  1. What do you mean "placed in"? Do you mean loosely? I've never heard of that before. Are there any other examples of that with other comics?
  2. From what i can tell the only thing I am missing (besides the cover) is a 6 page (3 leafs) "life raft" story in the middle. Does this mean the CF on this comic has a "tipped in" (glued) single page? I did notice at least 2 other tipped in single pages within the comic so the cf might have a tipped in page.
  3. I got the pile of 17 comics. Here's the Suspense 3. Pages are clean and supple, but it looks to be missing the CF (or 2 cfs) Still a good pick up for under $100
  4. I have a Cap 1 and a Supe 1. I feel like I will someday figure out how to get a Bat 1, but the Marvel Comics 1 feels like it's going to be really elusive (which makes me really want it).
  5. I like the sound of that. Bring it on.
  6. No, this is a Suspense 3 from the wild. It was in a pile of about 15 "garbage comics". I got the pile for almost nothing. I just hope it's complete with the centerfold, I asked the seller to count the pages but he wouldn't do it since it was such a poor lot.
  7. Finding a back cover to Supes 1 is one of the hardest things you'll ever do in this hobby. I was working the deal with the guy who had the Supes back cover for 2 years. I just couldn't get him to pull the trigger on the deal. I was ecstatic when it finally happened.
  8. Thanks Cousin itt. Info is hard to find on this comic.
  9. 2 years ago I traded my coverless complete "extra" copy of Superman 1 for a back cover to Superman 1. My coverless copy was not perfect by any means, but it was complete. In my mind I valued it at $12k - $14k. So it felt like I was paying $14k for the back cover to Supes 1. The back cover was in really nice shape.
  10. I've lucked into a coverless Suspense 3. I see it's a Gerber 9. The census says 35 copies have been submitted. I'm sure some of those might be resubs. In the last 5 years there's been virtually no sales. The 1 sale was for a 1.0 for $21,000 Can any one help me? What do I have here? I'll post photos when I get it.
  11. If 98 days is the new TAT then you and I should get them in mid Nov.
  12. I have a 15 comic "Value" submission that was received on 6/24. It's still only has a "received" designation. I think when I subbed them the TAT said 78 days. Now the TAT says 98 days. That's a looooooong time. Fast track TAT is 25 days on "value". That's 1/4 of the time. I'm gonna have start considering it.
  13. Great resource. I wish it would bold the most common grade. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Just have fun. Explore some different titles. Buy what you like. You will eventually probably narrow your focus. My initial focus was to get Archie 1-10 & 50, but then I started seeing SO many other awesome covers like 13, 68, 46, 48, 49. Then I discovered Betty & Veronica 40 & 41. Then I discovered Ginger comics, and PEP, and Laugh. Seriously there's SO much to like with Archie Comics. I'm glad Riverdale sucked you in to collecting the comics. I hope there's more like you who watched the show and are now collecting.
  15. This is kind of interesting. Most common census grade for each Marvel Key I find it interesting that the most common grades for EVERY SINGLE MEGA KEY is a rounded number and not a .5 Oldest mega Keys all seem to be at 3.0. Slightly newer at 4.0. And the most common bronze mega keys are at 8.0 Amazing fantasy 15 = ....3.0 at 355 copies Amazing Spiderman 1 = 3.0 at 409 copies Avengers 1 = .................3.0 at 456 copies Avengers 4 = .................4.0 at 347 copies Daredevil 1 = .................4.0 at 431 copies FF 1 =.............................3.0 at 274 copies FF 4 =.............................4.0 at 124 copies FF 5 =.............................4.0 at 178 copies FF 48 =...........................5.0 at 476 copies Hulk 1 = .........................3.0 at 184 copies Hulk 181 =......................8.0 at 1123 copies JIM83 = .........................4.0 at 207 copies Sgt Fury 1 =....................4.0 at 87 copies TOS 39 = .......................4.0 at 215 copies TTA 27 = ........................3.0 at 125 copies TTA 35 = .........................4.0 at 98 copies X-men 1 =........................3.0 at 518 copies X-men 94 = .....................8.0 at 679 copies Giant Xmen 1 = ...............8.0 at 806 copies
  16. There's a lot of us who have them. According to the census.... 4.0 is pretty much tied with 2.5 as the 2nd most common grade at 276 copies (2.5 has 278 copies). 1st most common is 3.0 at 355 copies.
  17. Got this one back from CGC today. Pretty funky artwork on the cover.
  18. A little staining at the bottom of the front and back, but...... it's still purdy.
  19. I like the eye appeal of mine. I'm still considering sending it back in for a regrade.
  20. I was just listing a Marvel's Greatest 39 on ebay (reprints FF52) I thought the "original cover" they showed was interesting. WTH is going on with the Black Panthers cape in this "Original" cover? That's not the original cover I remember. I find it strange and interesting as to the choices they make in representing covers like this. I guess they wanted to give the BP more of a normal face instead of the more mysterious looking original cover's face.
  21. I recently sold a Mega-Key to Jeranimal. This five-figure sum deal went extremely well. I would easily do more deals with Jeranimal any time in the future.
