The only guess I can muster is that the "brand" in the cartoon is some reference to the sneaky background signatures from the inkers Tony Mortellaro and Dave Hunt.

I don't think they are but it is an iconic Spidey story and probably the last important Ditko story in the title.

For 1-100 I'd go with - 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 13, 14, 15, 20, 31, 39, 50 if forced to narrow it down I'd end up with 1, 3, 14 as being the only major keys & those seem to be the ones in Top SA key discussions. Books like 90, 96, 97 & 98 would be good additions for the 100-200 bronze age discussion but don't move the needle for me if the criteria is 1-100.

First appearances and storyline aren't the only criteria for key issues. First issues, anniversary issues, 1st artist/writer, crossovers, hero fights and origin issues were a big deal....key or not key today is debatable. To answer the OP- My keys would probably be 121, 122, 129. Second tier 100, 101, 124, 194 Third tier 102, 119, 120, 136, 149, 162, 200 If pressed into saying "yes or no" to key status I'd say the first two tiers are legit.

Same, the distant third in that Queen St area was Bakka Books. Of course for me "always" means one trip per summer for a couple years.

I compared a couple Micronauts #1 a few years ago and they were identical. IF any of these Whitman books were reprints it would have been something from that later era after the Star Wars title interruption and subsequent reprints. I wonder if the clearly marked Star Wars reprints have the same ads as a first print?
