  1. With a "proper" humidified pressing I see the dimples and small creases magically going away. I'd be satisfied with an 8.0, but I have compared it to the 8.5 on the Heritage site, and I dare say mine os better. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/freckles-and-his-friends-8-standard-1948-cgc-vf-85-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/7212-96168.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  2. When I saw the pics online I was thinking 7.0 to 7.5, but in hand it definitely feels 8.0ish to me with a chance at an 8.5 (after a press).
  3. This came in the mail today. I got lucky because there was NO CARDBOARD protecting it. Whew, it didn't get damaged at all. It looks better to me in hand than the photos I looked at when buying it. Really nice spine, nice corners, a couple of light dimples and non color breaking creases that should press out nicely. Interior pages look white to me. The book seems fresh, not old.
  4. I agree. It also looks like Corona virus is spreading across the paper.
  5. So in this pixelation there is no "Month" or "Comics code"?
  6. Making stuff like this is theraputic.
  7. I agree with you unless there was any evidence of a "color break" under the red. If there's no color break then WHY would any color be added. In this case I think CGC got it wrong.... there's no intent to conceal a flaw. You may want to ask about this one.
  8. Yeah, and it's not just a cameo. It looks like the character appears possibly in all the "Danny in Wonderland" stories. I wonder if CGC needs to make a note on the labels of all these Pep comics? The character even appears in PEP 22 (1st Archie) I love discovering stuff like this.
  9. Here's an interesting find I just made..... In early Pep comics there's a story called "Danny in Wonderland" Danny's sidekick is a character named "Kuppie" (short for Kupcake) who looks suspiciously like the Yellow Kid. Definitely a rip off of the character. No writing on his nightgown though.
  10. Very cool. How many hours of work is that? I can't wait to see your Hulk 1.
  11. Hey, this is cool, can't wait till you post it. How about if you make it 4' x 6' so the pixelations work better. Or is that a size you simply don't want to work with?
  12. Good Luck. I hope it works out for you. That's a sweet looking JIM83. What grade did the seller give it?
  13. Here's a great example of a JIM 83 that has a similar free edge. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/journey-into-mystery-83-marvel-1962-cgc-nm-94-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7204-91064.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Here's another..... it's more common than you think for the right edge to be trimmed in close. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/journey-into-mystery-83-marvel-1962-cgc-vf-nm-90-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7204-92164.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
  14. The straight on front shot is important, but the "from the top straight down the free edge" is what I'd want to see to make sure there is an "arrow" with how the interior pages lay.
  15. The photo you need is a down shot from the top of the free edge. If all the interior pages are flat on the free edge then it's been trimmed. It the interior pages look like an arrow (when looking straight down the free edge) or come to a point, then it's probably not been trimmed. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. My gut tells me it is not trimmed.
  16. I've never used her but have always heard so many good things about her.
  17. Congrats on the 6.5. That was a good use of a clean and press.
  18. Cloak? When did we stop calling them Capes? Does it being 30' long qualify it as being a cloak.
  19. I ran across this cover today. Are those Hub-Caps on the front of his outfit? And it's quite the anatomy lesson. And quite the lesson in shading. The only redeeming thing for me is the artist remembered to put the "T" on Thor's belt.
  20. He's got Dumbo in the sack, what else would he ask for. BTW.... I thought Dumbo didn't talk
  21. So you're saying I'm going to be RICH when my auction is over? It'll be my Brother Power Stimulus Package? Um..... am I even gonna get $9.99 for it? What if I forge Stan Lee's signature on it?
