  1. Yeah, it's like he was attacked by a bear mid-post. Or there was an earthquake or alien abduction. I've been worried all morning.
  2. Nick Pitarra Bernie Wrightson (if healthy enough) Bob Layton Tom DeFalco Ron Frenz (please, he's awesome) Steve Skroce Neil Gaiman Mark Hamill Billy Dee Williams Andrew Lincoln Grant Gustin
  3. Because again I ignored my friends advice unlike me he's always on top of things. So maybe you should hang up the speculation shoes until you can get on top of things. I do have some good news though those harambe comics worked out. Numbers? Bought for $66 Shipped Sold for 179.26 after all fees and shipping Take that pasta boy While it's good that Gabe made money on this deal, in all likelihood Jimmy's profit dwarfed Gabe's. I don't mind I made money and I'm happy. I honestly think its great that Gabe is moving closer to the black! After costs we raised $2300 for charity in the presale.
  4. This is looking to be my first show of 2017, so I'm pretty keen to see what the guest list will look like.

  7. So you spent $123 plus shipping for those books. Why? The SW #8 milestone books are good if you want to put together less expensive sets of SW #1-12. I would have paid $3.25 apiece for those. X-Force #1 is available on practically every street corner for $1 apiece, so at $1.77 plus shipping it was a pretty terrible buy unless it has the Deadpool card. If it has that card it is a $10 book. You've received a lot of advice in this thread about how buying graded variants for resale is a terrible idea. Unless this was a personal buy (birthday gift to yourself), which would be an odd choice when you're already four figures in comic debt, why would you buy the variant? Happy birthday!
  8. I bought one of those sealed packs to get my #100, as that one was tough for me even though I have found a ton of the other five books from that pack. The #100 was the only one that was beat up, so it may be a tough 9.8 unless different packs have been filled in a different order that would protect the #100.
  9. For a 2.0 / 2.5 copy? Absurd. The seller describes the spine as being completely split ( or appears split, which really means the cover isn't attached and he's just trying to cover his ). That wouldn't grade higher then a 1.0 on a good day given the terrible condition even without the spine split. That is ridiculous money for that copy. It may be worth about 10-15% of the final bid, and looks brittle in addition to the spine split.
  10. If you're not trying to jump on a VIP you're probably ok waiting. Three day passes should not sell out so quickly. I can't be any help on price, sorry.
  11. Wow, a really nice looking book. Old Label goodness and White Pages, love it ! Nice books bc! Yep, just gorgeous!
  12. Not sure if you've checked Strange Tales or not, so here goes... Note that the #86 has BOTH the large 10 cent circle and the smaller price.
  13. My JIM and TTA books all seem to correspond to examples you've already posted. Maybe these can help: TOS #19 is first large 10 cent circle price.
  14. Thanks for your observations in this journal, it's a great read with good advice and tips. I'm off to Wichita this afternoon for the two day Air Capital Con, my fourth solo setup (after apprenticing for 2+ years in booths with my brother). It's a 10 x 10 corner booth for $175, and I've got my PVC wall and about 18 long boxes of $1-5 books for the tables. I'm hoping I can Tetris everything into my SUV! We "weekend warrior" dealers need a support group!
  15. Two months away. Of the Wizard shows this one is my second favorite to Chicago. A distant second, but still worth attending if for no other reason than an excuse to go to NO and see some books.
  16. Hope they get back to you. I may have the promoter's card around here someplace (met him at a local Kansas show, very nice guy). I'll see if I can find it.
  17. Bump for Greg, have you tried messaging through Facebook?
  18. So buying a book under market and you can't sell it under market so your solution is to buy books OVER market and wait for the market to catch up...hopefully...one day...after an announcement or trailer...or something like that. Sense you have made much of. No the idea was to buy the comic under gpa by at least half but that didn't work out. Also this is black panther's 2nd app we're talking about here which is currently undervalued and 1st app of Klaw. How much higher do you think that book will go? 2nd appearances generally aren't worth as much as the character's first appearance so I don't see it as being undervalued even with the 1st appearance of Klaw. He has already appeared in a movie and that did nothing for his 1st appearance. At least 20-30% higher then what it is right now and that movie he appeared in was civil war, I find the solo movies get more hype and interest in the character that the movies about and what's more he's not a villain so that means his value will have more staying power even after the movie for a bit. If you hit the high end of your estimate, a 30% increase will turn your $115 book (bought at a GPA high to boot) into a $150 book, a $35 profit you paid $25 shipping to acquire. Not to mention tying up $140 of capital to ultimately make $10 if your rosiest scenario works out. 12 month GPA is $132 and 90 day is $102, so the book has trended down recently. If the book does increase your rosy 30% from the average it will be a $132 book, which is less than you paid for your copy after shipping. In other words, you're either intentionally losing money or still ignoring the most basic advice from this board to do your math before you spend money. If Klaw isn't a villain then what is he? I honestly don't know why anyone is still trying to give you advice. You clearly trust this FB friend enough to (poorly) follow his advice while ignoring this board. If this terrible buy, the latest in a string of ill-conceived moves, isn't the straw that breaks the rest of your board support I'll be surprised.
  19. Just wow Never noticed that the end of the story spells it "SPIDERMAN" instead of "SPIDER-MAN". That's what makes this single page so valuable. In this day and age of slabbing and just being able to see only the covers, if you had the complete book you never would have known this critically important fact. Seems to me that the price is driven by the iconic nature of the page. You've got the essence of the character right there as he realizes his huge mistake in letting the burglar go, and the iconic "with great power comes great responsibility" line. If I was going to be a single page buyer, this one would be it by a landslide.
