Yeah, so psyched to get it in hand in a few days and set him next to Ultron and Thanos
I was always a little hesitant to buy them until last year since they are pretty pricey but once i broke down and bought one, the floodgates opened. The detail in person is just amazing! Now i have the large Vision, Ultron, Thanos, Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Yellowjacket. My LCS has AWESOME Magneto, Abomination, Gladiator and Destroyer ones that are getting harder and harder and harder to resist buying

I got the Ultron and Thanos statues about 6 months ago and FINALLY was able to add my all time favorite, the Vision!
Now, if i could just fins a Ms. Marvel one that wasn't priced thru the roof, my statue want list would be complete!

Waiting for the Rommbu movie , Great run you got going, I saw a bunch to die for yesterday at the Boston ComicCon, TTAs were out in large quantities, saw a few #1's a few 27's and Ant Mans on every wall. Thats astonishing
They seem to be coming out of the woodwork! I hadn't seen a nice 43 in a while and now i've seen 3 HG ones in the last week.

Thats how to get the white envelope to blink all day long (thumbs uI thought the same thing!
That's one hell of a 12c investment you got there Rick! SWEET book!

I don't have many 7.0's but the 2-3 I have, don't look anything close to that! It's hard to tell from that pic but that's definitely looking like an 8.0+ book to me.
-
I think it will come back 7.0 it has a small crease on the lower right hand corner with no color break. Everything else looks real nice !
Huh?!?
Unless someone wiped their on the back cover, that looks WAAAY better than a 7.0!

I got this in yesterday from Bob Storms(blazing bob). I put in my max bid for the horribly miswrapped Suscha 95 in the CC auction before I saw this one on bobs site. I was sooooooo happy I got outbid on the Suscha so I could get this one for the same price. STUNNING in hand!

Hopefully, I'll have this in hand tomorrow courtesy of the great filter81.
Thanks Adam!
And these came in the other day from our very own paperheart. Another GREAT seller here on the boards! Green Rivers are rapidly becoming one of my favorite Peds
-
Thanks to Marco for this one, absolutely love this Steranko cover.
That is an AMAZING book!
I was definitely bummed when you bought that. I'd been considering it for a long time but could never stop buying Avengers long enough to drop that much $$$ on a X-men. Easily the nicest, brightest 49 I've ever seen!
Congrats man!!!
-
That's definitely true!
I always avoided Peds because of the expense but maybe because of all the new ones that have come out, they go pretty cheap most of the time now. A lot of times, they go cheaper than a regular copy. Unless its an Avengers book I need, I pretty much buy only Pedigrees now (thumbs u
I'm definitely addicted to getting Pedigrees

Two AMAZING looking books in hand that came yesterday from our very own Bob Storms

It doesn't look like it from the pic. The room I'm planning on putting it in gets no natural sunlight at all and only even has a lamp on for like an hour a day about. Unless I am in there messing with my books, it's almost completely dark.
How could anyone see it then? Or the key word is "almost"...
If I have to be serious. Great book and totaly deresves to be displeyed and enjoyed (thumbs u
That's a good point
When you walk in my house, there's a small room immediately to the right with French doors that you can see thru. The previous owners used it as a baby room but I've always used it as my den. There's one window that faces the street but it ALWAYS has the curtains and shutters closed because I don't want someone walking/driving by to see all the comics, signed football jerseys and helmets etc from the street and get any ideas. The only light that goes in there is what comes thru the French doors from the rest of the house. When I'm in there doing stuff, I have the lights on but that's probably at most 1 hour a day.
I have a bunch of BA 1st issues displayed in an old Borders map display stand for like the last year and none of them look like they have faded at all in the last year. With the small amount of light that's in there, I THINK it's ok to display books there, especially if this frame actually does have UV protected glass no?

It says it's UV Protected plexiglass
I gotta assume he had books like 10x's as much as my Avengers in there no?
-
From the description, I think it was made for a Fortress. It said though that it can easily be "customized" to fit a slab
I understand that your real happy to finally get your grail, but I would highly recommend you not displaying it in a frame.Maybe take a nice color scan of it and frame that.
Why? This one was supposedly especially made to hold comics MUCH more valuable than my Avengers 1

from the GREAT Bob Storms(blazingbob)

You should have bought one for that sick IH1!
-
So do I !!!
Unfortunately, I don't have the book or frame in hand yet
Book should be here sometime next week. The frame will probably take 2-3 weeks by the time CC gets my check and ships it out

Well, since sacentaur bumped this thread with that sweet 11, I might as well post my newest Avengers
-
I love the cover of the TTA 85 .. reminds me of the WWII era DC - the birds eye angle w Hero swinging out of the cover. Simple lines and rendering of the ocean as it fades into the top ... a Classic.
Same here!
The top to bottom miswrap is a little annoying but for the price, not nearly bad enough to scare me off.

Practically! That damn thing was like 1500 posts

Ummm, i think us relatively new guys could use a link to past fun with this guy!
Holy mess that took a long time to read!!!
