  1. This has probably been brought up before, but I just discovered it for the first time so I thought I'd share. Found this Ad that came out a month before Bizarro appeared in Superboy 68. Of note.... He's flesh colored and has a "B" on his chest.
  2. I'm going to keep this thread rolling cuz I find it entertaining and it's good for a laugh in the new world we find ourselves in. Here we find Jimmy Olsen (a source of countless dumb panels) trapped on a rooftop by thugs. He needs to alert the authorities so he breaks off Letters on the Roof and throws them into the river. Unbelievably impossible with the flow of the river. With my luck the letters would have shifted around in the water to say "SHHAT GUT KRAP" and the authorities would have been very confused.
  3. "...drinking them like an ice cream soda..." ? Wasn't there a better metaphor that could have been used there?
  4. My search wasn't showing me those Whitmans I think I had the "auction only" option so I wasn't seeing the buyitnows
  5. The Whitman version? I see the Gold Key version but not the Whitman
  6. You mean this comic isn't the solution to my getting laid off of work last week????
  7. It's in super low grade shape anyway, but when you're trying to locate an example of a comic and you can't find a single example anywhere, it make you think it's super rare.
  8. I found this low grade Walt Disney Showcase 9 (101 Dalmatians) with a Whitman label. It's from 1961. When I try to look it up in the OSG and on ebay all I can find is a Gold Key version. I know there are a few Whitmans that are really rare. Is this one?
  9. Maybe SPORR is appropriate. It started out as an Amoeba and kept growing and growing.
  10. Price drop $11,999 I looked at individual pages on GPA and what I have here totals over $16000 Page 7 alone goes for over $2000 (has the Action 1 cover panel) 1st wrap goes for $1700 (or more)
  11. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFO Raw Superman 1 - Incomplete NG grade Coverless, & missing the CF. (I will add a color copy of the cover & CF so it'll at least feel complete.) This Superman 1 was put together using 2 copies that were married together. The 1st 4 wraps are from one copy, and the rest of the comic is from the other copy. The 1st 4 wraps are of lesser quality as you will see in the photos. The 1st 2 wraps are missing some margin pieces. The first 4 wraps have been glued along the spine. I never tried to separate them, but perhaps a resto guy/gal that knows glue can safely dissolve the glue. The page quality of the first 4 wraps is probably LT-CR (except for the extreme bottom of the last page which is slightly brittle). I have no problem handling the whole comic, but I'm definitely handling it with care. The 1st 4 wraps also have some thin slivers of Archival tape keeping some small tears from getting worse. The rest of the comic thats here (11 wraps) is actually pretty nice quality, especially the closer you get to the middle. Extremely supple with nice edges. I do see a couple of tiny tears that have slivers archival tape, but these 11 wraps are all in all pretty nice. I'm going to take a pic of every single page for you so you can make the right call on buying this or not. $10,799 $9999 $9499 shipped (last "complete" coverless went for $16433)
