census number because of the cover and the fact that few copies get subbed. Could be a few different factors.
  13. Are you thinking they’re high or low? These don’t seem too far off what non-variants would get in 9.8. I’m not seeing much of a premium.
  14. I saw Starlin in February and he was allowing witnessing for CGC. I don’t recall the price, but it was either $10 or $20 (I think $10).
  15. I think we are still in the process. Once a few of us with deeper collections go through their books to see what we have then we may have an idea. I have been too slammed to really dig into mine. It does seem that 2nd print indicias are the exception rather than the rule, but we also don't yet know if there are 1st prints of any of those DCUs either...
  16. Thanks! The main problem is that the barcode will drop that book into the registry set for the reprint title and not the original. I'm not obsessive about the registry, and know I will never compete against the big boys in pre-hero Marvels, but I like to display my books and keep track of them using the registry. So I will have to get this corrected for that reason.
  17. Seeing that post again, I shouldn't have called it a newsie, it is actually the non-deluxe DCU. But thanks for checking. Bummed that I missed the other #100!
  18. I figured that this would be a thread about covering up issue numbers with price stickers on the bag, but your examples are worse.
  19. Won this to add to my growing pre-code JIM collection, but just as I was grabbing the scan I noticed that it is mislabeled.
  20. I hope everyone has a great show! I’d love to be there but will be in Dallas for Fan Expo.
  21. Maybe the USPS has access to top secret government technology, but the GPS on my iPhone photos is routinely off. Photos taken at the same place at the same time can show up as being taken in different buildings if you drill down into the map far enough. Not particularly helpful for a delivery snafu.
