Happy to help! I would imagine that authenticating 3/4ths of a front cover on a book like that wouldn't be that difficult. You've got a lot of contextual information from both sides that would be useful. It would be a completely different matter with the authentication of different panels, where the panels on the other side could still come from a reprint. From early Marvel Tales reprints even the paper would be of a similar vintage.

These look to be the dates, someone correct me if I am mistaken. Glad to have this show back in the Fall, assuming the dates are correct and they don't "spring" another early year show on us...

I’ve got a similar pack that is green instead of orange, and incidentally it has the same issue of Flash DCU on the front.

I had a pretty successful little box diving trip yesterday. Adv of Superman #514, Aquaman #23, Batman: SOTB #53, Green Lantern #61, Legionnaires #21, Steel #12, Superman: MOT #5, WW #97. The WW and GL are low grade but will do as placeholders until I can upgrade, the SOTB #53 also fills a gap. One or two of the others may be an upgrade as well.

Did they announce the 2018 dates?

I keep a database of comic covers for my screensaver (over 10,000 of them now) and grabbed this one when I saw the auction because it was so unique. I believe the story was that this was a guy in the military who kept the image in his footlocker because he liked it so much.

Word is that this show is back on the 2018 schedule as a TBA. Any other reports from dealers or attendees?

FWIW, I was excited to buy a small collection of moderns recently that had about 15 recent issues of WD in it, as I have always been asked for them. They’ve been to three shows now and I’ve sold none of them and requests have stopped. Could be Murphy’s Law of comic selling, but it’s got me wondering.
