That’s a good one Ian. Jimmy had a lot cool covers that I’m sure were the reason the books sold as well as it did. Pretty sure through the mid 60’s at least Jimmy Olsen outsold Amazing Spider-Man!

I was lucky enough to win a chance to purchase one of the limited Mondo Avengers Infinity War prints at the San Diego comic con. They only printed 1000 of them. You have to really see these prints in person to see what high-quality they are.
I took mine to Michael’s to get framed, I can’t believe what an awesome job they did! This picture doesn’t really do it justice but I thought I would share it here:

All of the Krypton stuff played heavily into all the Superman books of the 60’s. I personally like all of those books so I imagine when they were new they were popular.
I got my copy of Superboy 98 in the 1980’s at the San Diego comic con, it was always a favorite issue of mine. I think it is reminiscent of Superboy #60

I disagree with the majority that #1 automatically makes it a key. Is Atom #1 a key?
Atom suffers from being ... the Atom ?

I think Action 285 has always been a great book, can you imagine owning that original cover? It’s just awesome! The Supergirl coming out story was kind of a big deal at the time since she was hidden to the public as “Superman’s secret weapon”.

Ian, those are incredible, I feel so remission upgrading. My Legion books. It’s a series I completed so long ago I haven’t paid it much attention, but these stunning copies are making me very envious!

Major SA key, iconic cover, more affordable than AF15, first issue of the most popular character of the silver age and arguably right there withn Superman and Batman. I think comparing it to Superman 1 is more accurate than say Iron Man 1 although Superman 1 scarcity is off the charts.

Well, I’ve noticed that even some Marvel stuff hasn’t aged well. The truly timeless stuff that actually is a lot of fun to read is almost anything. On super hero. Read some Archie, Harvey, Sugar and Spike, etc. still very funny.

I really haven’t read any legion comics in quite a few years but looking at this thread makes me think of all the stories in every one of those issues because I’ve read them all multiple times.

Just my 2 cents but any Baker book is worth a press and slab if your planning to sell, otherwise leave it be.

Very nice copy. One of my favourites. Like your 316 too. Is your Adventure collection based on the LOSH or does it extend to earlier books too?
I bet you will never find the word “scant” on another comic book cover ...

Scan looks better than a 6.5 imo, looks more like a 7.5 to me.

Can anyone spot what's unusual about this PC copy?
OW/W pages?

IIRC that story in Adventure 271 is a classic Superboy / Luthor story that gets reprinted later. I haven't read it in awhile buts its a silver age classic.
Regarding the 260 (beautiful copy Ian!) it cracks me up that it is considered the first SA Aquaman, therefore shooting up the price. The creative team is the same as the issue before and the issue after and it is the same character, but because his origin is in that issue (with new details of course, but every DC origin had new details...) it is the first SA Aquaman. Yes I am bitter because I still need that issue and now it is over priced
(Notice I said over priced not expensive?

Quick sidestep here to show more early Legion other than in Adventure Comics. Always nice to see an Action 276 on the wall at a show. Something a bit exotic about the early 1960s issues.
Superman 149 is a true classic in its own right regardless of being the 9th Legion. A perfectly constructed tragedy with not a single panel going to waste.
Copies of 149 often have discoloration of the white area by Superman's foot at the bottom right corner. I first read this imaginary tale in Superman Giant 193.
Superman 149has one of the classic awesome stories, must read stuff!

Not sure if this is the second appearance on Composite Superman or not, great cover!
