  1. I just looked at the first 60 I saw on the Heritage "sold archive". Out of 60..... 10 were white and 50 were yellow. That's not a huge sample size I guess, maybe you looked at more, but the ratio might be closer to 1 out of every 6 are white variants.
  2. I got a whitey! Woohoo.... wait, these are the rarer ones, right?
  3. Yes, I was selling these many years ago. The son sold me a bunch of these (frustratingly, a little at a time) but then he disappeared before I could buy even a fraction of the collection. He called me again recently (after about 9 years) and started selling to me again (24 long boxes). This TOS 39 is one of the ones I just got.
  4. The sellers dad was D W Cook and he proudly stamped 80% of his collection with the stamp. It appears around 1969 or so he realized he probably shouldn't be stamping the comics because that's when the stamps trail off. It's a big collection. To me it's almost like a minor pedigree because he had all the big marvel Key issues. I still have the Hulk 1, Avengers 1, Xmen 1 with the stamp on the back and now I have the TOS39. Somewhere out there are all the other Key issues in someone's collection.
  5. It is a crease. I thought it was a tear too so I checked it out and it doesn't go thru.
  6. Here's the thread about this comic collection find.
  7. Hi, I'm just wondering if you submitted this or bought it already slabbed. If you submitted it, did you ask them to put a label note about the Archie ad? I really wish CGC would put a label note on this issue. It's a pretty important comic in Archie lore. Great comic by the way, GLWTS
  8. There's no rust migration at all. The cover is holding on strong. I'm not sure what the browning edge on the spine is but on close examination it doesn't look like rust to me (the staples really have only the slightest hint of any oxidation). Look at the 3rd pic on the inside cover where the staples are. the paper is white.
  9. No Tape. That's just foxing. The spine is great.
  10. Presents really well from the front. Back cover has an Ownership Stamp. Back cover has a 2" tear at the bottom near the spine. 2 other tiny tears on the back cover.
  11. Bumping at the top & bottom of spine. Date stamp on front. Ownership stamp on back. Comic is a little misaligned. Tiny 3/32" tear on the top edge of back cover. Some light foxing near the spine on the back cover.
  12. Nice 165. Nice spine & nice front with minimal flaws. Back cover has a 1/8" tear at the top edge by the spine.
  13. This book will come back fast. We'll see about the rest. I'm submitting 60 total comics, by far my largest submission ever. I've decided to "fast track" almost the entire batch (I got such a great deal on these comics that I feel I can afford to spend extra on fast tracking them. I had all 60 pressed too (which gets expensive). I'm getting the custom IronMan label for this one too.
  14. I'm pretty sure it's not trimmed. I did some dry cleaning and it didn't do much to it. The photo actually makes it look worse than it really is.
  15. I'll do cartwheels if I get a 3.0. It certainly looks like one, but with the spine splits....... I just don't know.
  16. It's a tiny color breaking edge wear, nothing is missing. I'd certainly take an 8.0, an 8.5 would be great, but I think it might have a tiny chance at even a 9.0, so I've got my fingers crossed for that.
  17. It's got some flaws, but the front cover is really nice. I'm hoping to get a 4.0. If I get anything more I'll be ecstatic.
  18. 6.5 - 7.0 Hitler? Um... he shaved his mustache and became a cowboy?
  19. It's because black markers are the most common markers for amateur CT.
  20. The diagonal line is very obviously a CT bleed. Because CT was used there, then you have to assume the other spine spots are CT too.
  21. Bought this from a Boardie many years ago and have decided to send it in. Presents really well, however.... Spine split 2" at bottom goes up to lower staple. Spine split at the top goes down 3 1/4". Slight spine roll (which I can't take out because of the fragile spine). Date Stamp? on back cover. This goes into CGC tomorrow.
  22. This is another great find from a collection I just bought. The spine is almost perfect. The worst flaw that I can find is the upper right corner has a micro piece missing. It's a gorgeous comic. Has an ownership stamp on the back. This one is gong in tomorrow to CGC
  23. This was THE mega find hidden in a collection I just bought. The spine looks a little rough but it actually has only a 1/2" split and that split is slightly above the bottom staple where you can just make out a small stain below the word "who". The staples look like they must be rusty but they really aren't (just the slightest hint of rust) The rest of the cover looks great. Page quality is good. The cover & CF are snug at the staples. I'm sending this in tomorrow.
  24. Bosco, is that Two Kings logo real? I really want Namor to be introduced into the MCU. I know it's problematic with Aquaman out there, but Kevin F will know how to handle it.
