  1. Justice League #83 F/VF or VF-- -- asking $20 + shipping ($28 VF OSPG) Very solid and glossy book. If not for the slight tanning to the back cover I would be extremely tempted to go solid VF on this. Only light spine wear and a bit of a bump to the lower spine, book would press nicely in terms of structural improvement. Small dot of blue ink on top of pages.
  2. If those guys are local it’s easy for promoters to add them to the list by providing a free table. That doesn’t bother me in terms of repeat guests on a list. To me the issue is basically reflected by most larger show’s guest lists. Those guys from Supernstural must have gone to every Wizard show for the past three years. Reedus isn’t the fixture he used to be, but damn if he wasn’t at every show, and I mean every show, for about four years running. Name a Dr Who actor/actress and they’re also consistent offenders here. Jason Momoa is going to be on this list soon, I know he’s been to Dallas 2-3 times and he’s on the Fan Expo Dallas list. If shows can’t get new headliners into an area then ticket sales will suffer. I don’t think you get quite this fatigue with comic creators as their fans buy new books to get signed or they get a sketch they couldn’t afford at a previous show.
  3. Yeah, we’ve had those since I got here. Prior to 2016 there were monthly threads, but last year we had a full year thread and no issues. Says something about a Marketplace violation so I’m wondering if it was somehow seen as one big ad for Clink auctions. If so, I’m unaware of anyone promoting anything other than wins, no books were pumped up.
  4. Justice League #82 F+ (looks nicer) -- asking $9 + shipping SOLD Books looks structurally VFish (with a press it would definitely get there) but it has the blue ink on the top covers. Two swipes of blue ink, either distributor or aftermarket. Great book for the price.
  5. Justice League #81 Fine (maybe F+) -- asking $10 + shipping ($12 in OSPG) Very solid copy with nice eye appeal. Light wear, 1" crease in upper left corner of back cover and other minor wrinking to back cover. A press will improve the eye appeal of the book. Dot of yellow ink of top of pages.
  6. Justice League #80 F/VF or so -- asking $14 + shipping ($28 in VF OSPG) Solid copy with light wear. Two small areas of yellow ink on top edges of the pages.
  7. Justice League #79, looks F/VF but VG+ -- asking $7 + shipping SOLD Nice book, but it has a few tiny chews along spine. Spine is solid, and staples are holding everything firmly. Swipe of black ink along top edges of pages that affects top of covers. Great looking book for the money.
  8. Justice League #78 F/VF -- asking $19 + shipping (OSPG VF is $28) Apparently the 1st SA appearance of Vigilante (a ? by this notation in OSPG). Very sharp copy with light spine wear. Does have a small spine split at the top of the spine, which is what is keeping it from a strict VF. That is a printers line by Batman's foot. Two lines of black ink along top edges of pages.
  9. Justice League #77 Fineish -- asking $8 + shipping (OSPG is $12) SOLD Solid, well centered copy. Light spine wear. A bit of writing with ink on back cover, and a swipe of brown ink on the top edges of the pages that affects front cover a bit and back cover a bit more.
  10. Justice League #76 VG+ -- asking $8 + shipping (OSPG VG is $12) Giant G-65. Solid enough book with light wear. Back covers have some stacking soiling to them, could be dry cleaned if you were so inclined. Thin line of green ink to top edges of pages.
  11. Justice League #75 F/VF -- asking $65 + shipping ($103 in VF OSPG) ON HOLD Black Canary joins the JLA, 2nd Green Arrow in new costume. Very solid copy with light spine wear (a press would help this a bit, if you are into that sort of thing). Two small areas of red ink on top edges of pages, may be distributor or applied later.
  12. Justice League #74 VG- -- asking $9 + shipping ($16 VG OSPG) Black Canary joins the JLA, death of Larry Lance, 1st meeting of GA & SA Superman, Adams cover art. Everything is attached, but cover is slightly loose at top staple. Minor chipping along right edge of front cover, spine wear, wrinkling to back cover.
  13. Ok, at long last scanning is done (it always takes longer than you think it will). So this thread will have a run of about 75 JLA books between #74-204, most of which are quite nice. I've also got a few Brave and the Bolds in the #136-151 range, with a few Whitman variants, and a couple of other odds and ends that I will toss into this thread. Keep in mind, there is a $10 maximum shipping charge for US buyers, regardless of how many books you buy. International is always at cost. If you have any questions, or would like additional/larger scans of anything just let me know. I will be grading as I post, so there will be a few minutes inbetween books.
  14. We sell black bagged at $25 and regular 1st prints for $10 at shows pretty routinely. Not huge money, but steady and reliable sellers at those levels off the wall.
  15. Ok, so we’ve got two headliners announced so far. Any other guests, particularly comic talent, that might be announced before 2018?
  16. The guest list is actually pretty solid for this show. Doubt I will be able to make it this year, but it is one of the few shows on the Wizard slate that is worthwhile.
  17. Six months away! I'd really like to get to this show one of these days...
  18. If you look back several pages in this thread there is a post by Cpt Kirk (grand master of all things relating to DC variants) that lists them. Also see LikeEmScanned’s recent posts in the thread, he has a magic touch for discovering never before seen DCUs that are also on the rare list. PS: The Steel #24 and the Green Arrow books you posted above are definitely tougher books to find.
  19. I quite possibly misread your post so thanks for clarifying. I agree that enough people see the math that way that this perception could be a problem for the longer term health of good buying shows.
  20. Question to @1Cool and others who expect a discount to eBay at cons. Why would you expect dealers to take a discount to FMV after hauling books across the county for you to see? I guarantee that it’s cheaper and easier for them to sell on eBay, so why expect dealers to work harder for less money? You expect less risk, more choice, AND a discount? That sense of entitlement seems to me to be part of the recipe that ends comic cons as we know/want them.
  21. I don’t mind paying 10-15% over eBay at a con for books that are going in my collection. I can inspect the books, comparison shop, get them instantly, and there is no risk of damage during shipping. All that plus the enjoyment of attending a show. Seems like a good deal to me. If I can score a few winners out of the cheap boxes on top of all that it makes for a fun weekend.
  22. Definitely. I know of plenty of cases where dealers would have been able to head home before a show even opened with a healthy profit for the entire weekend. The actual show sales were gravy. But if the buyers are really out there in droves then more dealers would be setting up. When the small dealers are not signing up for a WW Chicago, which historically has been a show with that mix of large dealers and weekend warriors, it makes me question whether money has been flowing their way as readily as it has been in years past. Yes, table prices have gone up, but a $1500 table isn't much if you stand to make bank if the buyers are there.
