  1. Thanks Nick. Top Census and only copy on the census: Yeah, I ordered 2 copies from the publisher and both were not shipped well to put it kindly.... Nice snag.
  2. I'd LOVE to replace my lowly 9.4 Starslayer #3 with a 9.8... (hint hint)
  3. finally got my custom painted MK statue in his TRUE colors.. Look great! (despite the crappy pictures)
  4. wewt. Sadly the registry is missing the alternate cover of each issue... I suspect that's because they are indistinguishable in their DB.
  5. this one. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4863449#Post4863449
  6. on both. But I think Cimm, Shark, and a few others have the second book.
  7. Just picked this up from cloudofwit. #124 and #125 are super key books for me; they basically introduced me to super heroes when I was a kid and a lifelong obsession with Spider-Man. Now just to find an equally nice #124...
  8. Nice books.. I got a set of 9.8s as well @ the Dallas Con, but DWC forgot to get Rick sig on them. They are going to try to re-acquire them @ Baltimore.........
  9. I was told we have to stop talking about Dave Stevens..
  10. I really like Maleev's stuff. Wasn't sure at first, but it's growing on me. It has a similar quality to BillS's later work where he got very painterly, etc. Yeah, books can be tough to come by. If you're looking for raws, I have about 5 full runs, and I'd happily sell to you one (or more) for a steal. If you're looking for graded books, I have a bunch of undercopies of those too. Noone was interested a month or so ago when I tried to unload them. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=56&Number=4968586&Searchpage=4&Main=229848&Words=sl4ppy&topic=0&Search=true#Post4966266
  11. I've got a couple.. This one is a Slobodian, but CGC doesn't recognize that as a Pedigree And JUST picked this up from cloudofwit
  12. they are all images hosted on my web server, not pics from the CGC collection stuff.. I have large size too, and someday will go back and make these thumbnails links to the full size images. Yep! topnotchman really came through on those for me with a #2 and a #3!
  13. Okay since this seems to be my own personal thread that no one else seems to be interested in, I figure I'll take a moment to showcase my collection a bit. I've got a handful of books to go to complete my total 9.8 run; 5 or 6 iirc off-hand. I have every intention of completing that run, however most of that run are proving incredibly hard to come by. All of them only have 2 or 3 on the census and/or are really tough black covers. My #24 is one such difficult cover; completely red and VERY prone to spine ticks. Fortunately I lucked out and just happened to have a raw copy that hit a 9.8. Oddly, #26 seems to be the toughest book in the set. It's got a picture frame type cover with a black border which makes it hard for all the obvious reasons... It was also one of the most critically acclaimed books in the series, which I suspect meant a lot of people dug them out of their DREK boxes in the late 80s and read/damaged a lot of them. Alas, my hunt continues... I've included duplicate copies of books that weren't necessarily the highest grade, but are the highest S/S books, or of sentimental value. If you've got a lead on one of the books I need, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!
  14. Just a note that this is still available. I also have a similar copy in 9.4, but sans the Stan Lee sig. (just Jr & Sr) I'd consider trades for something like Dale Keown Sketches/SS or early Amazing Spider-Man's (like Romita stuff) of equivalent value.
  15. Holy jeebus.. Just posted in the Moderns section 9.9/10 thread.
  16. Always on the lookout. Saw this the other day. My copy isn't quite as nice and not graded. http://cgi.ebay.com/Fear-and-Laughter-CGC-9-2-Dave-Stevens-William-Stout-/260827886823?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cba8db4e7 Give us a hint as to what Dave's interior work looks like? I didn't think CGC would grade books that are completely B&W.. *shrug* Rumor has it this is either his first published work, or very near to that.

  18. yeah. They clearly didn't read it.
  19. I'm too lazy to wade back through this thread to see if he already posted it, but DocJoe posted this in the 9.9/10 thread over in moderns.
