  1. I have a chance to purchase the 1st Sunday Strips for Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Jungle Jim, & Tarzan. I've done a little google research and haven't been able to find any solid data to help me value these. Can one of you strip collectors help me out? I know the 1st Superman Sunday & 1st B&W strip goes for quite a bit, but these other characters I'm not so sure of. The strips are all trimmed so I suppose that will really affect the value.
  2. WOW.... how much money do you suppose you lost? If you can give me the serial # for this $100 bill I'll have my daughter send it to you (lol).
  3. I will leave that up to her, but in this instance I don't find it morally challenging. And I don't think she does either.
  4. I'm always surprised by how many comics I see like this.
  5. My daughter is trying to make a little money buying/selling comics on ebay just like her pop (me). She doesn't always tell me what auctions she's buying so she's made a ton of mistakes (haven't we all). It's been fun to educate her on what to look for, how to grade, what's hot, how to detect resto, etc... She's very much on the shallow side of the pool with what she can spend, so the things she buys are very different from what I look for and buy. Anyway, she called me yesterday and told me she bought a "lot of 10 bronze comics" for $20. When they came they were not bagged or boarded so she was a little upset. She grabbed some mylars and started putting the comics into the bags and a crisp $100 bill fell out of one of the comics. She was very excited. Anyone else out there ever find $ in a comic? (by the way.... is a crisp $100 bill from 1972 worth more than $100?)
  6. I simply can't imagine a LCS letting someone leave without looking at the comics. Ummmm.... there could be an Action Comics #1. You never know!
  7. A buddy of mine told me he did a similar thing..... was hanging out at the LCS and someone came in and said they had some old comics in the car. For some reason the clerk didn't show interest so my buddy followed them out to the parking lot and asked if he could see the comics. He saw some GA Submariners in the 1st box he looked in. He bought the comics right there in the parking lot of the LCS. How many of you have followed someone out of the LCS to make a deal for some comics?
  8. This is a dangerous thread. Already too many great comics have been outed.
  9. Yes & Yes. It feels good to have the highest graded copy of a mega key even if it's just a Pence copy.
  10. I was thinking that TN22 must be the highest graded on the census, but there is only one other copy (Church copy) and it's graded 9.4
  11. Well, if I ever send one of my copies in, I'm going to make sure they put the notation. (all of my copies are super low grade though )
  12. Dude, that is one seriously gorgeous TN22. For CGC to not have the "Archie notation" on this is very negligent on their part. I'm sure there are many people working there who know about the Ad.
  13. More Fun 88 CGC 6.5 OW-W Comic has been cracked out of case. Here is a link to the heritage auction in which it sold so you can see that the comic matches the label. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/more-fun-comics-88-cgc-fn-65-off-white-to-white-pages-dc-1943-overstreet-2002-fn-60-value-381/a/12101-31554.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515 Comic has not been pressed $550 shipped $520 shipped $499 shipped $469 shipped
  14. I saw this Ad in the front of a GA romance comic. At first glance I thought I was seeing cleavage with some nips showing, but at second glance it turns out to be birds. I guess my mind is always in the gutter. Nice pair......... of birds. If you think of them as breasts, it makes the other girls hand gestures funnier.
  15. Star Spangled Comics 16 CGC 7.5 Crowley Copy with WHITE PAGES Comic has been removed from the case. You can check it against the Heritage auction to see that it is the same comic. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/star-spangled-comics-16-crowley-pedigree-dc-1943-cgc-vf-75-white-pages-this-is-the-amazingly-nice-crowley-copy-of-thi/a/13031-16260.s This gorgeous copy has not been pressed. It's super nice and would have graded higher except for a spine flaw by the top staple. $775 shipped $735 shipped $699 shipped $670 shipped
