  1. Not Dave, but you guys might enjoy this. By an friend who just left Blizzard to do kids illustration books...
  2. I thought we had established that I was the majority?
  3. I bought EVERY IDW book in 9.8 and had the same realization..... The argument against "retread" covers just doesn't hold any water. By similar logic 2nd, and 3rd prints shouldn't be included either. Virtually every notable comic book cover ever made has has it's cover re-used and they are almost without fail included in their corresponding registry set.
  4. I requested the transfer back one more time just to see, and he accepted it this time. I guess it was an honest mistake.
  5. So this is interesting; at least nothing I've had happen before... I received a notification that a user named JKirbyFan had tried to register my copy of Rocekteer: Special edition. I hit the "reject" button which takes you to a form on the CGC site that asks you to fill out a short message. Unfortunately, the page is also very poorly designed in that when you are done typing your message, the buttons are labelled "accept" and "reject". Assuming I needed to "accept" the form I just entered, that's the button I hit. Doh. Turns out that button "Accept"s the transfer. So I promptly re-registered the comic back to myself. Within 20 minutes, I received a response from JKirbyFan saying "the book has been paid for and is mine." and the transfer rejected. So I sent him a board message stating that I think he had been duped or made a mistake and sent a scan of the book in question with it. This was on the 2nd. He has read the message, but no response. Now I'm suspicious that he's just sniping books. I emailed CGC, but as usual, they are slow to respond too... Anyone have any ideas?
  6. Mr. Bedrock has had a copy for sale for a while.. I tried to buy it from him last year, but the asking price was way too high, imho. http://store.bedrockcity.com/store/product/38818/Werewolf-by-Night-%2332/
  7. Holy that "Girl Crazy" is terrible.. Must have been before DS found his stride.
  8. Agreed Speedy; but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the new too.
  9. . Shows up fine for me? It's big, maybe taking a bit to load?
  10. Stumbled across another of the rarest MK books there are this week. Only the 2nd copy I've ever laid eyes on; on the internet or otherwise. I've not seen mentions or pictures of it that aren't one of my 2 copies on the internet, anywhere... One of the coolest and one of my favorite modern Moon Knight covers. Sadly, this one is a VF+ at best, but a press would definitely help it. No that's not a rub or scratch on the U. It's in the art. Its the MRRC Virgin Variant of Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1. There is virtually NO information on this book on the interwebs that I have found, and the guesstimated print run was 300 copies. I suspect some folks have them don't know what they have as the covers of this variant and the original #1 are incredibly similar. For me, this is the modern Moon Knight fan's grail.
  11. HP should have free downloadable software to run all of their scanners. Never ever ever never ever BUY scanner software. Total scam much like virus scanners. Epson also has software for their scanners; they almost always come bundled with the drivers. 3rd party software will not do any better; scanning "quality" is almost 100% determined by the hardware, not the scanning software.
  12. I keep my safe dehumidified, so I think that should cut down on any rust Yep. Avoid those safes that are rated airtight or waterproof. That and some simple dehumidifier solutions, you should be OK. Or move to Texas/NM/Arizona.
  13. Seems to be more MK fans around the boards lately, so a friendly bump for this rarely frequented thread.
  14. Not super glamorous, but nice nonetheless..
  15. That's exactly my thought, Mayor. I never sell my under copies.. Too much work. So really buying under the maximum grade I can afford is kind of a waste. I have literally HUNDREDS of books that are undercopies that I don't know what to do with now..
  16. I thought VERY long and hard about your books, FF... but ultimately decided to just wait for some 9.8s.
  17. That one's staying. It goes well with the Cheval Noir 1 9.8. Surprisingly, the Cheval Noir 7 was an ebay purchase that actaully turned out to be as good as advertised. However, I will be selling a very nice Cheval Noir 7 9.4 very soon. Sadly, I have a few sub-9.8's already.
  18. Moon Knight is offended by this comment. Ghost Rider probably is too, but I can't speak for him.
  19. Don't think so.. I use mine with Windows 8 and OSX 10.7.4 almost every day.
  20. I mentioned WAAAY back in this thread, but the Epson GT-20000 is unmatched. No, it's not cheap, but you will never need another scanner again with an 11.7x17 scanning bed. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product.do?sku=B11B195011 completely untouched scan with no post-processing. Never a glare of *any* kind. And these scans are about 1/8 of the full resolution. with lid closed (white background) the colors really pop. with the lid open (dark background) the details really come through.
